”Pidgeotto, land here.”

At Chen Mo’s call, the Pidgeotto circling overhead descended swiftly, finally touching down on a patch of grass.

Chen Mo jumped off its back and gave it a light pat.

Understanding immediately, Pidgeotto let out a crisp cry and soared back into the sky.

”So this is the place…”

Ahead lay a dense forest.

As Chen Mo walked forward, he carefully observed his surroundings.

He quickly noticed—

deep scratches carved into many tree trunks.

Combining this with what Ah Hui described earlier,

Chen Mo already had a rough guess.

But something still didn’t add up.

Pidgeotto had lived in Hongjingpo Forest for quite a long time.

Although this area was slightly outside its usual territory—

that didn’t mean it had never been here.

Yet according to Pidgeotto,

there had never been any Pokémon group living here before.

With that doubt in mind,

Chen Mo pushed through a tall patch of bushes—

and looked up.

A clearing opened before him.

A massive ancient tree towered overhead, its thick canopy blocking most of the sky.

Only scattered rays of sunlight filtered through, illuminating the grass below.

The entire scene felt dreamlike—

like stepping into a fairy tale.

”Mo-ge, over here!”

A familiar voice called out.

Ah Hui stepped out from behind a tree, waving, his expression slightly helpless.

Then—

a small head peeked out from behind him.

Its red eyes were filled with curiosity.

[A Pokémon we haven’t seen before!]

[Kinda… ugly-cute?]

[What do you mean ugly, it’s adorable!]

[Hui-ge said they were surrounded—this is what he meant?]

[Surrounded by something this cute? I’d gladly accept.]

It had an oval-shaped head.

A tall horn on its dark green crown.

And most notably—

two white tusks protruding from the sides of its mouth.

Chen Mo took a glance at the rapidly scrolling chat.

Then calmly said:

”This Pokémon is called Axew. It’s a relatively rare Dragon-type Pokémon. They usually live in groups. Generally speaking, if you see one Axew in the wild, it means nearby there are likely—”

Before he could finish—

small heads began popping out everywhere.

From treetops.

From bushes.

From behind the giant tree.

[Axew… so many Axew!!!]

[Rare, but once you find them it’s a whole nest 😂]

[Wait—Dragon-type again?!]

[Is this the second Dragon-type we’ve seen?]

[Second? Third, right? Hydreigon, Aerodactyl, and now Axew]

[Bro, Aerodactyl isn’t Dragon-type, pay attention in class]

[What?? It has ”dragon” in the name!]

[If you’re a dragon, then so am I]

Chen Mo ignored the chaotic chat.

Because—

larger figures had appeared.

From behind the massive tree,

several imposing silhouettes stepped forward.

Fraxure.

Haxorus.

Chen Mo wasn’t surprised.

Since they were a social species,

it was natural for Axew’s evolutions to be present.

”…Quite a large tribe.”

He murmured.

But the doubt returned.

In the Pokémon world,

Dragon-types are typically rare—

and powerful.

Especially Haxorus.

Among dragons, it ranks comfortably in the upper tiers.

In all of Hongjingpo Forest,

there probably weren’t many Pokémon stronger than it.

So how could such a powerful, noticeable group—

have gone completely unnoticed by Pidgeotto before?

Something was off.

Noticing Chen Mo’s slight frown,

Ah Hui quickly stepped closer and whispered:

”Mo-ge, don’t worry.”

”They don’t seem hostile.”

”Earlier, some Axew even brought us fresh berries to eat.”

”The bigger ones were watching nearby too.”

”…They gave you berries?”

Chen Mo was stunned.

[What?! Axew are THIS friendly?!]

[The big ones are their evolutions right? That Haxorus looks insanely cool]

[Strong AND friendly?? I’m in love]

[Mo-ge, are Axew always this nice?]

Chen Mo glanced at the chat—

but didn’t answer immediately.

Thanks to the anime,

he was quite familiar with the Axew line.

Generally speaking—

Axew are indeed gentle and kind-natured Pokémon.

Even after evolving into Haxorus,

while they become less lively,

they remain relatively mild-tempered.

However—

there was one important point.

While not as territorial as Beedrill,

Axew still defend their territory fiercely.

If angered—

they would respond with overwhelming aggression.

Of course—

if someone merely wandered in by accident,

they would usually just drive them away.

But—

bringing humans directly into their core territory…

and even offering them food?

That was highly abnormal.

Chen Mo didn’t voice these thoughts.

Because—

he still didn’t fully understand the situation.

No need to rush the explanation.

Better to figure things out first.

Ignoring the restless chat,

Chen Mo activated Detecting Eye on the three Haxorus.

He skipped most of the data—

and focused on one thing first:

Affinity.

The result—

made his eyes narrow slightly.

The three Haxorus—

had an average favorability of

30%.
