System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Yao Xin’s eyes bulged: ”What do you mean by causing trouble? Can you speak some human language?”

Oh well, this nephew of mine has dug out all my old stories, and no persona can stand in front of Lu Cheng.

What kind of gu insect did Lu Cheng plant in Zhang Tiesheng?

...

When Lu Cheng returned to the office, Tian Zhiwei and others from the emergency department asked why Yao Xin was looking for Lu Cheng, and Lu Cheng just said they were having a meal together!~

Tian Zhiwei and others didn’t see anything wrong with Lu Cheng’s explanation. Regardless of whether Lu Cheng knew Yao Xin before, the rumors in the operating room that Lu Cheng once made Yao Xin stand against the wall were enough reason for Yao Xin to do so.

In a city-level hospital, they demonstrated the concept of meritocracy to the fullest.

Moreover, the meritocracy in hospitals is unaffected by ”power” from other sectors.

No leader wants their family to encounter a bunch of connections when they come to the hospital for treatment.

Even if there are connections, they must have ability.

Zhu Yuanzhou stroked his chubby white chin, half-smiling: ”Looks like you’re pretty familiar with Dean Yao? From now on, you might as well be my boss!”

Tian Zhiliang and others also laughed as they looked at Lu Cheng, their expressions becoming quite subtle.

Lu Cheng replied: ”Not familiar at all. This is just our second meeting.”

Lu Cheng certainly knew that Yao Xin was the deputy dean, but he hadn’t expected Yao Xin to be Zhang Tiesheng’s uncle, information readily available on the official website.

Lu Cheng might not know who heads a particular department, but he should at least know who the deans and vice-deans are beforehand, right?

”It’s hard to say. This time, I might just be getting a talking-to. After all, Dean Yao had previously called me to join the Hepatobiliary Surgery, and I declined,” Lu Cheng replied.

”You must really have thick skin! I hope you go and come back well. This Dean Yao holds grudges!” Zhu Yuanzhou’s expression tightened.

”...”

Following that, Lu Cheng, along with Director Xiao Zhaoxi, met the two deputy directors of the emergency department, Director Wu Yunxiang and Director Zhou Zhaofu.

Wu Yunxiang is the head of the internal medicine group, and Zhou Zhaofu is the leader of the emergency department’s medical team. They are the main forces in the internal medicine and rescue areas.

After introducing Lu Cheng to both of them, Xiao Zhaoxi said: ”I heard Dean Yao came looking for you. If you can’t refuse, just hurry up and go, don’t waste time.”

”Alright, thank you, Director Xiao. I’ll come see you later this afternoon.” Lu Cheng said.

It was said in the department that Xiao Zhaoxi would be on duty all day today, even at night.

So, Lu Cheng couldn’t just go home after lunch.

As Lu Cheng turned to leave, Xiao Zhaoxi suddenly said: ”Lu Cheng, you’ve hidden quite deep, huh? Since when did you accumulate so many connections?”

Xiao Zhaoxi had always thought that he was Lu Cheng’s only connection in the Xiangzhou People’s Hospital, but as he realized and valued Lu Cheng’s personal ability, he increasingly found his previous thinking incorrect.

”Uncle Xiao, if I told you I don’t even know what connections I have or when I accumulated them, would you believe me?” Lu Cheng said sincerely.

Xiao Zhaoxi nodded: ”It seems you really don’t know. Or perhaps the nature of the last incident was very special, and your ability to save the day earned you many people’s recognition.”

”Or maybe, the person you operated on last time said something for you, so...”

After speaking, Xiao Zhaoxi smiled again: ”I don’t mean to pry. It’s just that with us being officials, the fact that we knew each other in advance shouldn’t be too obvious. Otherwise, it might cause complications.”

Xiao Zhaoxi is a leader; although the emergency department’s retest situation is special, if someone manipulates their relationship and the selection exam issues, handling it could still be quite troublesome.

”Alright, Director Xiao.” Lu Cheng nodded lightly, understanding that Xiao Zhaoxi, as a leader, naturally had his own concerns.

...

It wasn’t yet lunchtime, but Lu Cheng still followed the teahouse directions sent by Zhang Tiesheng and walked over.

The private rooms in the teahouse were quite soundproofed, and when Lu Cheng arrived, Yao Xin was interrogating Zhang Tiesheng about some detailed information.

Of course, Yao Xin seemed a bit headache-ridden, clutching his forehead and chest, looking quite distressed.

”You? Really.” Yao Xin looked exasperated.

”I’ve been completely used up by you, front and back, inside and out.”

Zhang Tiesheng must have given Yao Xin a lot of information beforehand. After careful consideration, he said: ”Uncle, I think even though Director Du is using you, he’s indeed given me a great opportunity.”

”When Lu Cheng starts his project at the State Hospital, he’ll definitely face a lot of resistance. If we can provide Lu Cheng with a convenient platform for his projects, I’ll be the most direct beneficiary.”

Yao Xin glanced at Lu Cheng, who was entering the room, and stood up willingly, politely saying: ”Good morning, Dr. Lu.”

”Dean Yao, Brother Zhang, haven’t you ordered yet?”

”Waiter, time to order.” Lu Cheng changed the subject proactively.

Before understanding Yao Xin’s exact intentions, Lu Cheng didn’t dare to carelessly discuss any terms with him.

Know yourself and your enemy, defeat is unlikely.

Lu Cheng was definitely not a match for such a seasoned player.

But for now, Zhang Tiesheng’s purpose in bringing Yao Xin was simple: to prepare a multi-site practice application form for Lu Cheng in advance, so that he could file a case with the medical department of Xiangzhou People’s Hospital.

In the future, he could go down to Long County to perform surgeries at any time.

In this way, Lu Cheng could rely on the surgical authorization from the State People’s Hospital to perform authorized surgical techniques at the County Hospital.
