Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 802: Chapter 801 The Last Thing Before Leaving...

”So, in other words... this is actually a Lich King trying to create a Scourge Legion... no, wait, it’s more like Wolverine trying to build a Mutant Empire...”

After listening to the report, Fang Zheng shook his head helplessly.

Initially, he thought Umbrella’s antics were just insane, but if the intelligence he received was true, then it actually made sense. After all, beings like Rea, the ”Undead,” can of course conceal their identities and live in this world, but no one can guarantee that their home won’t be blown to smithereens by a bomb someday.

Moreover, compared to ordinary people, the Undead are certainly a minority. If discovered, they might be dragged to an operating table for dissection or directly exterminated humanely. This is less a battle between humans and more a war between humans and another species.

In such situations, Umbrella’s idea of exterminating humans to make themselves the masters of Earth is something Fang Zheng can somewhat understand.

Thinking carefully, Umbrella has a fairly high success rate. The virus can kill most people and armies, while human civilization’s creations would largely remain intact. The Undead at Umbrella’s top echelons could then utilize these artifacts to continue development. Since they are timeless and immortal, they naturally don’t worry about population issues, and with Umbrella’s mature cloning technology, labor concerns could also be addressed.

As for why they’re capturing survivors... from the looks of it, it’s probably to ”eliminate” enemies.

If Umbrella continued to develop like this, it’s quite possible that in a few hundred years, they might indeed develop a different branch of civilization.

However, understanding does not mean acceptance.

No matter what past grievances the Undead within Umbrella have, it does not justify sending billions into the abyss of death. Of course, if Fang Zheng were one of them and had experienced similar suffering, he might agree with Umbrella’s perspective. But unfortunately, he is not one of Umbrella’s Undead, and... as a Paladin, Fang Zheng cannot condone such actions.

”So, big brother, what should we do?”

”Hmm...”

Faced with Little Hei’s question, Fang Zheng fell into silence.

The Dimensional Mage traverses worlds, yet his power allows him to overturn a world at will. Take the present scenario, for instance: Fang Zheng could easily walk away, perhaps these Undead might indeed establish a civilization on Earth different from human civilization, maybe more advanced, more efficient.

Of course, it might also become more evil and cruel.

It is even possible that both sides could destroy each other, leading to a third scenario where the world ends up ruled by octopuses.

As for the fourth outcome...

”Let’s head out and take a look first.”

With this thought, Fang Zheng shook his head, then stood up, walked out of the room, and into the hall. Here, a number of survivors had already gathered, with the zombie idols huddled together, shouting and jumping joyfully, while four other survivors were circled together, with Walnut holding the hand of another long-haired girl and saying something. Meanwhile, Kei Shidou was tightly hugging a short-haired girl... it was clear they knew each other.

”Ahem.”

Though the scene of meeting again after a long separation was touching, Fang Zheng had to cough a few times to interrupt their conversation. Once they reached the Heavenly Dao Palace, there would be plenty of time for chatting, but for now, it was better to solve some practical issues.

Hearing Fang Zheng’s cough, the conversing group turned their heads towards him. Looking at everyone, Fang Zheng nodded, then casually pulled a chair over to sit down.

”Alright, everyone, I know this might be a bit sudden, but we need to discuss something serious. As far as you guys are aware, there are barely any survivors left on this planet apart from you... well, besides zombies, there are only a few from Umbrella Corporation left. So, my proposal is to transfer all of you to the Heavenly Dao Palace.”

At this point, Fang Zheng paused, carefully observing their expressions.

”I must declare in advance, once you go to the Heavenly Dao Palace, there is no way to return to this world, so... you better prepare yourselves mentally.”

”We have no problem!”

As soon as Fang Zheng finished speaking, the blonde zombie from the zombie idol group raised her hand high.

”We’re willing to go to the Heavenly Dao Palace, but... in our current state, won’t we scare others?”

For these zombie idols, they didn’t have any special concerns. In fact, continuing their idol activities in a new setting was more in line with their wishes. However, their appearance was indeed frightening, and according to them, their previous idol activities required their manager to apply makeup for them.

However, that person, whether human or otherwise, had already disappeared...

”Don’t worry, I have a way.”

Fang Zheng was quite calm regarding the concerns of the zombie girls. Though he wasn’t skilled in makeup sorcery, the Zerg biological technology of the Heavenly Dao Palace far surpassed that of Umbrella’s amateurs.

Without even returning home, Fang Zheng already had a way to restore them to their original forms—by coating a thin layer of Amoeba membrane over the zombie girls’ skin, allowing it to absorb cellular information and replicate their forms, their appearance could easily be transformed back to their living state.

Upon hearing Fang Zheng had a solution, the zombie girls naturally relaxed and sat back down.

As for the other side...

”Excuse me, sir, is there really... no way to return to this world?”

