This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Director Niu saw Du Heng shaking his head and asked perplexedly, ”Director Du, what do you mean by this?”

Du Heng chuckled lightly, ”It’s nothing, just that Director Niu, you seem to have misunderstood. Today, there’s nothing particularly precious in these medicines. The most expensive ingredient is probably the musk.”

Director Niu was a bit stunned, ”Director Du, are you saying that you only used common and cheap medicines?”

”Yes, all of the medicines are the most common and cheap ones.” Du Heng laughed softly, ”My principle in prescribing medicine has always been that as long as it can cure the illness, it’s fine. I don’t deliberately pursue those costly medicine ingredients.

Of course, if it’s a special case, it will be treated specially.”

Speaking of which, Du Heng thought of Zhang Shiping’s grandfather.

The nourishing prescription he gave that Sir was full of precious medicine ingredients.

Director Niu couldn’t quite believe it, walked a few steps, and couldn’t help but ask, ”How cheap are we talking about?”

Du Heng did some mental calculations, ”If we don’t count the musk, just the pricing of the prescription should not exceed 200 yuan.”

”Two hundred?”

Director Niu said nothing more.

No wonder people say conscientious traditional Chinese medicine practitioners don’t earn money. Just this life-saving medicine costs only 200 yuan per package, how could they earn anything? It’s a miracle they haven’t starved.

But this thought clearly shows that Director Niu doesn’t understand traditional Chinese medicine.

Because now, practitioners like Du Heng in traditional Chinese medicine aren’t many.

Those who take the conservative approach, especially those who aim for no merits, only no faults, they earn money in a way that even Western medicine practitioners like Director Niu would respectfully acknowledge.

In just these few words, Du Heng met the patient’s brother-in-law.

This brother-in-law seemed quite honest, asked hesitantly for quite a while, but didn’t touch on the main point. Du Heng proactively explained all the key points of the matter.

Seeing the honest man in front of him agree, Du Heng didn’t plan to stay longer, and after informing Director Niu, he turned and left.

Originally planning to head straight home, as Du Heng reached the departmental entrance, he surprisingly saw Mr. Ma again.

He stood casually chatting at the elevator entrance with a young man who seemed like an assistant.

”Mr. Ma, haven’t left yet?”

”Oh, Director Du, you’ve finished your work?”

Upon hearing Du Heng’s greeting voice, Mr. Ma warmly stepped forward, seeming not to mind what happened at noon.

Seeing this, Du Heng felt comfortable and smiled, ”It’s already past seven, Mr. Ma must be exhausted?”

Mr. Ma chuckled, ”Not at all, we’ve just been chatting here. How could we get tired? But you must be the one exhausted today, Director Du.”

”I’ve heard about the rescue of that patient; it was really tragic. My company is willing to cover all the treatment costs for that patient.”

Du Heng also laughed, ”Then Mr. Ma, you’ll have to spend quite a bit.”

”Ah, it’s a responsibility. A company shouldn’t always think about making money; it should have some social responsibility.” Mr. Ma laughed kindly as he walked to Du Heng’s side, ”Director Du, you must give me this opportunity.”

Du Heng gestured invitingly, leading Mr. Ma and his assistant to his office, ”Then I’ll thank Mr. Ma on behalf of the patient.

Come on, it’s just after work now, let’s sit in my office for a bit.”

”It’s quite late already, and you’ve been busy all afternoon, Director Du. You probably haven’t had a meal yet. How about we find a place to eat?” Mr. Ma hesitated a bit, then made his suggestion.

But Du Heng directly shook his head, ”No need, let’s just chat in the office. I have things to attend to this evening.”

Seeing Du Heng’s firm stance, Mr. Ma had no choice but to follow him into the office.

Du Heng’s office was not as spacious as before, just two desks and two chairs, hardly comparable to the large sofa and tea table he had in Jinzhou.

