Work and life had to be kept separate.

After returning home, Chen Mo did a single stream to briefly introduce the current situation in Anping City to his fans.

Then—

He entered full ”laid-back mode.”

For the next several days, he didn’t stream at all.

Of course, that didn’t mean he was idle.

While enjoying a peaceful daily life, Chen Mo made several trips to the Countermeasure Bureau with his Pokémon.

Aside from checking on the progress of the Poké Ball project, his main goal was to see whether the researchers had developed any cube-type food suitable for his other Pokémon.

Even if these cubes didn’t yet match the magical effects of true Pokéblocks, they were still excellent for feeding Pokémon.

Especially for Gastly.

Because of how portable they were, Chen Mo no longer needed to prepare berry soups during dream-training sessions.

Just toss a bottle of cubes—

Problem solved.

Perfect.

During this time, Chen Mo also had an in-depth discussion with Professor Zhou about Pokémon poachers.

He learned that the leader of the poaching group responsible for the Hydreigon incident had already been captured.

This man—bold enough to hunt Pokémon with a shotgun—had committed numerous crimes.

According to Professor Zhou:

”Life imprisonment is basically guaranteed.”

As for the poacher organization as a whole—

Although there were no specific laws targeting them yet, preparations were already underway.

After all, the Bureau had fully committed to the path of human-Pokémon coexistence.

Groups like poachers, which only intensified conflict, would inevitably face strict suppression.

Hearing this, Chen Mo finally felt relieved.

Even his mood lightened considerably.

The rest of his time—

He devoted entirely to his Pokémon.

These days, Chen Mo woke up early every morning and led his team through a structured training routine.

Sometimes he even added extra sessions, focusing on refining specific skills.

With Gastly’s help, Pikachu had already successfully learned Discharge from its battle with Elekid.

And during training, it also mastered Volt Tackle as a contact-based electric move.

But as Pikachu learned more skills—

Chen Mo realized something important:

They needed to make choices.

Even wild Elekid understood this.

It pursued stronger electric techniques and abandoned excessive skill diversification.

Both humans and Pokémon had limited energy.

Focusing on fewer skills often yielded better results.

So despite Pikachu’s talent for learning new moves—

Chen Mo decided not to over-train everything.

For now, Pikachu’s core moveset was:

AgilityQuick AttackThunderbolt

However—

There was still a problem.

All of Pikachu’s main offensive moves were Electric-type.

That limited its coverage.

So Chen Mo began trying to teach Pikachu a new move:

Iron Tail.

In the original anime, Ash’s Pikachu learned Iron Tail during the Hoenn journey.

It became one of Pikachu’s key techniques—

Even helping defeat Steven’s ace, Shiny Metagross.

In short:

Iron Tail was an excellent move for Pikachu.

It improved type coverage and compensated for its close-combat weaknesses.

Unfortunately—

Progress was slow.

Chen Mo had tried to replicate Ash’s training methods.

But Pikachu showed no signs of mastering Iron Tail yet.

After all—

It was a Steel-type move, not its natural element.

In the anime, Pikachu had other Pokémon demonstrating the move.

Here—

Chen Mo could only explain it verbally.

Which made learning much harder.

”Alright, let’s stop for today.”

At Chen Mo’s call, all the Pokémon stopped training.

Pikachu looked a bit discouraged.

Its tail strength had clearly improved—

But it was still far from what Chen Mo described as Iron Tail.

”Gastly~ Gastly~”

Gastly, acting as the assistant coach, floated over to comfort Pikachu.

Pidgeotto followed, landing nearby.

Even Absol, though silent, watched Pikachu with quiet concern.

Seeing this, Chen Mo fell into thought.

From past experience—

If Pikachu could see Iron Tail performed once, its learning speed would likely improve dramatically.

”…Maybe it’s time to go out and try our luck.”

Originally, Chen Mo planned to stay local until Poké Balls were developed.

But now—

A short outing sounded reasonable.

If they happened to encounter a Pokémon that knew Iron Tail—

That would be even better.

Meanwhile—

Back at home, Haoran was still thinking about what happened earlier that day.

He had accepted Ah Hui’s invitation.

In truth—

Even if Ah Hui hadn’t asked, Haoran already knew about the plan.

Because it originated from the ”Pokémon Cabin” group.

Recently, with the new policies in place, more and more people interested in Pokémon had moved to Anping City.

Many of them were group members.

As discussions grew—

Someone proposed:

”Why not organize a group trip outside the city to find Pokémon?”

After all—

Going alone into forests was scary.

But in a group?

That was different.

So not long after Ah Hui returned—

With him as a leading figure—

They finally set a date.

They would head out together.

To meet—

And perhaps even bond with—

The mysterious creatures from another world.

A new generation was about to begin.
