Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 279: Chapter 216: Hunting (Part 2)

Now it’s different. Since I’m allowed to go up the mountain, it’s like a tiger returning to the wild.

Moreover, with Little Black as a companion, it’s like releasing my true nature.

Quickly crossing the mountains I’ve already explored, Xiaomi soon followed the river to a slightly more distant place.

During this time, she also saw some other villages, not far from Fu’an Village, villages that had interactions.

But she didn’t approach them, and even avoided them from afar.

Her main purpose was originally to have fun, and if she got discovered, whether they knew her or not, it wouldn’t be good.

Humming a song, she walked lightly in the forest, not feeling like the overgrown barren hills underfoot; on the contrary, there were many obvious traces of trampling.

But it doesn’t matter, as long as the place is unfamiliar, it’s good. That sense of novelty is enough to keep Xiaomi in an exploring mood.

Luckily, Xiaomi didn’t walk too far either; after crossing a few mountains, she got a bit tired and casually took out a small machete from the space.

Thanks to her running lately, she has made some progress; anyway, her body has become much healthier, and her stamina has also increased a lot.

”Little Black, let’s head that way.” Rubbing Little Black’s head, Xiaomi pointed in a direction.

”Woof~” Little Black barked as if responding.

”I’ve practiced for so long, it’s time to see the results.” Xiaomi muttered to herself and then started looking around seriously.

Very soon, she found a suitable spot, where the surrounding trees were relatively sparse, just right for hunting.

Sitting around waiting for prey to appear was definitely not Xiaomi’s strategy. Before today, she had done a good amount of preparation.

After circling around, she found the best spot for ambush and then chose the best place to make a trap.

Afraid of making a mistake, Xiaomi even tidied up the surrounding weeds a bit.

Then Xiaomi directly took out a large cabbage, tore it up, and threw it on the ground. She also took out a big handful of earthworms from the space and finally sprinkled a lot of Spiritual Spring water over the earthworms and cabbage.

Great, for little animals that eat bugs and vegetables, this is definitely a feast, isn’t it?

The earthworms were something she had raised in the space for a long time. Under the eaves of the space’s yard, there are dozens of boxes of them by now. Besides feeding the chickens, ducks, and geese inside the space, she occasionally lets the ones outside eat some.

It has to be said, having Ling’er around really puts her at ease. Ling’er always stays in the space, not worrying about the time consumed while working. It’s simply perfect!

Xiaomi now even feels like she’s just cruising to success, being pampered, don’t you think?

With the trap ready, Xiaomi quickly signaled Little Black to hide, and she also returned to the previously found ambush spot.

Then, it’s time to wait for the prey!

Before, her father used bugs caught in the fields and wild vegetables watered with rinsing diaper water to catch game, so she was quite confident in this trap!

As expected, just like Xiaomi predicted, the vegetables from the space, especially the Spiritual Spring water, might just seem tastier and prettier to humans.

But animals are much more sensitive than humans. Clearly, when she set it up, there was nothing around, and soon enough, little animals began to show up.

It was a colorful bird, or rather, a pheasant.

The pheasant landed directly on a branch next to the trap, seeming to know there was something wrong with the pile of food, first looking around and chirping a few times.

But in the end, it couldn’t resist the temptation of the delicious food, fluttered its wings, and landed on the ground, devouring the earthworms eagerly.

Xiaomi didn’t hide; she just sat next to a rock not far away. Since she was quiet and still, the pheasant didn’t pay attention to her.

Seeing the pheasant already starting to peck at the food, she quickly raised the bow and arrow that she had prepared long ago, taking aim.

With a ’swish’, the arrow flew out but accidentally brushed against a nearby vine, veering off course and grazing the pheasant’s neck, only to reflect on the ground behind.

The startled pheasant fluttered its wings and flew away.

Xiaomi sighed with regret, but the next second she perked up again, retrieved the arrow, and continued!

She just didn’t believe it, that after practicing for so long, she hadn’t improved her aim even a little?

After all, her eyesight and hearing were enhanced by Spiritual Spring water!

From morning till night, she truly didn’t go back at noon, ate the buns she brought in the morning, and even gnawed on a few ready-to-eat duck necks, a pack of beef jerky, and so on.
