As a minor, Mo Yu naturally didn’t have the stamina of the adult men in the group.

But she wasn’t someone who liked relying on others.

And in such a dangerous situation, suddenly calling for help might only make things worse for everyone.

So—

after avoiding everyone’s line of sight, Mo Yu chose to break away from the group and ran down another path.

One of the Beedrill chasing them immediately split off and pursued her.

She didn’t know how far she had run.

But at some point—

the buzzing that had been pressing on her like the footsteps of death suddenly disappeared.

She stopped.

Turned around.

In the dim, dense forest—

the massive yellow wasp Pokémon was gone without a trace.

Silence.

Only her uncontrollable heavy breathing remained.

”…Did I make it?”

Mo Yu dropped onto the ground.

Her heart pounded wildly.

Her whole body ached.

But—

her mind was strangely clear.

Her eyes sparkled with excitement.

Compared to the dull, repetitive routine of city life—

this first experience in the wild felt overwhelmingly thrilling.

So this is what adventure feels like?

And I actually outran a Beedrill?!

Then—

a thought suddenly struck her.

She wasn’t exactly athletic.

Running 800 meters usually left her exhausted.

She even tried to skip morning exercises at school whenever possible.

So how could she possibly outrun a Beedrill?

”…That’s weird.”

Just as confusion set in—

she noticed something out of the corner of her eye.

A deep scratch mark—

on the trunk of a nearby tree.

It looked fresh.

Clearly left by some large creature.

After standing up—

she realized:

Many trees around her had similar marks.

”…Did I… accidentally enter another Pokémon’s territory?”

Recalling what happened in the flower field—

Mo Yu immediately felt the need to leave.

Chen Mo had explained before:

Some wild Pokémon are extremely territorial.

Intruders are met with immediate aggression.

And judging by these markings—

this Pokémon was definitely not friendly.

Just as she started moving—

the bushes ahead rustled.

The next moment—

a small, cadmium-green Pokémon stepped out, holding a berry.

It tilted its head.

Looked at the frozen Mo Yu.

And let out a curious sound.

”Axew?”

——

Meanwhile—

No replies to messages.

Calls connected—but unanswered.

Although Chen Mo was confident that Beedrill wouldn’t harm Mo Yu—

he couldn’t guarantee she wouldn’t run into other dangers while fleeing.

After thinking it through—

he mounted Pidgeotto—

and began searching through Hongjingpo Forest.

The livestream had already started.

And opinions in the chat were divided.

[Trying to capture Pokémon in the wild is way too dangerous. Remember—we’re not Mo-ge.]

[Yeah, Hui-ge was too impulsive. If he had just contacted Mo-ge earlier, none of this would’ve happened.]

[He said Mo-ge hasn’t been home these days. He couldn’t even find him.]

[Then send a message?? That’s what phones are for!]

[Stop hindsight blaming. This was always a risk. That’s what adventure means.]

[Adventure? And now they need Mo-ge to clean it up?]

[Enough arguing. Finding the missing person is what matters.]

[Honestly, the authorities should step in. Most of us are ordinary people—we can’t take these risks.]

[Exactly. One bad encounter with an aggressive Pokémon, and it’s a disaster.]

Chen Mo watched the chat silently while directing Pidgeotto.

He didn’t respond.

Arguments were pointless right now.

Everyone had their own perspective.

Some embraced risk.

Others couldn’t afford it.

But—

this situation raised an important issue.

Humans in this world were gradually improving physically after Pokémon appeared—

but compared to humans in the Pokémon world—

they were still far behind.

People there could tank a Thunderbolt.

Here?

Not even close.

The reason Chen Mo dared to enter forests alone—

was because of Aura

It allowed him to sense danger in advance.

Even then—

he remembered how tense he was the first time.

Later—

after meeting Pichu—

gaining some ability to respond—

and confirming most wild Pokémon weren’t hostile—

he gradually became more confident.

”…This is a problem.”

Different situations required different solutions.

Some viewers were right.

At this stage—

the authorities needed to step in.

In the original Pokémon world—

Professors give new trainers starter Pokémon.

In this world—

they couldn’t hand out starter Pokémon like that.

But—

the Pokémon in the Ecological Park under the Strategy Bureau?

They were carefully selected.

Non-aggressive.

Friendly toward humans.

Not the strongest.

Not the most talented.

But—

perfect for beginners.

”…I should talk to Professor Zhou about this.”

Just as Chen Mo was thinking—

his phone vibrated.

He answered.

Ah Hui’s voice came through:

”Mo-ge, Haoran found Mo Yu.”

”I sent you the location.”

”…Can you go check on her?”

”Something feels… off.”
