Pokémon Invasion: Explaining Pokémon to Save the World

BONUS CHAPTER

Anping City Criminal Investigation Division Headquarters.

After receiving the emergency notice, Officer Wang and the others had already gathered to watch the livestream. As they stared at the massive screen, tension was unmistakable on their faces.

Countless viewers who had stayed up late were glued to their screens, palms sweating as they watched the sphere of lightning explode in the sky.

[You’ve got to win!]

[That new move—Thunderbolt—looks insanely strong. This time it has to work!]

[I’m so nervous.]

Chen Mo felt the same.

His Aura had limited range. He couldn’t clearly sense what was happening within the explosion above.

Then—

A small yellow figure fell rapidly from the smoke.

Pikachu.

Haunter, ever protective, moved faster still—catching Pikachu midair before it could hit the ground, then floating quickly back to Chen Mo’s side.

Hydreigon… wasn’t falling.

Chen Mo clenched his fists.

The smoke gradually cleared.

Hydreigon reappeared.

It looked terrible. Its body was scorched black in many places, burned by Thunderbolt. Compared to before, it was in miserable shape.

But—

it was still hovering in the sky, staring coldly at Chen Mo and his Pokémon.

”ROOOAR!!!”

Another deafening roar echoed.

Yet this time, when facing the four Pokémon below, there was unmistakable caution in Hydreigon’s eyes.

Still, Hydreigon hadn’t become the overlord of Evergreen Forest by being foolish.

Severely injured by Thunderbolt, it had finally calmed down—and quickly reassessed its advantage.

It climbed higher.

Dragon-type energy gathered once more in its mouth.

”Scatter!”

Under Chen Mo’s command, the four Pokémon—and Chen Mo himself—dove for cover at just the right moment.

But Hydreigon had already found its solution.

One failure meant nothing.

As long as it maintained altitude, Pikachu and Roselia could no longer threaten it.

As for Haunter—if it dared approach the sky again, Hydreigon would make it understand who truly ruled this forest.

”Think… I have to think of something…”

Chen Mo rapidly analyzed his team’s condition and available moves, along with Hydreigon’s behavior.

Then—

it began to rain.

Thick clouds had gathered overhead at some unknown moment. Droplets fell—then intensified into a torrential downpour.

”It’s raining…”

Chen Mo frowned.

Rain itself didn’t matter much.

But he wondered—would there be thunder?

Just then—

he noticed something.

Hydreigon had suddenly stopped moving.

Its gaze was locked—not on them—but in another direction entirely.

From that section of the forest, a dense mist was rising.

Chen Mo froze.

Rain and fog?

But soon, viewers began offering explanations.

[Usually fog forms during prolonged light rain or drizzle. This kind of sudden heavy downpour creating thick fog? That’s rare.]

[I get that—but why did Hydreigon suddenly freeze?]

[The atmosphere feels… weird.]

Hydreigon wasn’t the only one who sensed it.

Very quickly—

Chen Mo and the other Pokémon also felt an indescribable pressure spreading from within the misty forest.

Near the edge of the crater, the defeated Aerodactyl slowly regained consciousness under the rain. It too became fixated on the mist, standing unsteadily, eyes filled with confusion and caution.

Only one Pokémon reacted differently.

Absol.

The tension that had filled its expression earlier eased the moment it saw the mist.

Then—

Chen Mo saw it.

A familiar silhouette within the fog.

A gust of wind swept through.

The mist parted slightly.

And the figure stepped into view.

A hexagonal crest like sapphire upon its head. Two white ribbon-like tails flowing behind. Light steps emerging from the mist. Blue and white patterns adorned its body. A purple mane streamed freely, untouched by the rain.

It carried an air of mystery beyond description.

[This Pokémon…]

[Is it just me, or does it feel like the rain and fog were all setting up for its entrance?]

[Just showing up made every Pokémon—including Hydreigon—freeze. What level is this thing?]

[They call Hydreigon the overlord of Evergreen Forest, but this newcomer has way more presence…]

[Pseudo-legendary? Or…?]

The livestream erupted with speculation.

But Chen Mo, staring at the figure, suddenly recalled the heavy fog they had encountered when they first arrived in Evergreen Forest.

So you were already there back then…

He looked at the elegant silhouette—whose mere presence had forced Hydreigon to halt its attack.

The crushing pressure in his heart eased slightly.

”So it really is you… Suicune.”

[Suicune? Damn, that name hits hard.]

[The way Mo-baby said it… this definitely isn’t an ordinary Pokémon. Can you explain?]

[He probably doesn’t even have time to read chat right now…]

Rain poured down relentlessly.

Hydreigon stared at the newly appeared Suicune. Its tension grew visible. Its movements restless.

It had never encountered such a Pokémon in Evergreen Forest before.

But as the forest’s overlord, Hydreigon could sense the extraordinary power before it.

Normally, the pressure from its superior life level alone was enough to scatter all forest Pokémon.

But now—

the roles had reversed.

Watching the silent standoff between Hydreigon and Suicune, Chen Mo didn’t even think of checking the livestream.

He already knew what everyone wanted to ask.

He spoke slowly.

”As many of you guessed… Suicune is one of the Legendary Pokémon.”

”It is often called the embodiment of the North Wind.”
