Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 250: Chapter 206: Zhang Xiaohua (3)

A nine-year-old little girl without a single friend of her own, how lonely that must be.

Regardless of whether Xiaoxue is really lonely or not, Xiao Mi thinks her second sister must be very lonely like this.

Since a peer came along, who seems to have quite a good personality, and whose parents have a good relationship with theirs, it would be great if she could become good friends with second sister.

At least, in the future, when she wants to run to the mountains to play, she wouldn’t have to worry about her second sister being bored at home alone.

With this thought in mind, Xiao Mi chatted with Zhang Xiaohua with a smile.

Quickly, Xiao Mi realized that Zhang Xiaohua wasn’t an introverted person; she spoke smoothly and answered her questions easily.

She was just nervous earlier probably because she wanted to learn embroidery from Xiaoxue, but was too embarrassed as she didn’t have the tuition fee.

”By the way, Sister Xiaohua, why do you want to learn embroidery? I don’t like it; it’s so tiring. Sitting for a while makes my back ache, and my eyes get strained.”

Xiao Mi pouted, looking somewhat traumatized.

Xiaoxue couldn’t help but laugh: ”With a restless nature like yours, of course it’ll be tiring. I don’t find it tiring. I can embroider all day and still feel fine.”

Having said that, she curiously looked at Xiaohua: ”But Xiaohua, Xiao Mi isn’t wrong. Embroidery takes a lot of time, why do you want to learn it? Can you manage to handle it?”

After speaking for a while, the girls became familiar with each other, and Zhang Xiaohua no longer felt as nervous talking about wanting to learn embroidery.

Upon hearing Xiaoxue ask, she still glanced at the two boys nearby. Seeing them a little further away, she lowered her voice, sounding as if whispering a secret.

”I heard people say that if a girl has a skill to earn money herself, she can find a better family in the future. After marriage, she can also supplement the household income, and her parents-in-law and husband would treat her better, making life a bit easier.”

Xiaoxue’s face flushed red. Hearing such topics concerning marriage made her, as a girl, inevitably shy.

Xiao Mi, however, didn’t care at all, but seeing the two sisters being so cautious, she followed suit and lowered her voice.

”Sister Xiaohua, you’re only about eight or nine years old, why are you worried about marriage so early?”

After all, with how popular Fu’an Village is now, village girls generally can marry into good families, and young men find it easier to take a wife than in other villages.

So, hearing Zhang Xiaohua mention this reason, Xiao Mi was indeed a bit surprised.

However, Xiaohua was only embarrassed for a moment before continuing.

”Engagements start at thirteen. I’m already nine, only four years left, and I heard embroidery is hard to learn, so I wanted to start early.”

However, if Xiaoxue doesn’t teach her embroidery, then she has to rethink what else she can learn.

Xiao Mi was stunned and forgot to lower her voice, exclaiming: ”Thirteen? So young?”

Thirteen years old in the past? That was just sixth grade!

However, this exclamation drew everyone’s attention. Xiaoxue and Xiaohua turned red and simultaneously covered her mouth.

”Keep it down!”

Then, awkwardly, Xiaoxue looked to the side, where Jiang Wei and Wei Ziang were staring at them, puzzled.

”Xiaowei, Ziang, you guys head back first, bring the clean clothes back to hang dry, we’ll handle the rest ourselves.”

”For... ”

Jiang Wei wanted to ask something, but was pulled by Wei Ziang, who seemed to understand: ”Alright, second sister, we’ll head back first then.”

As he spoke, he forced Jiang Wei to leave.

Of course, they didn’t forget to take back the washed clothes.

Once the two boys left, Xiaoxue and Xiaohua breathed a sigh of relief, which made Xiao Mi want to laugh, but she dared not.

Once they were far away, the girls’ courage grew, and they spoke with increased volume.

Xiaoxue was no longer embarrassed, washing clothes while she spoke to Zhang Xiaohua.

”You should’ve said it was for that reason. Although I’m not very good at it, over the past two years, I’ve managed to take on some embroidery work. If you want to learn, come find me anytime, I’ll teach you.”

Zhang Xiaohua beamed: ”Really? That’s great, thank you, Sister Xiaoxue! Rest assured, once I start earning, I’ll definitely pay the tuition!”

Xiaoxue shook her head: ”No need for a fee, but embroidery requires a lot of thread and fabric. You should inform your parents first and have them buy you plenty of these things.”

Zhang Xiaohua’s face immediately showed hesitation and difficulty, as this was indeed a troublesome point. After all, she wasn’t sure if her parents were willing to buy these things for her.

”I’ll... I’ll go back and ask them first.”

Xiao Mi was surprised: ”Sister Xiaohua, you haven’t told your parents that you want to learn embroidery?”

Xiaoxue was also taken aback. She mentioned the need for lots of thread and fabric just to remind Zhang Xiaohua and her parents. Who knew their parents weren’t even aware of this?

Zhang Xiaohua sighed: ”Not yet. I was planning to ask Sister Xiaoxue first, then I’d talk to them.”

Now it seems it might be a bit difficult.

After all, not every parent is willing to spend much money on their daughters.

Xiao Mi noticed Zhang Xiaohua’s dilemma, and her eyes flashed with a thought: ”Sister Xiaohua, I actually have an idea...”
