Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 843: Chapter 842: Did I Forget Something?

”So bored...”

After returning from the Aura World, Fang Zheng felt like a salted fish... or a salted dragon.

At the moment, he was lying on the bed, with the Little Fire Dragon on his left and the little kitten on his right. The two little creatures were rolling around with Fang Zheng, yet... Fang Zheng felt like he had nothing to do.

Before Rebirth, Fang Zheng had heard a joke from a colleague: The real good emperor is not those who deal with endless affairs every day, but those who indulge in drinking and feasting every day. The real good boss is not those who work until the end every day but those bosses you basically never see all day long.

At that time, Fang Zheng curiously asked his colleague what the rationale was, and the colleague replied: An emperor who deals with endless affairs means his subordinates are all useless and can’t handle even the tiniest of tasks. A boss who has to work overtime every day just means he hired a bunch of useless people and has to do everything himself.

Of course, Fang Zheng disagreed. Isn’t deception and cover-up a common thing throughout history? Then Fang Zheng’s colleague looked at him like an idiot and said.

”You can’t even judge people, and you still want to be a good emperor and a good boss?”

Alright, what you say makes so much sense that I have no words to retort.

And right now, Fang Zheng suddenly felt that perhaps it would be better if his subordinates were not so capable.

Currently, the most important task of the Heavenly Dao Palace is to absorb and digest the knowledge from the Forerunners and Pioneers in order to improve their own technology level. The Royal Fleet has also begun the ”upgrade” work overall. What Fang Zheng has to do at present is at most to go and check every afternoon to see if the Fleet Girls are eating well, and by the way, replenish some nanomaterials for them... He feels like he is about to become the Minister of Logistics.

At first, Fang Zheng also felt that the days of leisure strolling were quite nice, occasionally taking the time to bond with Atalanta or Kurumi, Tilia. But surely, he can’t spend all his time on this every day, right? Honestly, Fang Zheng really wonders how those emperors indulging in drinking and feasting every day managed to keep it up, don’t you get tired of it if this goes on for too long?

Sigh... I don’t want to work... but I also don’t want to go into instances... but having nothing to do is too boring...

At present, the organizational structure of the Heavenly Dao Palace has basically gotten on the right track, with Tilia handling foreign and internal affairs, Black Katie on military and politics, and Nymph in charge of scientific research. Those little girls have also basically begun to assume positions, and after the initial adaptation, they have gradually acclimated to their roles.

Even the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which is in any organizational structure a pretty dark department, now has its own head—needless to say, this kind of sinister job is naturally left for Kurumi to handle.

But now Fang Zheng is a bit unaccustomed. He even starts to miss the days at the founding stage of the Heavenly Dao Palace when he was so busy. However, now, everything is proceeding in an orderly manner, and there’s nothing worth bringing to him for decisions, which suddenly makes Fang Zheng feel extremely bored.

As for the Kingdom of Flame? Hah, just as Fang Zheng thought, those guys are all talk but never intended to take action. Besides dispatching a Magitech Fleet to wander around the border between the Kingdom of Flame and the Swarm, they didn’t even dare to make a symbolic attack.

Thinking carefully, this is actually quite normal. Currently, the Swarm at the border amounts to millions, and no matter how powerful your Magitech Fleet is, it is still just one fleet. Simply put, if you really fight, at most one fleet can only defend one area, and by then, other places would be overrun by the Swarm, and the entire Kingdom of Flame would collapse in no time.

No one with normal intelligence would provoke the Swarm at this time, lest the play becomes real by mistake, and that would be disastrous.

And thanks to Ratziel, Fang Zheng also found out that within the Senate of the Kingdom of Flame, it was precisely the Lords of various territories who opposed launching an attack against the Swarm. There are only five Magitech Fleets in the entire Kingdom of Flame, even if one fleet can protect one territory, that’s at most five territories.

However, the Kingdom of Flame has over 40 territories... are you going to let the others drink the northwest wind?

So now, it’s understandable that Fang Zheng is lying on the bed like a salted fish. He has nothing to do, or rather, there are things he doesn’t want to do for now, yet not doing them feels boring...

What should you say I do?

”...Little one, go get me a glass of water.”

Fang Zheng, bored out of his mind, hugged the little kitten and rolled around on the bed, petting the kitten’s fluffy belly as he spoke to the Little Fire Dragon. The Little Fire Dragon chirped twice, flapped its wings, flew out of the room, and then came back holding a glass of water with its claws. Fang Zheng reached out, took the glass, and patted the Little Fire Dragon on the head.

”Very good, very good, so obedient... huh?”

Just as Fang Zheng took the glass and intended to drink, he suddenly paused as he stared at the liquid shaking in the glass, feeling like... he seemed to have forgotten something?

What exactly was it?

”Hmm...”

Fang Zheng looked at the glass, unable to recall to save his life. He only vaguely remembered it was something quite important, but what it was, he couldn’t remember. What’s going on? Is this a sign of early dementia?

”Meow... meow...”

Seeing Fang Zheng’s raised glass, the little kitten lying on him immediately stood up, waving its little paws and ”meowing” while trying to grab the glass. Seeing the little kitten’s adorable look, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but smile, and at that moment, he suddenly slapped his thigh.

”That’s right, I remember now, the Lizard Men!!”

Yes, at this moment, Fang Zheng remembered what he had previously forgotten. This goes back to when Fang Zheng sent the Swarm to occupy the Lost Land on the West Continent. Back then, Fang Zheng discovered a group of Lizard Men underground and, out of curiosity, sent a few Aliens to follow them. Then he found a ”Secret Treasure” identical to the one used by his former self ”Williams” in the Lizard Men’s nest!

After a Lizard Man used the Secret Treasure of the Lizard Tribe, it became quite tricky and troublesome, and in the end, Fang Zheng personally set it on fire and wiped them all clean.

Afterwards, Fang Zheng wanted to use Ratziel to investigate detailed information about that ”Secret Treasure,” but there wasn’t much success. He initially thought about checking out the Doomsday Church to see if there were any clues, but due to a pile of troublesome matters, Fang Zheng ended up putting it on the back burner.

But now... he’s finally remembered!

Yes, since there’s nothing to do, why not investigate what that Secret Treasure actually is and how much the Doomsday Church knows about it!

Ratziel can’t investigate those at or above the Legendary level, but that’s not a problem for Fang Zheng, he is now Transcendent. As long as it’s not those Demon Lords or something, Fang Zheng can easily flip them over with one hand. Even if the high-ranking members of the Doomsday Church are quite formidable, Fang Zheng is convinced they are absolutely not his opponents.

Not to mention... he is not fighting alone!

After returning to the Main World, Fang Zheng had the ”Ship of Inheritance” together with the Recombination Device thrown into a low Earth orbit, controlled remotely by Nymph. Fang Zheng experimented with it once; the satellite orbital cannon’s power is Transcendent, and it’s specifically designed to deconstruct organisms. With one shot, all organisms within a hundred-mile radius will be instantly deconstructed into their most primitive data, and it can even recombine these deconstructed primitive data into Guardians of the Forerunner on site according to the commander’s directive.

So, what can the little Doomsday Church do? If they upset Fang Zheng, one shot will send all of you back home!

It’s decided!

Thinking about it, Fang Zheng immediately made a decision.

Next, I will go investigate the Doomsday Church and that Secret Treasure!
