At first, Pikachu felt a little embarrassed.

But after Chen Mo repeatedly asked, Pikachu finally revealed the reason why it didn’t want to evolve into Raichu.

Back when Pikachu was still a little Pichu, Chen Mo would sometimes look at the small Pichu sitting on his shoulder while eating snacks and joke:

”Pichu, be careful not to get too fat. If you get too heavy and I can’t carry you anymore, you’ll have to walk by yourself.”

Every time it heard that, little Pichu would stare at the food in its hands for a long time—then sadly give it up.

Back then Chen Mo had simply found it amusing.

He never expected that this small matter had left such a deep impression on Pichu.

Later, when Chen Mo privately explained the differences between Pikachu and Raichu, Pichu learned that Raichu became bigger and chubbier compared to Pichu and Pikachu.

Even though Pichu didn’t say anything at the time, it quietly remembered that fact.

So although it had just evolved, Pikachu—who already felt noticeably rounder compared to when it was Pichu—had been feeling a bit anxious.

And almost touching the Thunder Stone earlier and evolving straight into Raichu had scared Pikachu badly.

Just a little closer…

Just a little more and it would’ve become a big, heavy, chubby Pokémon!

”So that’s the reason…”

Chen Mo couldn’t help laughing.

It was true that after evolving into Raichu, Pikachu’s height and weight increased a lot.

But even so, a normal Raichu was only about one meter tall and weighed roughly 30 kilograms.

Chen Mo felt that although he wasn’t some superhuman like Ash, he should still be able to pick up a Raichu occasionally.

However—

After hearing Chen Mo say that, Pikachu quickly shook its head again.

It carefully avoided the Thunder Stone in Chen Mo’s hand, climbed up onto Chen Mo’s shoulder, and settled into its usual spot.

”Pika~”

Pikachu let out a comfortable, satisfied cry.

Seeing that expression, Chen Mo already understood the answer.

He turned to the still-dazed Electabuzz and smiled slightly.

Then he extended the hand holding the Thunder Stone.

”Electabuzz, it seems Pikachu won’t need this stone for now.”

”You should take it back.”

”Bzzt.”

Electabuzz shook its head.

With Pikachu translating, Electabuzz explained that since the stone could be useful to Pikachu someday, it would leave it with Chen Mo instead.

Chen Mo and Pikachu could decide what to do with it later.

After saying that, Electabuzz suddenly shot Pikachu a battle-ready look.

”Bzzt!”

Electabuzz had seen Pikachu’s performance earlier while fighting Hydreigon.

Since it was a Pokémon that constantly pursued strength, Electabuzz longed to battle Pikachu again.

This time, it had nothing to do with grudges.

It simply wanted a true battle.

But Pikachu hesitated.

The reason it had once hated Electabuzz so much—and wanted desperately to defeat it—was because Electabuzz had attacked Chen Mo without reason.

Now that Electabuzz had already apologized, the anger Pikachu once held had mostly faded.

Besides, during Haunter’s dream-training sessions, Pikachu had already fought Electabuzz countless times.

More importantly—

Pikachu originally wanted to defeat Electabuzz as Pichu.

But now it had already evolved into Pikachu.

Meanwhile Electabuzz was still in its basic form.

The battle would be unfair.

After thinking for a while, Pikachu ultimately refused.

”Bzzt…”

Electabuzz looked disappointed.

Then—

Pikachu jumped down from Chen Mo’s shoulder.

It walked up to Electabuzz and grabbed both of Electabuzz’s hands with its small paws.

”Pika! Pika pika!”

”Bzzt…”

Electabuzz looked at Pikachu.

The little electric mouse’s eyes sparkled as it spoke.

After hesitating for a moment, Electabuzz nodded firmly.

Since the viewers couldn’t understand Pokémon language, the chat immediately urged Chen Mo to translate.

Chen Mo smiled and explained:

”Pikachu said that it heard some things about Electabuzz from Roselia.”

”It understands that Electabuzz also has things it wants to protect through strength.”

”But unfortunately, both of them are still too weak right now.”

”So their previous battles don’t really mean much.”

”Instead, Pikachu suggested saving their battle for the future—”

”When both of them have grown strong enough to protect what they want to protect, they’ll have a proper battle then.”

The more Chen Mo translated, the stranger he felt.

Would my Pikachu really say something like that?

Chen Mo clearly remembered when he first met Pichu.

Back then he had simply lured the little guy with a bottle of ketchup.

That Pichu definitely didn’t seem like the kind of Pokémon who would say something so profound.

Could it be that evolving into Pikachu had suddenly matured it so much?

Something about it felt… strange.

Pikachu’s earlier panic over the Thunder Stone and its current ”big brother lecture” to Electabuzz felt like two completely different personalities.

However, the livestream audience didn’t overthink it like Chen Mo did.

Instead, they filled the chat with emotional reactions.

[It grew up… it really grew up! I’ve watched this kid grow from Pichu to Pikachu!]

[I finally understand how Haunter felt earlier.]

[Wait—Pikachu’s tail tip is straight. According to Mo-bao’s science lessons, that means it’s a male Pikachu, right?]

[A little gentleman Pikachu? Even cuter!]

While the viewers sighed like proud parents, Chen Mo looked at Electabuzz.

Thanks to Detection Eye, he could see that Electabuzz’s affection toward him had risen to around +10.

Not very high.

But considering it used to be negative dozens, recovering to a positive number in one day was already impressive.

After thinking for a moment, Chen Mo’s eyes flickered slightly.

He looked at the two Pokémon holding hands like brothers.

Then he spoke softly to Electabuzz.

”Electabuzz, I understand that some humans may have left bad impressions on you.”

”But not all humans are the same.”

”If you’re willing… I’d like to take you with us.”

”Come with me and Pikachu and the others.”

”Leave this forest and see the human world again.”

Chen Mo’s sudden proposal stunned both Electabuzz and Pikachu.

Then Pikachu broke into a bright smile.

It didn’t mind Electabuzz joining the team at all, so it immediately started encouraging Electabuzz alongside Chen Mo.

However…

Electabuzz stared at Chen Mo.

After a long silence—

It shook its head.

And firmly refused.

”Bzzt! Bzzt bzzt!” ⚡
