This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Director Zhao said solemnly, ”Mr. Song, I have to criticize you for this. You’re too young, too rash and careless in how you do things. Apologize to Classmate Du Xuejing.”

Song Zhiyuan’s eyes trembled.

Apologize to Students?

And apologize in front of so many Students—after this, how was he supposed to manage Students, how would he have the face to appear in front of Students again?

He knew very clearly that as long as he apologized, within Ten minutes, what had happened here would spread to the ears of every Student in the School.

But seeing the warning in Director Zhao’s eyes, Song Zhiyuan hurriedly bowed his head and bent at the waist, ”Classmate Du Xuejing, I…”

”No need.” Du Heng suddenly cut in, directly interrupting the apology Song Zhiyuan was about to make.

Director Zhao couldn’t quite keep his expression, frowned, and looked at Du Heng, ”Mr. Du…”

Du Heng, however, spoke righteously at this moment, ”Director, don’t blame me for not giving you face; it’s that this particular face really can’t be given, otherwise it’ll be harming you.”

As he spoke, Du Heng pointed at Song Zhiyuan, ”This Teacher here, he intimidates Students, threatens Students, willingly wags his tail and begs and charges ahead as a dog for some off-campus company. This is already far beyond something that can be brushed off as just being young.

From his mindset, his morals, to his code of conduct, he has completely betrayed a Teacher’s professional ethics; he’s not even acting like a law‑abiding citizen anymore, given the Things he’s capable of doing.”

Du Heng shifted his gaze back to Director Zhao, ”Director, if because of your words we accept this light and airy apology, how do you think Students in the School will see you if this gets out?

How will Colleague in the School see you?

How will School Leaders see you?

And once we accept the apology, doesn’t that give other Teachers in the School a reference point—a precedent? Won’t they feel they can copy this, and for the sake of their own interests and those of outside workplace, go on to damage Students’ interests?

And the consequences of that—doesn’t it further damage the School’s reputation and interests?”

Director Zhao hesitated.

Du Heng went on, ”The punishment is too light; it’s just an apology, and compared to the potential benefits involved, it’s far too painless to matter.

Director, if because of this case others take him as an example, the harm will be huge.

I won’t accept this apology, and I won’t give you this face—and that’s for your own good, too.”

Director Zhao sighed.

Fine, no point struggling. He immediately turned to look at Song Zhiyuan, ”Mr. Song, the School needs to conduct a proper investigation into this matter. For the next few days, go home and rest first.

Right, hand over the job In hand to… Xiao Li. From now on your job will be taken over by Xiao Li. Remember, don’t affect Classmate’ Studying.”

Song Zhiyuan’s whole body went rigid, and the last bit of color drained completely from his face.

This was the prelude to being fired.

”Director, I’m being wronged here. I was just helping the company and Students make contact—I was doing it for Students’ own good.” As he spoke, he pointed at Du Xuejing, ”I never said anything about failing Students; this is her slandering me.

Director, you can’t just listen to her one‑sided story because she’s Du Heng’s Niece.

That’s using power for personal gain. I refuse to accept it.”

Director Zhao’s face turned cold at once, but his tone became even more even, ”Mr. Song, I haven’t even given any disciplinary decision yet.

I already said, I’ll investigate this thoroughly.

Relax, don’t let your Heart run wild. The School will definitely give you a fair and just outcome.”

He gave a slight wave of his hand as he spoke, ”Alright, go back. Treat these days as a holiday, don’t let it affect your good mood.

Have a good rest. Once the investigation is clear and the matter is wrapped up, you can come back to work.”

Seeing that Song Zhiyuan still wanted to speak, Director Zhao once again took the initiative, ”Alright, hurry back, don’t worry.”

This time, though, his tone had become a bit impatient.

This kid was like a pig, completely blind to the subtleties of expression. He was trying to patch Things up for him, and the kid just wouldn’t give him the chance.

With a cold face, after sending Song Zhiyuan off, Director Zhao looked at Du Heng full of apology and said, ”Mr. Du, this is my fault, my failure in management. Don’t worry, I will definitely deal with this whole thing seriously, give Classmate Du Xuejing justice, and restore a clear sky to the School.”

Tsk tsk, impressive.

Du Heng’s lips twitched slightly, but what he said was, ”Then I’ll trouble you with this, Director. This Girl has been raised by me since she was little—calling her the flesh of my Heart is not an exaggeration at all.”

Director Zhao gave a fawning smile, ”I understand, I can understand how you feel, Mr. Du.”

”If Director has no other matters, why don’t we go have a Meal together?” In the end, Du Heng extended an invitation to Director Zhao.

