System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Zhong Junyun obtained very detailed and thorough information this time; he knows Lu Cheng transferred the tendon suturing project to Xie Yuan’an.

But Zhong Junyun did not agree with all this.

Lu Cheng thought for a moment, then said, ”Teacher Zhong, I still feel that after so many ups and downs, I finally found an area I’m interested in.”

”Is it because you haven’t really started in orthopedics, so you haven’t found your interest?” Zhong Junyun interrupted:

”Why don’t you do this, Xiao Lu, come over first and take a look, then make a decision, okay?”

Zhong Junyun’s words were slightly roguish.

Lu Cheng replied decisively, ”I don’t think that’s good!”

Zhong Junyun was very patient this time, ”Xiao Lu, you’re being a bit petty and impulsive; the previous matter was just a small misunderstanding.”

”On my side, nothing is completely decided. You’re only hearing things, right?”

”Could it be that whatever Wang Zhe from Professor Xie Xiao’s group says, you believe it?”

”That’s not good, you know.”

Tong Yuan’an was a bit restless, almost ready to speak up directly, but since Lu Cheng hadn’t told Zhong Junyun there were others present, he restrained his emotions.

Lu Cheng said, ”Teacher Zhong? Who is Wang Zhe?”

Zhong Junyun replied, ”Xiao Lu, we’ve said this much, why pretend to be confused?”

”Director Tan from Xiangya Hospital is also a sly one; whatever he does, I can find out and verify.”

This left Tong Yuan’an afraid to move.

Wang Zhe’s background was as clear as day to a big boss like Zhong Junyun.

All these tricks from Tan Zhongyuan wouldn’t be a secret.

The reason Tan Zhongyuan dared to do this was that he wasn’t afraid of Professor Zhong Junyun finding out.

When you announce things in the department, can’t Wang Zhe talk about it outside?

It’s not some secret that can’t be leaked.

If what Wang Zhe leaked was unpublished suturing technique of the hospital, you could hold him accountable, but it’s just personnel arrangements regarding a project, you can’t target Wang Zhe for that.

From Lu Cheng’s perspective, Zhong Junyun’s words weren’t wrong, Tan Zhongyuan was also a cunning old fox and those tricks were just last-minute solutions.

His meaning was to let Lu Cheng give up on Union Hospital.

Lu Cheng replied, ”Teacher Zhong, what Director Tan did, I also don’t know; the truth of the matter won’t be covered or distorted by mere recounting.”

”Just like the many basic rules of research I’ve been reading recently, the conclusions of scientific papers shouldn’t have a direction error due to repetition by another team.”

Experiments that can’t be repeated are not recognized in the scientific community.

Unembellished recounts won’t affect your decisions, right?

Zhong Junyun finally took a few deep breaths and said, ”Xiao Lu, how about I apologize to you? I actually got caught in the trick myself.”

Lu Cheng hurriedly said, ”Teacher Zhong, you don’t need to overstate it.”

Zhong Junyun said, ”Don’t interrupt me first; let me tell you, that Han Loning, guess who recommended him to me?”

”That’s right, it was Liu Huanglong from Zhongnan Hospital.”

”I only realized now, the real intention of Liu Huanglong not drawing Han Loning to his side, and instead recommending him to me!”

The information contained here was a bit overwhelming, and Tong Yuan’an, being unaware, was utterly confused.

What were these outside moves, what was Liu Huanglong, he had no idea.

But Lu Cheng understood what Professor Zhong Junyun was saying.

Yet, this issue was worth delving into—like why did Liu Huanglong want Lu Cheng to ”break up” with Professor Zhong? Why bring in a Han Loning?

Only, Lu Cheng didn’t need to dwell so much on it, and what did this have to do with him: ”Teacher Zhong, your words carry too much personal bias.”

Zhong Junyun was a very mature professor and equally a very mature leader, beginning to deduce based on results: ”Now let me ask you, if Zhongnan Hospital presented reasons why you must go there, would you?”

”I wouldn’t go!”

”They wouldn’t have a compelling reason for me to go.” Lu Cheng even laughed at this.

”Teacher Zhong, you’re overthinking it. How could I be that important, worthy of them spending so much effort?”

Zhong Junyun said, ”It wasn’t before, but now there is.”

”Because you currently have enough basic parameters!”

Lu Cheng was slightly puzzled, ”Basic parameters?”

Zhong Junyun said, ”Let’s put aside ethics, law, and integrity for the moment. A researcher’s basic parameters are just a few things.”

”Firstly, there is knowledge reserve, continuous learning ability, and interdisciplinary vision. In our system, knowledge reserves are relatively not valuable, but continuous learning ability and interdisciplinary vision are more valued.”

”While currently unquantifiable, let me cautiously give you a relatively comprehensive score. If the full score is ten, your knowledge reserve can be four points, continuous learning ability is nine points, and interdisciplinary vision can receive full marks.”

”More importantly is your innovative thinking! This is the most important.”

”If full score for interdisciplinary vision is ten points, then innovative thinking can weigh at least fifty points. You can be above forty-five.”

”Just looking at these few items alone, your comprehensive score is very high.”

These are merely phenomena explained by Professor Zhong Junyun; he didn’t give Zhongnan Hospital’s so-called compelling reasons for Lu Cheng to go.

Lu Cheng smiled as he said, ”Teacher Zhong, even if that’s the case, whether I go or not is my personal choice.”

”If you’re worried about that, I truly think there’s no need.”
