BONUS CHAPTER

Along the way, the devastation caused by Hydreigon was visible everywhere—but this particular area was especially disastrous.

Broken rocks littered the ground, and at the center lay a massive crater that had clearly been blasted open by sheer force. It was obvious how much ”attention” Hydreigon had given this place.

Chen Mo slid off Absol’s back and was about to step forward when a sound rose from deep within the crater.

”Roselia…”

Soon, a green figure climbed up from below.

In its left and right hands bloomed a blue rose and a red rose. From the roses extended two long green vines, each lifting a Pokémon.

Perched on Chen Mo’s shoulder, Pichu immediately noticed the yellow Pokémon hanging from the vine on the right.

”Pichu!”

There was no need for the reminder—Chen Mo had already seen it.

Electabuzz.

And according to the information displayed by his Insight Eye, this was undoubtedly the same Electabuzz they had encountered by the Greenriver.

But…

Why was it here? And how had it ended up so gravely injured?

Chen Mo frowned.

Electabuzz’s status panel was dyed blood-red—Critical Condition—a constant warning that this Pokémon was on the brink of death.

At that moment, Roselia—who had just emerged from the pit—also noticed the conspicuous human standing nearby.

Recalling what had happened earlier, hatred instantly flared in its eyes. Carefully setting the two Pokémon down, it shifted back into a battle stance.

Seeing the change in Roselia, Chen Mo quickly called out—

”Roselia, wait!”

But it was useless.

Consumed entirely by rage, Roselia paid no attention to him. With a flick of its wrists, it launched a barrage of Magical Leaf. Glowing green leaves shot from its roses, forming a swirling storm.

”Ko-jie!”

Before Chen Mo even had to speak, Haunter—lurking in his shadow—flashed into position in front of Chen Mo and Pichu.

A dark indigo barrier materialized, intercepting the storm of leaves.

Seeing Roselia preparing to attack again, Haunter—faster by far—emitted a strange beam from its eyes. The ray struck Roselia directly, plunging it into confusion.

”Roselia…”

Clutching its head, Roselia dropped to one knee.

Chen Mo’s voice rang out again.

”Please calm down, Roselia. We mean you no harm. And the Electabuzz behind you—if it doesn’t receive treatment immediately, it will die.”

As he spoke, Chen Mo removed his backpack and took out a Revive Shard, holding it up for Roselia to see.

”This can save it. Can you let me through?”

Some viewers in the livestream were instantly baffled.

[Mo-baby, are you crazy? That’s Electabuzz!]

[Why risk saving it? Didn’t the last incident teach you enough?]

[And Pichu’s right there on your shoulder—won’t it feel bad seeing you save its rival?]

The tension was palpable—both in the livestream and on the ground.

Roselia didn’t move aside.

Then—

Pichu leapt from Chen Mo’s shoulder and stood before Roselia, glaring fiercely.

”Pichu! Pichu-pichu!”

It pointed emphatically toward the dying Electabuzz.

Faced with a life hanging by a thread, Pichu—like Chen Mo—could not betray its heart. It could not choose to stand by and watch.

Roselia still hesitated.

Chen Mo considered having Haunter restrain it so he could force his way through—

but then, Roselia, seemingly recovered from confusion, slowly rose.

It shook its head, glanced at Pichu, then at Chen Mo.

And finally—

it stepped aside.

”Thank you for your trust.”

Chen Mo nodded gently before hurrying to Electabuzz’s side.

Lifting the yellow Pokémon again, Chen Mo saw just how dire its condition was—far worse than before.

As he prepared to administer the Revive Shard, something caught his eye.

The wounds on Electabuzz’s body were not the kind inflicted by Pokémon attacks.

At that very moment, viewers watching through the camera reached the same conclusion.

[Those wounds… they look like bullet injuries.]

[Definitely. And it looks like the bullets are still lodged inside.]

[Wait. So after leaving Mo-baby, Electabuzz ran into other people—with guns?]

[Evergreen Forest isn’t a hunting zone. That means illegal poachers. I’ve heard about this—some idiots have started targeting Pokémon. If that’s true, they’re the ones who shot it.]

[Actually… Mo-baby once said Electabuzz normally wouldn’t hate humans this much. Could it have clashed with poachers before? Maybe that’s why it came to despise all humans?]

Chen Mo’s grip tightened around the Revive Shard, his mood turning heavy.

He turned to Haunter.

”Can you remove what’s inside those wounds?”

Following his gesture, Haunter let out a low chuckle, eyes glowing once more.

For a Pokémon that had already mastered advanced psychic techniques like Dream Eater, this was a trivial task.

As Electabuzz’s mouth parted slightly from the pain, Chen Mo seized the opportunity and fed the entire Revive Shard into it.

Just then—

a bloodcurdling scream erupted from the crater Roselia had climbed out of.

”Is someone still down there?”

After confirming that the Revive Shard had begun taking effect, Chen Mo gently set Electabuzz down and, with Pichu back on his shoulder, cautiously approached the crater.

Under the moonlight—

a figure with crimson eyes suddenly leapt upward.

Cold silver light reflected off the twin scythes it raised high, murderous intent radiating outward.

”Scyther!”
