This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

The phone in hand can’t be put down in time, and Du Heng has already stood up, ”Principal Wang, I’m sorry, there’s something urgent at the hospital, I have to rush back immediately.

The matter we just discussed, let’s find another time later to go into detail.”

As soon as the words fell, Du Heng couldn’t wait to leave Wang Pan’s office, not even waiting for Wang Pan to say a word.

However, Wang Pan didn’t mind this. He knew that when something urgent happens at the hospital, it’s basically life-threatening.

Once such a thing happens, all false pleasantries have to be set aside. Even if it’s the top figure in the education sector standing here, they have to dutifully make way for Du Heng to run through.

Du Heng didn’t think much about it; right now, he just wanted to focus on getting back to the hospital as quickly as possible.

So all the way, he drove the car almost like it was flying, even feeling like he might have run some red lights at a few intersections.

”Director Niu, what’s the situation?”

In the hospital’s emergency room, Du Heng dashed in as if crazy, and the first time he saw Director Niu, he hurriedly asked aloud.

As his voice fell, the entire emergency room only had the piercing alarm sound of the monitor and the heavy breathing of several medical staff.

Director Niu was much the same, and his forehead was already showing cold sweat, indicating that he had not had an easy time before.

When he heard Du Heng’s voice, his stern expression momentarily relaxed, and his eyes carried a bit of hope, ”Director Du, take a quick look, we’ve thought of everything we can on our side.”

As he spoke, the medical staff in front of the sick bed made room for Du Heng.

Du Heng walked forward unceremoniously but couldn’t help asking, ”Director Niu, wasn’t this person already recovering before, so why has it suddenly become like this?”

”Sigh, since the patient took your medicine, as you said, he was indeed moving in a good direction.”

Director Niu frowned, face full of rising anger, ”But Director Du, you remember, right? The patient’s family was being cared for by his brother-in-law’s family, correct?”

Du Heng’s ears perked up to listen to Director Niu while his hands unhesitatingly began the check-up.

Upon hearing Director Niu’s words, he directly made a sound of acknowledgment, ”It’s related to his brother-in-law?”

Director Niu heavily acknowledged, ”At that time, the person was recovering well, eating and drinking, and his brother-in-law requested to be discharged.

He said that the whole family lying in the hospital was expensive and difficult to take care of, so he took the patient and the patient’s son out of the hospital.”

Du Heng’s face looked very unpleasant as he checked the pulse and, hearing Director Niu’s words, directly got angry, ”Director Niu, the patient’s condition is something the family doesn’t understand, but you as the Nephrology Department Head should know, right?

The patient has uremia, kidney failure. All the manifestations in the hospital are illusions caused by medication, behaviors sustained by drugs.

Once away from the medication, the patient’s two kidneys are just like two deflated balls, and at this time, you dared to discharge him?”

Director Niu was scolded by Du Heng but also appeared very helpless, ”Of course, I knew that, but my advice was useless.

Not only did the patient’s brother-in-law request discharge, but the patient himself also requested it.

They clearly stated they were taking traditional Chinese medicine, and they could buy medicine at nearby pharmacies or clinics, thus greatly reducing their financial pressure.”

”Nonsense.”

Du Heng muttered angrily, his face turning extremely ugly.

The patient under his check-up was like a leaking ball.

First, there was no definite pulse.

All the pulse patterns Du Heng knew appeared non-stop under his fingers. And this situation was far more detestable than any disastrous pulse, indicating the patient’s five viscera and six bowels had completely gone awry.

Again, the patient’s stomach qi was completely gone.

This indicated that the patient could still breathe and have a heartbeat purely due to the effects of these life-saving injections, rather than his body actively working.

Du Heng stood up somewhat powerlessly, as this patient’s situation left him unable to think of a good solution at the moment.

Even though his mind was racing, he still felt an overwhelming sense of powerlessness at this time.

Du Heng looked coldly at Director Niu, ”Director Niu, I recall you said before that I was fully responsible for this patient, right?

So when the patient wanted to be discharged, shouldn’t you have informed me?

With the patient’s current situation, neither a pharmacy nor a clinic, nor any other hospital, once they ask about the patient’s condition, they wouldn’t dare to use the prescription I gave.

For a block and repulsion disease, they still dared to use laxatives. They neither have that capability nor that courage.”

Du Heng knew too well how his peers behaved.

Listening to Du Heng’s complaints, Director Niu opened his mouth, yet ultimately said nothing.

Du Heng was frustrated, but as the patient was a Nephrology Department patient, he really had no position to continue losing his temper.

If this had happened in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Internal Medicine Department, he might not have been able to resist giving a couple of big slaps by now.

What is this behavior called?

This is called dereliction of duty; this is called reckless folly; this is...to hell with it.
