Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 801: Chapter 800: The best way to know the truth is...

”You, what are you talking about?”

Hearing Wisteria’s words, Rea looked utterly confused, and the others also stared at her in surprise.

”It’s very simple...”

Looking at Rea in front of him, Wisteria smiled and extended his hand to her.

”You are one of us, understand? Young lady, you once died and then were resurrected, and this... is the gift bestowed upon us by God!!”

As he spoke, Wisteria raised both hands high.

”We are the chosen ones!”

”This... but... I...”

Seeing the seemingly crazed Wisteria, Rea was at a loss for words, while Wisteria seemed unconcerned with her reaction and continued speaking.

”You don’t understand? I can tell you the truth about all of this, you don’t even know what kind of existence we are!”

Saying this, Wisteria closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then spoke with a passion like a politician delivering a speech from a platform.

”Once, on Earth, there were people like us who appeared no different from ordinary people. We once believed we were just ordinary folks. But due to various reasons, we died unexpectedly without enjoying the twilight years... Just when we thought we would fall into Hell, we found ourselves resurrected!”

”...Eh?”

”That’s right, completely resurrected! We lost our weaknesses, we no longer felt pain, we were far from death, and we would live forever in this world!”

As Wisteria spoke, his voice became increasingly fervent, then progressively angrier.

”However, at that time, those ignorant humans were terrified of us, they thought we were walking dead, undead creatures, vampires... They blamed us for all the sins they committed, labeled us with all sorts of names, believed we were the origins of evil, dark creatures, but in fact, we were just a group of ordinary people resurrected after death!”

Hearing Wisteria’s impassioned words, everyone looked at each other, not knowing what to say, yet Wisteria continued his speech.

”Some of The Undead survived the pursuit of those ignorant, foolish, and barbaric humans, but they didn’t know what to do. Fortunately, scientific progress offered us a glimmer of hope, the advancement of human medicine helped us start understanding our bodies and everything about ourselves. Then, we discovered... the secret of it all!”

”Secret?!”

”That’s right!”

Saying this, Wisteria clenched his fists, looking proudly at everyone.

”You might have thought that this crisis was caused by us releasing some virus globally, right?”

”Isn’t that the case?”

Hearing this, everyone was genuinely shocked because, before this, everyone thought that Umbrella Corporation surely released some virus to cause this catastrophe, but now... Wisteria denied it?

”Of course not.”

Wisteria seemed to enjoy the shocked expressions of the crowd, he curled his lips and smirked slightly.

”In fact, our scientists discovered during their research that after humans die, certain cells in their bodies can mutate, enabling humans to transform into The Undead and awaken again! Yes, those viruses are not true viruses but rather entities transformed by the cells within us! They are the gifts God bestows upon us! They give us our second life!! We call these cells the ’Divine Gift’!”

”You’re lying!!”

At this moment, the blonde zombie shouted, interrupting Wisteria’s speech.

”If that’s the case, why do others also turn into zombies after being bitten to death?”

”Ah... that...”

But Wisteria was not shaken, he shrugged his shoulders and then extended his hand to press his forehead, making an exaggerated disappointed gesture.

”That’s just a failure product...”

”Failure product...?”

”That’s right, after we discovered the secret of our bodies, we began exploring this mystery. Initially, all we wanted was to live quietly. But... the world isn’t like that!!”

Saying this, Wisteria clenched his fists.

”The self-destructive tendencies of humans frighten us, world wars, cold wars, what’s every country doing? They are desperately boosting their military power, creating weapons capable of destroying all humanity! If it continues like this, this planet will surely be utterly destroyed by them!”

With his words, Wisteria’s voice grew increasingly deranged.

”We absolutely cannot allow such a thing to happen! We are the chosen ones by God! We have endless life and infinite power, we should clearly be the ones to rule this world! Yet, those short-lived, inferior creatures constantly endanger our safety! We cannot sit idly by, we must find a way to face this... Thus, we established Umbrella Corporation.”

Watching the dumbfounded crowd, Wisteria displayed a smug smile.

”You don’t know, but the true intention behind establishing Umbrella was not for you lowly, short-lived humans; it was to protect us The Undead, to prevent us from getting entangled in your foolish power struggles and mutual destructive wars. Yet, humanity knows nothing of this, you only crave conflicts and destruction. This world is walking a tightrope, always on the brink of collapse. However... what right do you have to do so?”

”......”

At this moment, everyone was at a loss for words, their brains unable to process the vast amount of information contained in these words.

”This world doesn’t just belong to you short-lived humans; it also belongs to us The Undead. But only you get to decide the world’s future; don’t you think it’s absurd? Thus, Umbrella initiated a plan...”

Saying this, Wisteria’s smile grew even brighter.

”... And that’s ’Purification’.”

”In the end, doesn’t it just boil down to killing people?! You bastards!!”

The blonde zombie wasn’t as stupefied as the others; she waved the crowbar in her hand and shouted angrily. However, Wisteria looked at her and gently shook his finger.

”NONONO, you don’t understand at all, Umbrella didn’t release a virus, nor did we kill anyone. In fact, what we released was just a catalyst...”

”Catalyst?”

”That’s right, the catalyst we’ve researched activates the ’Divine Gift’ within humans, making those dormant cell entities awaken once more. In this way, those who successfully awaken their ’Divine Gift’ cells become our companions, yes, just like you...”

Wisteria once again looked at Rea, the fanatic look in his eyes made Rea take half a step back.

”And those who cannot awaken the ’Divine Gift’ will become like this, failed products... They are just failed products. But what does it matter? Once, dinosaurs also dominated the Earth, and yet they went extinct. And now, it’s the turn of these short-lived species. After they die, this world will become the world ruled by The Undead... and Umbrella will turn this world into Heaven!!”

Saying this, Wisteria extended his hand once more towards Rea.

”So, our compatriot, come with me, join Umbrella. Here, you don’t need to hide your identity, nor worry about being captured or killed one day. This is our headquarters for The Undead, and you are also one of us...”

But to Wisteria’s surprise, the previously bewildered Rea now gazed coldly at him, then she turned her head to look at the blonde girl beside her.

”... Sister Natsuse, is this enough?”

”Yes, Sister Rea.”

Natsuse nodded, then raised her hand.

”Looks like Brother Fang Zheng was right; if you let the enemy BOSS feel overly advantaged, he’ll reveal everything...”

As Natsuse spoke, the sky began to churn, countless dark clouds appeared, interspersed with lightning that shrouded the entire sky.

”And now, we know everything, so...”

Natsuse clenched her raised right hand tightly.

”Psionic Storm!!”

In the next moment, with Natsuse’s shout, countless shining silver serpents rumbled down from the clouds, painting the entire world a blinding white.
