Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 256: Chapter 208: Who Do You Miss More? (3)

Xiaomi instantly breathed a sigh of relief: ”That’s good, I was worried you would blame me for making decisions on my own, Second Sister.”

Finally reacting, Xiaoxue couldn’t help but pat Xiaomi on the head: ”What are you talking about? I think having Xiaohua here is nice too. When you go out to play in the future, you won’t have to ask me every day if I’ll be bored.”

Xiaomi chuckled foolishly twice, then rolled over and patted the spot beside her: ”Come up and sleep, Second Sister, it’s getting late.”

Xiaoxue sat by the bed, blew out the oil lamp, and then lay down, letting out a quiet sigh as she did.

Xiaomi was puzzled: ”What’s wrong, Second Sister?”

Xiaoxue turned slightly: ”I wonder when Big Brother and the others will come back.”

Xiaomi thought for a moment: ”They should be back soon, maybe in the next couple of days. Who knows, when we wake up, Big Brother and Ze Ge might all be back.”

For the past few years, Liu Bo and Liu Ze have been living with the Jiang family, adhering to the old agreement of ten taels of silver per person per month, adding up to two hundred and forty taels a year for just the grandfather and grandson staying with the Jiang family.

Besides food, the Jiang family didn’t have to provide anything else, not even any special treatment. Whatever they ate, the grandfather and grandson would eat too.

Overall, the Jiang family was profiting greatly.

You should know that even Liu Bo would help dry grains and tend to cattle during busy farming times, occasionally even cooking a simple meal.

Not to mention Liu Ze, who studied like Jiang Wei, riding an ox cart to school and walking back, harvesting crops during busy times, and reading and writing during leisure.

Since the drought ended, Liu Ze’s health improved, and he started going to school. Although he had learned almost everything the teachers taught, it didn’t stop him from attending again.

However, Liu Ze was different from others; while others ate the school’s food, Liu Ze could only eat what the Jiang family provided, so he brought his meals separately every day.

Jiang Hu found it troublesome. Although the family’s food was delicious, it didn’t stop him from enjoying meals at school, so he didn’t bother bringing any.

This time, going to town, apart from Jiang Hu, Liu Ze also planned to find a new school and study hard together, preparing for exams.

Under the moonlight, you could see Xiaoxue’s expression, not particularly happy.

Xiaomi’s eyes darted around, and she suddenly asked, ”Second Sister, are you thinking about Big Brother or Ze Ge?”

Kids of this era mature early. When she was fourteen or fifteen, she didn’t know much, but Zhang Xiaohua, younger than Second Sister, was already worrying about her future married life.

Moreover, from her observations over the years, she distinctly noticed that Liu Ze seemed to care more for their second sister, showing more concern!

But she always thought they were too young, after all, one was nine, and the other eleven; they seemed just like elementary school kids.

However, Zhang Xiaohua’s appearance today really taught Xiaomi a lesson.

The eleven or twelve years old of this era appear to be different from the eleven or twelve she recognized from her past life?

Children as young as eight or nine were already worrying about their future marriage, yet at eleven couldn’t even consider keeping a distance?

Reflecting on Liu Ze’s usual behavior, although not obvious, he indeed paid more attention to Second Sister.

That’s why Xiaomi asked such a question.

Yet, to Xiaomi’s disappointment, Xiaoxue just smiled, ruffling her head.

”Of course, I miss all of them, including Liu Bo, Uncle Qixi, and Aunt Yang. They’ve been away for a long time too.”

During the previous drought, Liu family’s servants left when things got tough. Liu Bo didn’t have anyone look for them.

Instead, he just had someone tidy up the house in town and stayed in Fu’an Village, not returning.

It’s been three years now since the Liu family on Xiangma Town, with only a caretaker at the door, no one else, and only Qixi and Aunt Yang left as servants.

The two continued living in Fu’an Village, and although they didn’t get extra silver, they worked diligently, receiving their Liu family’s monthly salary and additional rewards of one or two hundred to three hundred copper coins from Jiang Hu each month.

Each trip to the county, Liu Bo took Qixi and Aunt Yang along. One handled the cart, while the other helped cook on the way.

Feeling unrewarded, Xiaomi closed her eyes honestly, ”Second Sister, it’s late, let’s sleep. Maybe when we wake up, they’ll all be back.”

She yawned after speaking.

Today, she wasn’t in good shape, not sure what happened, especially at night, feeling unusually sleepy. Talking with Second Sister earlier was just her trying to stay awake.

So now, as soon as she closed her eyes, she immediately drifted off into dreams.

Xiaoxue lay there, staring at the moonlight filtering into the room for a while, daydreaming, then turned over and closed her eyes to sleep.

Half-asleep, Xiaomi’s question suddenly flashed through her mind.

Was she thinking of Big Brother or Ze Ge?

But before Xiaoxue could give it much thought, she directly entered her dreams.

Forget it, she probably thought of both, perhaps just more of one and less of the other.

Maybe, just as Xiaomi said, when they wake up, everyone might already have returned.
