Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 835: Chapter 834: Good Realization, I’ll Give You a...

Although the Star Alliance Fleet outnumbers the Sea Mist Fleet, in terms of quality, the Sea Mist Fleet is naturally superior. Iona, as a command ship, wasn’t even breached when targeted by three Star Alliance warships, let alone the specialized cruisers and battleships.

For a moment, the battlefield was filled with flying artillery fire, beams intersecting across the starry sky, directly hitting Star Alliance warships. The Iron Cavalry Aircraft maneuvered between the fleets, turning the Star Alliance landing ships, which tried to enter the Sea Mist Fleet for close combat, into fireworks.

The Star Alliance, which had always been invincible in previous battles, finally met its match against the Sea Mist. Although UNSC’s warships had sufficient attack power, they were fragile without shields, and for years hadn’t invented any. Thus, when the Star Alliance fought against UNSC fleets, they typically launched a first round of plasma cannon volleys before directly charging in with landing ships. With no shields, the UNSC warships were usually stripped bare without any possibility of struggle by the Star Alliance.

However, the Sea Mist Fleet has both a shield and a Klein Field as external barriers, making it almost impossible to breach. Moreover, unlike human warships, the Sea Mist warships don’t need corridors, passageways, or cabins. Almost every space except the command room is filled entirely with various weapons, ammunition, and equipped drones.

This means that even if the Star Alliance landing ships could manage to stick to the Sea Mist warships, it would take them ages to even try to open a passage...

Under the suppression of the Sea Mist Fleet, the Star Alliance began to retreat, but Fang Zheng did not let his guard down. The reason was simple: there was still a main force in the opponent’s camp.

Initially, the Pioneer warships completely ignored the Sea Mist Fleet, evidently speeding towards the research station. It wasn’t until the Memory of Neshin made an appearance that the Missionary seemed to sense a threat, and Fang Zheng saw their warship slowly turn around, aiming in the direction of the Memory of Neshin.

The next moment, dozens of orange-red beams erupted, shooting through the Sea Mist Fleet, hitting several large warships including the Memory of Neshin.

”Holy Light, grant me strength!”

At this moment, accompanied by a soft shout, Fang Zheng saw the Eternal-Class Carrier Glorious at the rear suddenly burst into dazzling light. Dozens of Iron Cavalry Aircraft screeched through the fleet, and all the warships they passed were encased in a huge white shield, just as the energy beams from the Pioneer warships struck the shielded warships.

It must be admitted, the Pioneer surpasses in attack damage. Those shields only lasted for eight seconds before quickly dissipating; subsequently, the shields and Klein Field of the Sea Mist warship rapidly began to diminish. But fortunately, the Sea Mist Fleet withstood this attack from the Pioneer, though most warships suffered shield breaks, and some careless Destroyers with grazing hits suffered armor breaks, with damage reaching their structures.

Just then, another timid voice sounded.

”Unicorn... will do her best!”

As Unicorn spoke, the aircraft in NTD mode again passed through the fleet. Soon, a gentle green glow spread over the severely damaged Sea Mist warships, and their hull damage began to repair at a visible speed.

Fang Zheng was not surprised at this. Although the technology of the Pioneer was indeed formidable, the Sea Mist AI on his side was not just about controlling the warships’ cores so simply; each Mind Model had quite unique skills, such as the Radiance’s shield and the Unicorn’s healing just now.

If I can’t beat you with science, then are you afraid of science and magic dual cultivation?!

However, Fang Zheng’s acceptance didn’t mean everyone else could accept it too.

”How dare you hurt me!!”

Elizabeth’s enraged voice echoed through the Sea Mist network. Her Memory of Neshin was the largest and the primary target of the opponents, thus naturally suffered the most damage. Although Elizabeth’s ship wasn’t too damaged thanks to the Klein Field and Star Spirit’s shield of the Sea Mist warship, she was evidently a proud character with no tolerance for being hit like that.

”Bow before the Queen!!”

With Elizabeth’s command, the originally sealed launch port at the front of Memory of Neshin slowly opened, and a massive deep-blue prism crystal emerged. Meanwhile, all the warships blocking Elizabeth in the path swiftly moved to the sides.

The prism crystal began to glow gradually, and as if in resonance, the petals’ tips also shimmered with a blue radiance. The blue beams from the prism crystal and the five enormous petal tips converged at the launch port in front of the prism crystal—the next moment, transforming into an unstoppable energy torrent surging towards the Pioneer warships.

”What’s this?”

Controlling the warship, the Missionary was surprised to see this sudden energy torrent but didn’t take it too seriously. Based on the detected values, although the beam from the warship had significant power, it was still far inferior to confront the Pioneer warships.

The Missionary had absolute confidence in the technology of the Pioneer. Even with the Pioneer returning, he feared nothing, let alone such civilizations that hadn’t even reached Second Rank technology!

