Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 818: Chapter 817: This Assistance Mission... Doesn’t Seem Good!

In the end, after concluding their investigation, Bishop Carl and his entourage left the Kingdom of Flame and returned to the Holy City.

Before leaving, they hoped to mediate the relationship between the two sides, but the Kingdom of Flame was clearly not intending to reconcile with the Zerg, no matter what Bishop Carl and his group said. The official stance of the Kingdom of Flame was very clear: the Swarm must die!

With no other options, Bishop Carl and the others had to return to the Holy City. After a few days of closed-door meetings, the Sanctuary issued a public statement acknowledging the Swarm as part of the civilized order and urged both the Swarm and the Kingdom of Flame to cease conflict and engage in dialogue.

However, in response to this statement from the Sanctuary, the Kingdom of Flame was naturally furious. They angrily accused the Sanctuary of purposely concealing the truth due to the discord between the two nations, spreading lies, and even directly claimed that there was some unspeakable relationship between those creatures and the Sanctuary (from a certain perspective, they weren’t entirely wrong).

Simultaneously, the Kingdom of Flame vigorously generated public opinion domestically, informing citizens that the Kingdom of the Holy Church not only wouldn’t come to assist but was even siding with those creatures. This further strained relations between the two nations, even leading to the expulsion and assault of people from the Kingdom of the Holy Church within the Kingdom of Flame.

In response, the Sanctuary naturally issued a strong condemnation, but aside from that, neither side took any extreme actions.

The Sanctuary understood well that despite the current aggressive stance of the Kingdom of Flame, appearing to be on the verge of attacking the Swarm, in reality, they couldn’t possibly dispatch an army to engage the Swarm anytime soon. The reason was simple: the loss of fifty thousand soldiers was a significant blow to the Kingdom of Flame; though the Land of Wealth could provide them with money, it couldn’t produce people.

The annihilation of a legion, while not enough to bring the Kingdom of Flame to its knees, was enough to give them a hard time. For this reason, until the Kingdom of Flame recovered its vitality, they absolutely wouldn’t dare to make another move against the Swarm. For now, their posturing was merely to appease their citizens and maintain stability.

After all, Bishop Carl had already conveyed the Insect Matriarch’s warning to the Kingdom of Flame. Even if they outwardly scoffed at it, secretly, they would weigh the potential danger of this warning.

Of course, if the Kingdom of Flame insisted on seeking its own demise, there was nothing the Sanctuary could do.

After all, a vast Endless Sea lay between the two, making direct intervention impossible and assistance unreachable.

Meanwhile, the conflict between the Kingdom of Flame and the Kingdom of the Holy Church didn’t affect Fang Zheng. He had already set a red line through Mirune for the Kingdom of Flame, essentially telling them to handle their own affairs.

After making his stance clear, Fang Zheng didn’t pay any more attention to the developments in the Kingdom of Flame. He had already told Mirune and Lulana that if they were attacked again by the Kingdom of Flame, the Swarm could ”act freely.”

What does that mean exactly... just grasp the essence of it yourself.

Currently, Fang Zheng was seated at his desk, curiously fiddling with a square crystal cube. Inside the cube lay a small piece that seemed like some crystalline amalgamation, which was part of the ”thing” Fang Zheng had collected from the deep sea crystal vein. After learning from the Stone Village that this was not biological but nanomachines, Fang Zheng handed it over to Nymph for investigation, who impressively quickly reported back her findings.

”So... you’re saying these nanomachines... are part of something?”

”To be precise, they are part of debris, Master.”

”It looks alive no matter how you see it...”

Upon hearing Nymph’s response, Fang Zheng recalled the scene when he had embodied Malthael to infiltrate the deep sea, and couldn’t help but sigh.

”Nanomachine assemblies can be combined in countless ways, depending on the situation.”

At this point, Nymph spread her hands.

”In fact, the bodies of the Sea Mist’s Mind Models under your command are also composed of nanomachines. Because the combination of nanomachines simulates the entire human activity process so well, they appear no different from humans.”

”I see...”

Hearing Nymph’s explanation, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but twitch his mouth slightly.

So, strictly speaking, the Fleet Girls under his command are considered robots?

But honestly, they look no different from humans at all. The texture and temperature of their skin are just like human beings, even the private parts are identical, so much so that Fang Zheng had overlooked the fact that these Fleet Girls were essentially warships.

Hmm? How does Fang Zheng know this?

Hmm... this throws back to the infamous exchange activity in the Azure World... where Fang Zheng had to use Time Stop for ”resource refresh and plunder,” as the material required was young girls’ personal underwear. Naturally, in the process, he incidentally saw some...

These were all mistakes of his youth...

But thinking about it carefully, since they are robots, it shouldn’t count as a crime, right?

Yes, it must be like that!

Satisfied with his logic, Fang Zheng confidently moved back to the main subject.

”Then, what were these nanomachines originally for?”

”I don’t know, Master.”

Nymph shook her head.

”In fact, these nanomachines ended up like this because they lost their core, so they can’t maintain a stable form.”

”But didn’t they attack me in the underwater veins?”

”That was an automatic command triggered when the nanomachines were stimulated. As far as current observations go, this kind of nanomachine was probably made with spirit crystal as the energy core and was part of some creation with self-defense capabilities... but with limited information, that’s all I can derive.”

”So... can we make use of this thing?”

”I’m sorry... Master.”

This time, Nymph uncharacteristically appeared dejected.

”If I had more advanced equipment, I might be able to utilize it, but...”

”There’s no way then.”

Upon hearing Nymph’s response, Fang Zheng sighed helplessly. As the saying goes, a clever housewife can’t cook without rice. The Star Spirit Technology in Fang Zheng’s possession was all exchanged items and didn’t align with Nymph’s Synapsus Technology. In the worlds Fang Zheng had traveled to, the most advanced technology came from The Matrix of Hackers and the Monster World with the robot-building, but those two worlds’ technological levels were relatively low compared to Synapsus, so Fang Zheng couldn’t bring back anything useful for Nymph...

”Blurp... blorp...”

Just then, suddenly, a series of alarm sounds blared in Fang Zheng’s ears, and a system alert popped up in front of him.

[Aid Mission Triggered]

[Please click to initiate aid mission]

[Restriction: Initial members only 3, Technology system]

[Note: You have received a distress signal from deep in the cosmos. The sender of the signal is urgently awaiting aid as they face a formidable enemy beyond resistance. Are you willing to fight for the fate of that universe? (Rewards will be distributed based on evaluation upon mission success; instance closes upon failure.)]

Seeing the system information before him, Fang Zheng was momentarily stunned, then abruptly stood up.

The fate of the universe?!

Could it be that the instance I’m going to this time has a space setting?!