A petite woman in a purple dress with pink hair stood nervously and asked Fang Zheng. If Fang Zheng recalled correctly, her name was Sakurazawa Shizu, a teacher at Megurigaoka Academy and a leader among the students.

Of course, with her height, people might believe she’s a middle school student.

”That’s correct, the Heavenly Dao Palace is in another world. We stumbled into this world through a random teleportation channel. If we leave, we cannot return here.”

Here, Fang Zheng paused and looked at Sakurazawa Shizu.

”In fact, I do hope that Miss Sakurazawa Shizu you can come to the Heavenly Dao Palace.”

”Oh? Why?”

”I guess you’ve already met Tina, Natsuse, and Midori.”

Saying this, Fang Zheng reached out and patted the heads of these little ones beside him.

”To be honest, there are many children of similar ages in the Heavenly Dao Palace, but our teaching staff... is a bit lacking.”

Fang Zheng hesitated for a moment but didn’t disclose the specific number, fearing it might scare the teacher into fainting. However, he was speaking the truth; the teaching resources at the Heavenly Dao Palace are quite lacking. Thanks to high technology, at least Nymph and the others can still teach those students through remote video lectures.

However, Fang Zheng still felt that having dozens of students sitting in a classroom all staring at a screen was a bit strange. Although it’s not as advanced, he still thought that having a teacher guide them in person... was more human.

But finding good teaching staff isn’t that easy.

After the system upgrade, the summoning card pool in Fang Zheng’s hand changed as well. Previously, Fang Zheng could summon things like soulstones, summoning stones, and equipment stones. But now, the upgraded card pool not only allows drawing stones but also real equipment and various other items...

Well... to be honest, Fang Zheng really didn’t know if this was an improvement or a setback...

After all, when you stuff furniture, equipment, and vehicles into one card pool, are you increasing the draw probability? Or lowering it?

Probably the latter, since this system is notoriously unreliable.

Like the ten-pull guarantee or something...

Additionally, after the upgrade, the normal card pool and the limited card pool were merged, meaning that in the future, Fang Zheng could only execute three ten-pulls per month...

In such a situation, it was almost as hard as climbing the sky to draw a qualified teacher.

As for this person, not only did she have a great reputation among students, but she also could protect her students in disasters. Her character was decent, and she was a professional teacher, which was better than forcing Nymph and others, so if possible, Fang Zheng hoped to trick... no, invite her to the Heavenly Dao Palace.

As for what to have Sakurazawa Shizu teach, well... likely something like ideology and politics, ethics, or... health education?

On second thought, the last one is quite important.

Especially for the Heavenly Dao Palace.

”I understand.”

Sakurazawa Shizu clearly didn’t realize the big pit Fang Zheng had dug for her, but seeing those children standing beside Fang Zheng, the sense of her Heavenly Duty as a teacher prevailed, so Sakurazawa Shizu nodded and didn’t say anything further.

”We will go... to the Heavenly Dao Palace.”

”Great.”

Upon hearing Sakurazawa Shizu’s decision, Fang Zheng finally felt relieved and snapped his fingers.

”Then there’s no time to waste, let’s go...”

When Fang Zheng rescued these people, he had a premonition that his task in this world was almost complete. Sure enough, this time when he used his power, the previously unusable Door of Time Travel suddenly appeared. Flames rose all at once, quickly forming a huge door.

Seeing this flaming door, everyone was surprised... although they were mentally prepared, they still found it a bit unbelievable when faced with such an unusual phenomenon.

”Natsuse, you and Tina go first and explain the situation to the others.”

While maintaining the Door of Time Travel, Fang Zheng spoke to Natsuse beside him. Others could be left out, but if this group of zombie idols went without explanation, they might be burned to ashes by the Flame of Existence on the other side, so it was safer to send someone to explain first.

”Okay, Brother Fang Zheng.”

Following Fang Zheng’s order, Natsuse nodded, then she and Tina walked into the flaming door, while Fang Zheng waited a moment and then gestured to the others.

”Then, please enter, everyone.”

”Alright, let’s go!”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, the zombie idols responded first. They stood up and walked in happily as if going on an outing. But on the other side, Kei Shidou and Sanhua Remi were less decisive, hesitant and reluctant to leave...

But Fang Zheng could understand. Although this world had been nearly destroyed by Umbrella, it was still where they were born and raised. Even if staying here only brought them danger, leaving... still felt a bit reluctant.

”Alright, let’s go, children.”

Finally, Sakurazawa Shizu clapped her hands, and the other girls turned around and lined up to walk into the flaming door. Fang Zheng silently watched them until the place was left with only him and Little Hei.

”Big Brother, shall we go too?”

”Wait, before that, did you get the things I asked you for?”

”Hehehe, of course I got them.”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s query, Little Hei gave a sly smile, then reached out and took a small black suitcase from behind her, opening it.

Inside, there were vials of green and blue liquid quietly lying there.

These were the catalysts that Umbrella used to spread Resident Evil.