Now, as the only Deputy Director in the department, he could enjoy an office alone. If there were another Deputy Director, they would have to share an office.

However, Mr. Ma didn’t seem to mind this. After sitting down, he apologized sincerely, ”I’m really sorry, Director Du. That evening, I was a bit short-sighted. I sincerely apologize.”

Mr. Ma spoke straightforwardly without any cover-ups, quickly getting to the point.

Of course, Du Heng didn’t want to beat around the bush either, directly saying, ”Mr. Ma, you are the boss of a large company, surely very busy.

I’m a straightforward person too, not fond of beating around the bush, so I’ll get straight to the point.

I have a cosmetic cream formulation in hand. I trust the effectiveness of this product, which Mr. Ma must have investigated recently, does not require further explanation, right?”

Seeing Du Heng starting to discuss business directly, Mr. Ma immediately became serious, ”Director Du, just tell it like it is. How shall we collaborate?”

Du Heng first gestured, and then said, ”Mr. Ma, don’t rush. Let me finish my talk, otherwise, you’ll think I’m forcing this upon you.”

Mr. Ma could only chuckle awkwardly.

What Du Heng said was exactly what he suspected before.

After a light chuckle, Du Heng said, ”This cosmetic cream formulation was optimized from the Burn Ointment prescription.

And for my Burn Ointment, Mr. Ma must have already investigated; the production cost, sales, and effectiveness are all out in the open. Mr. Ma, you’re aware of these, right?”

Mr. Ma nodded, ”Regarding the Burn Ointment mentioned by Director Du, my materials here are quite complete.

While gathering these materials, I discovered that the Burn Ointment has a cosmetic effect, and the effect is very good.

If this cosmetic cream indeed evolved from the Burn Ointment, then I’m very much looking forward to further cooperation with Director Du.

It’s just that I’m wondering how Director Du intends to collaborate?”

Du Heng nodded and said directly, ”The reason I’m looking to collaborate with Mr. Ma is because the best avenue for this cosmetic cream is through cosmetics.

If we take the pharmaceutical route, the process will be extremely complicated, whether it’s approval or going public, it’s very troublesome.

Additionally, Mr. Ma has already established avenues in cosmetics, regardless of the reason, collaborating with Mr. Ma is the most cost-effective option.”

After a pause, Du Heng continued, ”As for collaboration, I’m still offering patent licensing. Production will remain with my friend’s company.”

Mr. Ma frowned slightly, thought for a moment, and then said, ”So, you mean I get the sales rights?”

Du Heng nodded, ”Yes, that’s correct.”

Mr. Ma pondered briefly and then also nodded, ”That’s good too. I’ve investigated the company of your friend; their strength and management are pretty good.

Moreover, they have experience producing Burn Ointment. Manufacturing derivatives in the same category should be relatively easy, ensuring some cost control.

So, how exactly will we collaborate?”

Du Heng didn’t hesitate, saying directly, ”You should discuss this with my friend, Mr. Liao Quansheng. Whether you authorize him to produce or you both register a new company to produce and sell, I have no opinion.

In detail, you two bosses should discuss, as you are the professionals in this area.”

Hearing that Du Heng didn’t lay down rigid rules, Mr. Ma exhaled slightly with relief, ”Alright, then I’ll trouble Director Du to introduce us. I’m looking forward to meeting this Mr. Liao.”

Du Heng didn’t hesitate to nod, then asked Mr. Ma, ”Mr. Ma, one last question, how do you handle such cooperation with Director Zhang?”

Mr. Ma didn’t answer directly, but after a brief silence, he asked in a light voice, ”Does Director Du mean that Director Zhang wants to get involved too?”

Du Heng, realizing Mr. Ma’s misunderstanding, quickly explained, ”He doesn’t know about this, nor has he expressed any intention.

But you know, last time’s matter involved disturbing Director Zhang, and between you and me, it’s . . . you know, right, so I’m just asking.”