Director Zhao hesitated a little, ”Is that appropriate?”

”What’s inappropriate? That Director Zhang is straightforward and generous, a very bold and magnanimous person. And someone as capable and decisive as you, Director—people will be lining up to be friends with you.”

Half resisting and half consenting, Director Zhao agreed to Du Heng’s invitation.

And as for Du Xuejing, the one directly involved, she obviously had to go too; without her, the whole gathering Du Heng was setting up today would lose its meaning.

Of course, if Du Xuejing was going, then the Classmate who had been cheering and shouting for her naturally had to go too.

If they couldn’t loosen up once they got there, just give these Girls their own table, let them enjoy themselves—that would solve it.

When they arrived, besides Zhang Shiping, there was also the woman Gu Qinghong present, which made Du Heng’s head ache in waves.

They had barely chatted for a bit before Zhang Shiping took the lead in greeting everyone, ”Du, if we’re all here, let’s start eating.

We’ve been busy all day; we need to fill our stomachs properly.”

Du Heng smiled, ”Alright, we’ll do as you say, Zhang.”

Before they officially picked up their chopsticks, Gu Qinghong went to the restroom. Du Heng seized the opportunity and quietly asked Zhang Shiping, ”Zhang, why’d you bring this Girl along?”

Zhang Shiping chuckled, ”What, I bring along one more person and you’re unhappy?”

Du Heng shook his head, ”Zhang, what are you saying? Even if you’d brought ten, that’d just be introducing more friends to me.

But, Zhang, don’t tell me you haven’t noticed that this Girl and I don’t get along?”

That sent Zhang Shiping into fits of amusement. He laughed and said, ”To tell you the truth, brother, I did see that you don’t get along with her, but I really didn’t see that she doesn’t get along with you.

Come on, tell your brother, what exactly is going on between you two?”

Du Heng hesitated. He wasn’t sure how close Zhang Shiping and Gu Qinghong really were; if he said the wrong thing, he wouldn’t just offend Gu Qinghong, he’d end up offending Zhang Shiping as well.

A slick old hand like Zhang Shiping could easily spot Du Heng’s concern, so he said quietly, ”I’ve only just gotten to know Gu Qinghong. My Dad and her dad work in the same hospital.

This Girl has been in the Capital for treatment lately, that’s how we met.

So relax, say whatever you need to say.”

With that assurance from Zhang Shiping, Du Heng felt a bit more at ease. ”Zhang, since you said she’s here for treatment, you must know what illness she has.

And her illness is entirely related to her own personality and emotions. If her personality doesn’t fundamentally change, her illness will never be cured at the root.”

Du Heng glanced sidelong at the door, then looked at the smiling Director Zhao, and only then continued quietly, ”I don’t know if you’ve noticed, Zhang, but this Girl is narrow‑minded, stubborn, and extremely self‑centered.

If we stay in contact for a long time and one day we somehow upset her, and she gets overly emotional and suddenly has another episode, whose fault would that be?

I’m just a small guy with a small life; I don’t dare blindly get involved with her.”

He gave a wry smile as he spoke, ”And another thing, this Girl’s horoscope clashes with my Wife’s. During the recent training, she kept picking fights with my Wife over every little thing.

Even though she hasn’t shown anything too strong while she’s been sick, and even actively pushed me to step in, a woman’s Heart is like a needle at the bottom of the sea—who can say what she’s thinking now?

And I can’t guarantee whether she’ll keep picking fights with my Wife in the future either.

So the best way, for now, is to keep my distance from this Girl.

Between us, it’s best to keep things strictly at the Patient–Doctor level.”

Zhang Shiping nodded repeatedly as he listened, ”I haven’t noticed the other stuff you mentioned, but this stubbornness—I’ve experienced that first‑hand.

Brother, I have no idea what’s going on in this Girl’s head.

But ever since she found out about my relationship with you, she’s been pestering me every day to ask you out for a Meal. She’s driving me crazy.”

As he spoke, Zhang Shiping shook his head helplessly, ”Alright, let’s stop whispering.

You don’t drink Alcohol, which makes this Meal boring. Luckily, Director is here today, so I’ll have a couple of good drinks with Director.”

Director Zhao was also a man of the scene; unlike Du Heng, who went down after one glass, he was a seasoned veteran tested on the battlefield of Alcohol. Lifting his glass, he began drinking heartily with Zhang Shiping.

Just as Everyone was chatting happily, the door of the private room was pushed open, and a middle-aged man with slicked-back hair and gold-rimmed glasses, scholarly and refined, walked in.
