System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

After Yao Xin finished speaking, he smiled and said, ”Lu Cheng, that Director Du Qiang of yours threw all his calculations at me.”

”My nephew was completely in the dark; you guys aren’t being very honest either.”

Lu Cheng said, ”Dean Yao, I really didn’t know either!”

Zhang Tiesheng found Yao Xin, who was a vice dean at the State People’s Hospital, and giving Lu Cheng the authorization for multiple practices was just a nod of his head.

Yao Xin asked, ”Lu Cheng, have you ever thought about doing these projects at our hospital? We can do them here too, you know?”

Lu Cheng shook his head and responded officially, ”Dean Yao, it’s like this: these projects are led by my mentors at Union Hospital and Xiangya Hospital.”

”I’m just a worker; where to carry them out depends on their convenience.”

Yao Xin tried to negotiate further, ”Is Long County convenient then?”

Zhang Tiesheng said, ”Uncle, I’m at Long County.”

Yao Xin snapped, ”Don’t talk, listening to you gives me a headache! Level ten migraine.”

Zhang Tiesheng lowered his head and remained silent, his gaze fixed on Lu Cheng.

”I’m not sure. Relatively speaking, it’s more convenient. Besides, I’ve already discussed these things with Brother Zhang and the others.”

”I’m just a participant and can’t keep giving suggestions repeatedly.” Lu Cheng dragged Zhang Tiesheng into the water with him.

In the current situation, Lu Cheng conducting projects at Long County People’s Hospital as a doctor from a superior hospital was the most comfortable set-up.

”Uncle, will you approve it?” Zhang Tiesheng asked, his eyes burning with anticipation.

He was obviously the direct beneficiary.

”Sigh!” Yao Xin sighed.

”That’s why I say you’re still too young, too inexperienced. Now I even feel like breaking your leg.” Yao Xin lashed out at Zhang Tiesheng.

Lu Cheng chimed in at the right moment, ”Dean Yao, Brother Zhang and I are good brothers. I definitely wouldn’t set him up.”

Yao Xin looked at Zhang Tiesheng, who nodded, ”I’ve watched Lu Cheng grow step by step, and I think I might be able to replicate his path.”

”A prodigal son’s return is worth more than gold. I realized I was wrong about what happened back then.”

”Over the years, I’ve been quite passive, thinking that life in the county would just end like this, and I’ve always done it this way.”

”But Lu Cheng is completely different from what I imagined and what I did, and he succeeded.”

”Uncle, I don’t know if I fully understand your point, but based on my own reasoning, I think that even if I have to make some sacrifices for an opportunity, it’s worth it.”

Saying this, Zhang Tiesheng glanced at Lu Cheng, ”Compared to him, I used to live precariously, licking food off the blade’s edge. My current situation is incredibly fortunate.”

Yao Xin slapped the table, ”Where were you all this time?”

”Back then, when you should have been studying hard, you wanted to go home and raise pigs, messing around with romance…”

Zhang Tiesheng bowed his head, much like an ostrich.

Yao Xin adjusted his jacket, realizing he had just lost his composure and had exposed Zhang Tiesheng’s most vulnerable side.

Hasn’t everyone been young before?

Yao Xin said, ”Lu Cheng, I still want to try to negotiate, the kind of things you’re doing, if I helped organize them for you, it would definitely be more rewarding than whatever Du Qiang arranges for you.”

While Lu Cheng was silently thinking about how to respond.

Zhang Tiesheng said, ”Uncle, don’t think about these things anymore. Now, Lu Cheng is the one in charge. The projects at Union Hospital or Xiangya Hospital are all following his lead.”

”What did you say?” Yao Xin’s mind went slightly blank.

He was from the Hepatobiliary Surgery department of the State People’s Hospital and didn’t attend the national Microsurgery competition, so he couldn’t truly understand the real Lu Cheng.

”The current Lu Cheng is like a young boss, and I was lucky to meet him when he was still young.”

”If I waited any longer, even visiting him would have to be queued behind others.” Zhang Tiesheng replied straightforwardly.

Although he didn’t want to say such opportunistic words in front of Lu Cheng, Yao Xin kept breaking his momentum, leaving him no choice but to clarify things.

”Do you know many people at the provincial level?” Yao Xin suddenly thought of something and asked.

Lu Cheng shook his head, ”Dean Yao, I do know some people, but I’ve also offended quite a few.”

Yao Xin’s question was similar to what Xiao Zhaoxi had asked him before. Lu Cheng couldn’t reveal too much to Yao Xin, at least not all at once.

Yao Xin didn’t continue to question why Lu Cheng had offended people.

”Your uncle Du Qiang there really is a character. I just reviewed what Zhang Tiesheng said, and these things aren’t something an average person could pull off.”

”He’s truly a talent.” Yao Xin suddenly remarked.

To be able to pull Zhang Tiesheng into the act like that, even within the system, was exceptionally rare.

Lu Cheng said with a smile, ”Director Du does know a lot.”

”You know quite a bit yourself.” Yao Xin said.

Lu Cheng shook his head, ”Dean Yao, I didn’t think all this through initially. You can ask Brother Zhang; I was overwhelmed!”

”I could only travel out of town every day.”

Zhang Tiesheng, understanding Lu Cheng’s situation, nodded in support of his point, ”Lu Cheng was indeed a bit depressed for a while. Moreover, he and Director Du had some conflicts.”

Yao Xin looked at Zhang Tiesheng like a rookie, ”You believe that? I, for one, don’t.”

Yao Xin pointed at Lu Cheng, ”He only left your hospital two days ago!”

”Today he’s reporting here. Did he not know about these application forms he obtained?”

”You say he didn’t know about Du Qiang’s performance?”

”You really didn’t know?” Yao Xin’s tone was somewhat teasing.

Lu Cheng admitted, ”Not in detail, just the general direction.”

Zhang Tiesheng suddenly felt that he had also been played, but considering Lu Cheng’s learning ability, he was enlightened.

Everyone is an adult; acting is the norm.

Yao Xin directly ripped off the ”disguise,” ”Lu Cheng, what do you plan to give Zhang Tiesheng? Let’s talk about something tangible.”

Lu Cheng shook his head, ”Dean Yao, I currently don’t have anything that directly pertains to Brother Zhang.”

Before Yao Xin could speak, Lu Cheng continued, ”Brother Zhang still needs to brush up on the basics and learn a lot of things.”

”I’m not some big boss, let alone a major one. I can’t directly lead people; I need someone to lead me.”

”Moreover, I currently don’t plan to have Brother Zhang join me on previous projects I planned to work on. However, there are some project continuations that may carry some risks.”

”Risks?” Yao Xin was puzzled.
