Pokémon Invasion: Explaining Pokémon to Save the World

BONUS CHAPTER

It wasn’t just Chen Mo who was stunned—everyone in the livestream was too.

A giant question mark appeared in everyone’s mind.

Why… was Absol acting so intimately with Suicune?

One was known as a disaster Pokémon, the other the embodiment of the north wind. While such labels didn’t really exist among Pokémon themselves, the two still didn’t seem like they should have any connection.

Just then—

Suicune walked toward Chen Mo with Absol.

They stopped about three meters in front of him.

Two ruby-like eyes gazed at Chen Mo, who was surrounded by his Pokémon.

Then a gentle voice—soft like the north wind—echoed directly in Chen Mo’s mind.

”Brave one of ideals, thank you for taking care of Absol.”

After everything strange that had already happened with Suicune tonight, Chen Mo wasn’t surprised by this method of communication.

But ”Brave one of ideals”?

Did Suicune sense the power of Zekrom?

Chen Mo glanced down at the pendant on his chest and recalled the advice Mr. Arthurs had once given him.

After hesitating for a moment, he decided to ask. Opportunities to meet a Legendary Pokémon like Suicune were rare.

But then he suddenly remembered—

the livestream was still running.

Suicune could send its voice directly into his mind, but Chen Mo didn’t have that ability.

Should he temporarily end the stream?

When Pichu evolved earlier, the blue lightning arc had already caught the audience’s attention. If Zekrom’s bead was exposed now, Chen Mo felt like he’d be playing with fire.

While he was still hesitating, Suicune noticed the change in his expression.

Its ruby-red eyes glowed faintly.

In the next moment—

Chen Mo felt as though everything around him had frozen.

Even his vision shifted into something like the black-and-white perception of Aura Vision.

The entire world fell silent.

Only Suicune before him remained unchanged, maintaining its elegant, dignified posture—like a divine being overseeing everything.

”This is…?”

”Brave one of ideals, there is no need to worry. I have borrowed a portion of your spiritual energy. Until that energy dissipates, you may speak freely without concern.”

Wow… it can even do that?

With Suicune’s help, Chen Mo finally asked his question.

”Um… Suicune. Earlier you called me the Brave One of Ideals. I want to ask—where can I find Zekrom? I was entrusted with returning this part of its power.”

”...”

A strange look appeared in Suicune’s eyes.

Then it gently shook its head.

”I do not know either. But since you have gained its recognition, one day it will appear before you.”

”I see…”

Chen Mo couldn’t hide his disappointment.

The answer was basically the same as what Mr. Arthurs had told him before.

He suppressed the disappointment and glanced at Absol beside Suicune.

”May I ask… you and Absol…”

Suicune looked at Absol warmly before replying.

”This child was the first Pokémon I saved after arriving in this world. It has always wished to help me, which is why it made such an unreasonable request to you.”

”It’s fine, really.”

Chen Mo quickly waved his hands.

But just as he was about to say something polite, he suddenly realized something extremely important in Suicune’s words.

Arriving in this world.

Chen Mo had once discussed the origin of Pokémon with Professor Zhou.

According to their investigations, Pokémon had appeared in this world with no warning.

They simply began appearing naturally across mountains, rivers, and forests.

Satellite recordings had shown strange scenes: an empty clearing would suddenly produce a Pokémon stepping out of thin air.

From their behavior, researchers believed many Pokémon themselves didn’t understand what had happened.

Of course—

this sudden environmental change alarmed many Pokémon.

Some even became restless and aggressive.

Most early conflicts between humans and Pokémon had happened during that chaotic period.

Even though researchers like Professor Zhou had now accepted Pokémon’s existence, they were still desperately trying to uncover the root cause of their arrival.

Chen Mo was no different.

He desperately wanted to know why Pokémon had come to this world.

But Suicune shook its head again.

”I’m sorry. I do not know what happened either. In my memory, an irresistible force brought me directly to this world.”

Damn.

An irresistible force?

Suicune might not be among the absolute strongest Legendary Pokémon, but it was still a Legendary.

For something to drag Suicune to another world against its will—

there couldn’t be many beings capable of that.

After a moment, Chen Mo asked slowly:

”What about… Ho-Oh?”

”Brave one of ideals, you are very unusual. You have not even met Zekrom, yet you seem to know much about us.”

”Uh…”

”It’s fine. I’m not particularly concerned about that matter. As for Lord Ho-Oh…”

Suicune’s expression grew more serious.

”Lord Ho-Oh did not tell us anything about this matter.”

Chen Mo fell silent in thought.

Did Ho-Oh not know?

Or did it simply choose not to tell Suicune and the others?

Chen Mo leaned toward the latter.

He had long held a certain suspicion.

But after hearing Suicune’s words, that suspicion moved one step closer toward a certain alpaca-like deity.

Still—

Ho-Oh had truly arrived in this world.

For Chen Mo, that wasn’t exactly good news.

Before meeting Suicune, he had secretly hoped that Legendary Pokémon hadn’t appeared in this world.

But seeing Suicune had already shattered most of that hope.

Now learning Ho-Oh was here as well—

given Ho-Oh’s status, it likely meant most Legendary Pokémon had also arrived.

They might simply be sleeping somewhere on this planet, waiting to awaken one day.

Unconsciously—

Chen Mo recalled the nightmare he once had because of Gengar.

A world on the brink of destruction—

ravaged by battles between Legendary Pokémon.