Of course, the Missionary wouldn’t admit that he was genuinely startled when the Memory of Neshin appeared. According to the memory of the Pioneer, he couldn’t believe any civilization in the Milky Way had this kind of form... could it be humanity has once again discovered the gifts from the Forerunner, like their ancestors?

But this energy is very peculiar and doesn’t belong to any known type. What exactly is it?

Though he had some doubts, the Missionary didn’t care. He had already begun preparing for a counterattack, and once this wave of attacks ended, he would immediately activate the full attack system of the Ship of Inheritance to completely destroy the fleet and show them the true power of the Pioneer!

”Buzz—————!!”

However, at that moment, the Missionary suddenly heard the alarm sound from the warship. He quickly returned his focus to the front and was shocked because on the screen, the power of the beam was rapidly increasing exponentially!

If the initial strike couldn’t damage the Ship of Inheritance, its power now could almost break through its shield!

What a joke! What kind of power is this!!

Seeing this, the Missionary was astounded. He had never seen such a beam attack mode where the power could multiply, catching him off guard. However, since the Missionary was determined to annihilate humanity, naturally, he was not without his skills.

”Allocate all energy immediately to the energy field; the ship is beginning to retreat!”

Soon, under the missionary’s orders and with the Star Alliance warship’s cover, a massive energy wall suddenly appeared on the periphery of the Ship of Inheritance, blocking the attack from the Memory of Neshin. The ship’s body slowly moved aside, attempting to escape the trajectory of Neshin’s attack.

Meanwhile, the attack from the Memory of Neshin grew even more powerful. Before the Ship of Inheritance could fully evade, the azure prism light beam had already fiercely pierced through its defenses, grazing its hull with a whistle. Several streaks of flame erupted from the ship of the Inheritance, and the parts hit by the prism beam disintegrated and cracked instantly, blowing a small hole.

”Hmph!”

Seeing the Ship of Inheritance evade her attack, Elizabeth let out a displeased snort and then shut off the firing of the prism beam — after all, this thing could not fire while in motion, otherwise, she would have long since ”whipped” the Ship of Inheritance to pieces.

”Not bad, not bad.”

Unlike Elizabeth’s dissatisfaction, Fang Zheng appeared quite satisfied. According to the shop’s exchange introduction, each of the Star Spirit’s three Arks had different functions. The Pride of Autaris specialized in cosmic warfare, while the Spear of Aton focused on anti-ground attacks and ground deployment. The Memory of Neshin was specifically designed for ”knocking at doors.”

Indeed, just like a ”battering ram” for breaching fortress gates.

The attack principle of the Memory of Neshin was no different from that of the Void Radiant Ship. Both used energy beams generated by the prism core to bombard the enemy, with the beam’s power doubling within a short time and nearly limitless in strength. This meant if given enough time, the Memory of Neshin could potentially shatter a planet with a single shot.

Since this beam could not fire while mobile and required lengthy ”charging” time, it wasn’t suited for aerial combat. However, it was perfect for attacking large, slow-moving, and well-defended battleships and aerial fortresses.

If the missionary hadn’t decisively ordered the Ship of Inheritance to evade in time, Elizabeth’s shot might have sent him home for a wedding.

But now... it’s about time.

Seeing the enemy flagship stop its movements, Fang Zheng knew it was time for action. He didn’t expect Elizabeth to instantly destroy the Forerunner’s flagship, but if she could at least hold it, then he would have the opportunity to act. Indeed, upon realizing the threat sufficient to destroy his warship, the missionary immediately became much more cautious, no longer in a hurry towards the space station.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Fang Zheng had Iona quickly approach the research station, and with a single Teleportation, appeared by the Chief Officer’s side.

At this moment, the Chief Officer seemed to be conversing with a few people. Fang Zheng’s sudden appearance startled many, with some soldiers instantly raising guns at him. However, Fang Zheng remained unfazed, merely glancing around before looking at the Chief Officer.

”How is it? Have they started evacuating?”

”Evacuation is underway.”

In response to Fang Zheng’s inquiry, the Chief Officer nodded, then looked ahead.

”This is the Recombination Device.”

”This is it?”

Fang Zheng also looked ahead and soon saw not far in front of him stood a purely white cylindrical object. Judging from its exterior and patterns, it was evidently a creation of the Forerunners.

”Wait, are you planning to take it away?”

At this moment, an elder in researcher attire walked over, looking at Fang Zheng.

”You can’t do that; we’ve spent so long...”

”I’m not here to discuss this with you, madam.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng walked over, knocking on the Recombination Device.

”I’m merely informing you of my decision. Well... indeed, taking it directly might not be nice. So, to commend you, I decided to give you a banner and five hundred bucks. How about that?”

”Eh?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s response, everyone present was taken aback. But before they could say more, Fang Zheng extended his hand, placing it on the Recombination Device.

”That’s it, farewell everyone... Chief Officer, let’s connect again if need be.”

Before he finished speaking, Fang Zheng, along with the Recombination Device, vanished from the crowd’s sight, leaving behind a red banner and... five hundred bucks.
