Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 813: Chapter 812: Watching the Fun Without Fear of Trouble

Rishi and Walnut just stared blankly at each other, while Satono was so shocked she didn’t know how to react.

Just as Fang Zheng was considering stepping in to break the ice, an unexpected scene unfolded.

The two of them looked at each other and simultaneously asked.

”Who are you?”

”Huh?”

Hearing the other speak, both were taken aback. Walnut stood up involuntarily and took a step back, while Rishi did the same thing, uttering the same words.

”Why are you mimicking me?”

After saying this, the two of them froze again, looking at each other in surprise.

”Eh?”

”This... This...”

Looking at two people who moved the same and even spoke the same words, Satono was also a bit bewildered. She cautiously moved next to Fang Zheng and whispered.

”Um... Mr. Fang Zheng, could she really be Rishi’s sister...?”

You don’t say, I’m starting to think that’s possible.

If Fang Zheng didn’t know Walnut was from another world, he might have believed Rishi and Walnut were long-lost sisters, given their synchronization was 300%!

No training needed to pilot an EVA.

”That’s right!”

At this moment, Little Hei suddenly popped up and said.

”Actually, this young lady is looking for her biological father, so we brought her here to see if there are any clues.”

”Huh? Huh huh? Huh huh huh???”

Hearing Little Hei’s utterly unhelpful response, Rishi was completely dumbfounded.

What the heck? Could it be... that the girl in front of her is really her sister? Wait a minute, but her mom only had one child, right? Does that mean... Dad has someone else outside?

At this thought, Rishi’s imagination ran wild... Could Dad have someone outside, had a child, and then left them... No way!!

Even though she didn’t want to believe it, the girl in front of her really looked exactly like her!! Could she really be Dad’s child? Which would make her my sister? Wait, does that mean Dad not only had an affair but abandoned the other woman afterward??!!

At this thought, Rishi’s face turned alternately pale and flushed; she had no idea what to say. Seeing this, Fang Zheng hurriedly stepped in to break the ice. By the look of Rishi, if he didn’t clarify things quickly, her mind would have filmed an entire eighty-episode soap opera.

After all, Walnut’s mom isn’t Xia Yuhe by Daming Lake!

”Ahem, okay okay, let’s stop making a fuss.”

Fang Zheng quickly stepped up, coughed, and brought the two dumbfounded girls back to reality.

”This is Ebisuzawa Kurumi, um... sort of our distant relative. Kurumi, don’t just stand there, say hello.”

”Ah, oh...”

Hearing Fang Zheng, Walnut was taken aback and then came to her senses, bowing her head to Rishi in front of her.

”Nice to meet you, I’m Ebisuzawa Kurumi.”

This made Rishi snap back too, quickly returning the greeting.

”Ah, nice to meet you, I’m Tendo Rio...”

After exchanging greetings, both of them returned to their senses and started talking again.

However, when Kurumi and Rishi stood together, everyone noticed some slight differences; for instance, Kurumi was shorter than Rishi, and Rishi used a hair tie for her ponytail while Kurumi used ribbons for her twin tails. The voices were similar, but upon close listening, there were slight differences.

But if you glanced quickly, they did look very much alike; someone unfamiliar might easily mistake one for the other at a glance.

Because of this little incident, the atmosphere at the welcome party became much more lively. Rishi even put aside her work to chat with Kurumi. Clearly, she was very curious about this girl who looked just like her. Satono didn’t say much about it; after all, there were no other customers in the café. In fact, she herself was quite curious about the girl who looked exactly like Rishi, quietly eavesdropping on the conversation.

However, what left Fang Zheng speechless was that they seemed to take his offhand comment seriously... Speaking of which, why do Japanese people have such faith in the trope where XXXXX is a distant relative? Just about every surprise sister drops out of the sky this way... Has no one ever questioned it?

”I knew it was you causing trouble, Little Hei!!”

At this moment, Illya also pulled Little Hei aside to start a low-voiced complaint.

”I knew from the start you were up to no good, but to think you’d exploit this situation!”

Illya glared at Little Hei discontentedly. She knew from the start that Little Hei would make a big deal out of Rishi and Kurumi looking so similar, but she didn’t expect Little Hei would stir things up so much... What if Rishi truly believed it?

”It was just a little joke, Illya, you’re blowing it out of proportion, come on. So much agitation, typical younger sister behavior...”

”Who’s the younger sister? Clearly, you’re the younger one, Little Hei.”

Hearing Little Hei’s response, Illya instinctively retorted, which was part of their usual banter.

But what surprised Illya was that this time, Little Hei didn’t argue back as before; instead, she showed a cat-like grin, giving her a victor’s look.

”Wh... what’s up?”

Seeing Little Hei’s expression, Illya was a bit taken aback. They could argue for eighty rounds over this topic, usually ending in a draw. They were used to it by now. But now, with Little Hei responding unusually and giving her such a strange look, Illya found it puzzling.

To Illya’s inquiry, Little Hei just smiled and wagged her finger.

”You don’t get it, Illya. Here’s a fact: I’m no longer a girl. I’m a woman now... Got it?”

”A woman?”

Illya widened her eyes, assessing Little Hei up and down.

”Did your chest grow? But we are Heroic Spirits...”

”Tsk tsk tsk...”

Little Hei giggled, then she opened her personal terminal and sent a picture to Illya.

”Look at this, and you’ll understand.”

”What’s this...?”

Though confused, Illya’s curiosity got the better of her, and she opened the picture. As soon as she saw it, her face turned red, and her eyes went wide with shock.

”Huh... huh huh huh???!!”

Before her eyes was a photo of Fang Zheng sleeping soundly under a cover, and right beside him was Little Hei in the nude, with a bare shoulder visible, leaning on his chest. One hand held out in a selfie pose, while the other made a V sign to cover her eyes... though her eyes were covered, that skin tone and hair were unmistakably Little Hei’s!!

What was even more shocking to Illya was that on Fang Zheng’s other side, Fumie Busei was also peeking out from under the covers, making the same gesture toward the camera!!

”This this this...”

”Well? Do you understand now?”

Seeing Illya so stunned she was speechless, Little Hei showed a smug grin.

”So, you see, I’m different from you, little girl, Illya. I’m already a mature woman. So from today onward, I’m the older sister, got it?”

”But, but... but...”

Facing Little Hei’s words, Illya didn’t know what to say.

”But Little Hei, you still look like a little kid...”

”That’s just how I look!”

Before Illya could finish, Little Hei interrupted.

”Listen, we are Heroic Spirits! We’re not human; age doesn’t matter to us. Even if we’re a hundred years old, our bodies won’t change! We may look like kids, but we’re actually adults!”

With that, Little Hei gave a thumbs-up.

”Totally legal, no problem!!”

”Woo... but... but...”

”If you don’t believe me, you can ask Midori. It’s not PS or a modded photo?”

Watching the flustered and speechless Illya, Little Hei showed a victorious grin.

”So, do you understand now?”
