Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 831: Chapter 830: What If I Don’t Want to Leave?

To be honest, after traveling through so many worlds, this is the first time Fang Zheng has come to a world and doesn’t want to leave.

Actually, it’s quite normal. The worlds Fang Zheng first traveled to were all troublesome, and back then, Fang Zheng didn’t have much strength, so it was a cautious journey. Moreover, those worlds didn’t really offer Fang Zheng much benefit.

At least, the danger didn’t match the rewards.

But this world is different!!

The Forerunners, and the Pioneers... oh, and the UNSC, and the Star Alliance...

Fang Zheng just wants to roll around here with excitement!

Also, strictly speaking, the danger level of this world isn’t high, because the most advanced tech group is basically dead, and the so-called Pioneers—according to Nymph’s investigation records, even the Forerunners almost scoured the entire Milky Way without finding a trace of them, so whether they still exist or not is questionable.

Since the main players are gone, just look at those ownerless things... well, Piladin’s actions, how can they be called stealing?

Thinking about it carefully, is this any different from when Fang Zheng ventured into ruins in the Main World, entered an instance, defeated the boss, and collected equipment?

No, it’s just that a continent has turned into a galaxy.

The only thing Fang Zheng regrets is that this is an Aid World. If it were a Free World, he wouldn’t have to worry. But now, Fang Zheng is unsure if taking down the Forerunner would lead to him being immediately kicked out of the instance, and the Chief Officer obviously can’t die... hmm?

Wait, Fang Zheng suddenly thought of something.

The system previously indicated that his mission involved the fate of this universe. Now, the fate of this universe... definitely isn’t just threatened by the Forerunners. If Fang Zheng remembers correctly, this place seems to have a creature called the Hongmo, which looks quite similar to the Zerg.

With the protagonist aura of the Chief Officer, he probably won’t be able to defeat them all... which is good! If he really did defeat them all, Fang Zheng’s journey would have ended too soon!

With this in mind, Fang Zheng immediately set his next action goals. Previously, he, like in other worlds, thought of quickly defeating the BOSS and leaving. But now, Fang Zheng doesn’t think so; he now hopes that the Forerunner can live a little longer, so he can take more things back from here.

It’s important to know that the technology of this world is the highest tech era Fang Zheng has encountered so far. As long as he can handle it, bringing it back would definitely elevate the overall tech level of the Heavenly Dao Palace by at least ten percent. Although Fang Zheng doesn’t expect to reach the First Rank tech civilization level through archaeology, reaching at least a Second Rank level is a must.

The other reason Fang Zheng values this world so much is because of the endless Star Sea beyond the Main World cage. He still doesn’t know what’s in that Star Sea, but at least relying solely on the Magitech Civilization tech of the Main World, Fang Zheng believes that trying to contend with the warships of the Star Sea era is basically dreaming. Look at the Kingdom of Flame’s warships, they’re so big, but they fall apart when Iona bumps into them. How can they be used against enemies?

Being able to leave the atmosphere is good enough!

So Fang Zheng has decided that as long as he protects the Chief Officer from dying, that’s enough. As for the BOSS? Hmm, there’s no rush; as long as the BOSS can’t achieve its goals, I can spend more time in this world. Then I can explore a few more planets, rob some graves, and strive to climb the tech tree of the Heavenly Dao Palace higher.

Life wouldn’t be too blissful!!

And just as Fang Zheng snapped back from envisioning his idyllic life, he immediately had an idea.

”Right, Nymph, can Iona and the others master the Forerunner’s directional energy beam firing technology?”

Fang Zheng is quite envious of the Forerunner’s technology. That thing, with one blast, is much more powerful than the light beams currently used by Iona and the others. If this thing could be upgraded and placed on Iona and the others’ warships, then the overall strength of the Royal Fleet would be on a whole new level.

”This...”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Nymph, who was searching and downloading information, furrowed her brows in a bit of a dilemma.

”This might be difficult, Master, because many of the manufacturing techniques for these weapons require very high-density energy reactors and manufacturing machinery, which the Heavenly Dao Palace doesn’t have. Unless I can find these production machines on this planet or in this universe world, otherwise... creating the Forerunner’s energy firing weapons is quite unlikely.”

”I see...”

Fang Zheng wasn’t surprised by Nymph’s response as this is normal. But what Fang Zheng didn’t expect was that Iona tugged at his sleeve and spoke softly.

”Commander... there’s no need to go through so much trouble. We Misty Seas... have our own way.”

”Your way?”

Hearing Iona’s answer, Fang Zheng was taken aback.

”What way?”

”It’s like this...”

While speaking, Iona proceeded to explain to Fang Zheng.

It turns out, the Warship of Sea Mist differs from ordinary warship AIs. After absorbing those warships, it appears they turned them back into their original state. In reality, those warships were ”copied” using nano-machinery after the Misty Seas understood the principles and functioning of those warships.

In other words, those warships are actually made of nano-materials, just like the bodies of the Misty Seas, only one takes a human-like form and the other is closer to steel.

And this means that as long as the Misty Seas can ”understand” the operation of something, they can directly use the nano-materials on the warship to recombine and create the same thing.

And Fang Zheng’s coveted Forerunner’s directional energy beam technology would work the same way. If Iona could fully grasp the fundamentals, reaction principles, and a series of knowledge about this beam technology, she could directly modify her turrets with nano-materials, without needing to add new equipment.

The most it would require is some additional nano-materials for upgrades.

After listening to Iona’s explanation, Fang Zheng was stunned and couldn’t react for a while.

”...Wait, are you saying that as long as you understand, you can create even a bomb that destroys a universe?”

”Of course... but considering the energy compression explosion level needed to destroy a universe, it would require quite a considerable amount of nano-material supplements...”

”.......”

Hearing Iona’s answer, Fang Zheng was left speechless.

This is what they mean by ’knowledge is power,’ a living example!

But this makes things much simpler; however, Iona mentioned that it would be a bit difficult for her alone to quickly comprehend this directional energy beam technology in a short time. If a few more Misty Seas could come along and they could utilize the cloud computing function of the Misty Sea network, perhaps it would speed things up a bit.

And for Fang Zheng... of course, that’s not a problem!

But... who should he ask?
