Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 289: Chapter 219: A Misunderstanding (Part 3)

Xiaomi still wanted to listen, but Wei Ziang, who also heard, pulled her into the yard.

Xiaomi was afraid of making a sound and being discovered, so she didn’t dare to ask loudly, and had to reluctantly be pulled by Wei Ziang to the old house’s chicken coop.

They were already far from the pigsty, and there were pig and chicken noises on both sides, so they didn’t have to worry about being discovered.

”Big brother, why did you pull me over here? I still want to hear what Granny Xie was saying, hopefully she doesn’t really convince mother.”

Xiaomi was anxious; she didn’t want to inexplicably gain a sister-in-law, especially one forced onto her not-yet-twelve-year-old brother in such a way!

Wei Ziang patted her hand back, ”Don’t worry, this is exactly what I wanted to talk to you about.”

Wei Ziang kept holding Xiaomi’s hand, but since they often went up the mountain and worked together, it wasn’t unusual for them to hold hands from time to time, so Xiaomi didn’t think there was anything wrong with it.

Right now, all Xiaomi could think about was that her older brother shouldn’t be casually committed like this, so as soon as Wei Ziang finished, she quickly asked,

”What do you want to say? Hurry up and say it, don’t hesitate.”

Wei Ziang was helpless, not knowing why Xiaomi was so anxious.

”Actually, you really don’t need to worry about this matter. Uncle and aunt care a lot about our own thoughts and have never forced us to do things we don’t like. I think, for such a big thing as marriage, uncle and aunt will definitely ask for our opinions first.”

Wei Ziang’s voice was calm and steady, completely different from Xiaomi’s anxious demeanor.

However, Wei Ziang’s cool and calm voice really helped cool Xiaomi’s head.

She patted her forehead, took a deep breath, and with the cold air mixed with chicken coop smells, she finally regained her usual thinking ability.

”I got worked up because I care too much. You’re right, big brother, there’s no way mom and dad would decide something so major because of a few words from someone else.”

Her parents were never like that!

This, she and her brother knew better than anyone!

At the same time, she finally realized why her brother wasn’t worried at all!

Of course, her brother knew more about this matter than she did, after all, she only overheard the adults talking about it briefly before she was even a month old.

Thinking of this, Xiaomi finally let out a long sigh of relief, ”That scared me.”

She had forgotten about the strong sense of security her parents had given them.

If this had happened to herself today, she wouldn’t have been so anxious.

Again, she got worked up because she cared too much, she hadn’t thought it through, just heard Granny Xie was trying to shove a wife onto her big brother.

Seeing that Xiaomi had calmed down, Wei Ziang thought for a moment and then asked casually, ”Xiaomi, do you not want Brother Yù to get married?”

Xiaomi shook her head frankly, ”That’s not what I mean. If big brother likes a girl, I’d be more than happy for him to get her soon.”

”Then why were you so anxious today?”

Xiaomi pursed her lips, ”It’s different, isn’t it? Look, big brother is only a few years old, not even twelve yet, and what Granny Xie said about that girl, it’s just her talking.”

”Even if it’s a matchmaking, it should be done slowly. We need to understand the girl’s family background, her reputation, etc. Even if they won’t meet in person, we should find someone to investigate thoroughly first.”

Xiaomi knew a bit about these processes.

She pursed her lips as she spoke again, ”But you heard Granny Xie’s meaning, knowing that big brother is leaving in a few days, she’s in a rush to have him take that girl to the county, who knows what the situation is with that girl.”

Blind dates are not scary, what’s scary is getting married without meeting first.

The way Granny Xie talked just now was undoubtedly like that.

Wei Ziang nodded firmly, ”Yes, Xiaomi is right.”

Feeling her thoughts affirmed, Xiaomi’s eyes rolled, and she gestured for Wei Ziang to lean down.

Then, Xiaomi leaned close to Wei Ziang’s ear.

Even though there was no one around and even if they spoke normally only the chickens could hear, she insisted on whispering!

Isn’t there an expression for this? Making a fuss over nothing!

”Big brother, let me tell you secretly, whether it’s boys or girls, getting married too early isn’t good for health, and when they get older, they’re especially prone to illness!”

Wei Ziang was stunned, asking in confusion, ”Really?”

Xiaomi nodded repeatedly, continuing in a low voice, ”Yes, it’s best to marry at sixteen or seventeen, or seventeen or eighteen. You secretly tell big brother, just say you read it in another book, don’t say it was from me.”

Wei Ziang nodded thoughtfully, ”Okay, I understand.”

Sixteen or seventeen, he noted it down.
