System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”But these are all maybes. I can’t change my parents’ minds, nor can I change their current living conditions for now...”

Mu Nanshu could tell that Lu Cheng’s words carried a hint of ’inferiority,’ but she was smart enough not to say that it had nothing to do with her or something similar.

Instead, after a bit of thinking, she said, ”Parents’ perceptions can only change gradually. Actually, I think my parents have a point.”

”When a person’s wealth hasn’t reached a certain level, money is most important. After crossing that line, emotions matter more.”

”Everyone’s life is full of regrets; my parents have many too. Like falling out with my uncle, or being unable to change my grandfather’s situation.”

”He also said that fortunately, he still had a few brothers, but what he couldn’t understand was why real brothers, who already have a little family business, could end up this way.”

”Moreover, my parents worry if their previous apprehensions towards you would affect your feelings for me or target me...”

”But I’ve summed it up, we have a relatively advantageous condition, which is that my parents and your parents already knew each other, and their relationship was quite good. So, when we get married, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship will be relatively easy to handle.”

”As for you, it’s like fulfilling that old saying.”

The more a father-in-law looks at his son-in-law, the more pleased he becomes.

Of course, Lu Cheng didn’t feel particularly thrilled: ”Let’s rest for now. We’ll talk when we meet tomorrow. These things can’t be called contradictions.”

”No matter what, when my dad drinks with Uncle Mu Leng, and my mom chats with Aunt Yan, they are very happy and joyful.”

”It’s good enough if both families can have a connection point, allowing them to put down all their defenses and feel completely relaxed.”

...

Feng County, an emergency management office.

After hearing about the vicious car accident in Feng County and reading the report, Tan Li’s voice was slightly awkward: ”Xie Huan? What are you guys trying to do? What’s the point of the reports you’ve submitted?”

”Director Tan? What do you mean?” The counterparts to Tan Li’s group were from the emergency office of the health department and relevant officials from the county party committee office and county public security bureau.

In such a vile incident, there are plenty of actions to take, including but not limited to preventing it from becoming news and understanding its causes and effects.

If the video of the head being paraded on the street spreads online, needless to say, many people would face severe repercussions!

Accompanying Tan Li to Feng County were not only individuals from the State Health and Health Commission emergency management bureau but also other state leaders: ”Tan Li, is there a problem with this report?”

Tan Li circled the name Lu Cheng in the report and said, ”Director Li, this Dr. Lu Cheng is from the State People’s Hospital.”

Tan Li’s words instantly caused quite a few people to turn pale with shock.

The State People’s Hospital is one of the only two Class 3 hospitals in the Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture, the other being the State Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.

Although the State People’s Hospital and the Feng County People’s Hospital don’t have a superior-subordinate relationship, they are part of a medical consortium without jurisdictional ties.

But for a Class 2 hospital to say that a doctor from a Class 3 hospital made a diagnostic mistake and failed to detect a ”critical illness” in time!

Is this really appropriate?

It’s like saying someone from the state public security bureau, while on vacation and catching a thief, failed to notice a critical lead, resulting in not capturing everyone in the end.

The county’s public security says you’re ”not careful enough”!

Li Bo, being in charge of criminal investigations, can stay out of car accident hit-and-run incidents, but when it comes to publicly parading a head on the street, it’s inevitably under his jurisdiction.

Xie Huan, from the county health and health commission’s emergency management office, turned pale and incredulous after hearing this: ”Director Tan, there must be a misunderstanding here, right? Our investigation found that Dr. Lu is from Long County People’s Hospital.”

”That’s what he himself said.”

Tan Li explained: ”Yes, his records might still be in Long County, and his practice location too.”

”But he has successfully passed the selection exam and is about to start working at the State People’s Hospital.”

Tan Li then looked at Li Bo and the direct leader from the State Health and Health Commission: ”Director Li, Director Tong, I remember Lu Cheng because of that previous incident.”

”It was Dr. Lu Cheng who was found, and then we managed to resolve that troublesome issue appropriately.”

Tan Li did not explicitly mention any inspection team, but everyone present knew about it.

However, they did not focus on who performed the operation; they were more concerned about the attitude of the inspection team and if it would escalate the matter.

Ultimately leading to national security or the military getting directly involved.

Incidents of this nature are very sensitive, with historical precedence—inspection teams fearing Xiangzhou, and Xiangzhou equally concerned about the inspection teams filing malicious reports.

Xie Huan, upon hearing this, felt a bit embarrassed at the moment.

But his reaction was swift, immediately responding, ”Director Tan, there might indeed be some issues with this report.”

”The intentions of our leaders were actually to commend Dr. Lu; after all, he was helpful outside his working hours.”

”It’s probably the people in the County Hospital trying to shirk responsibility, so they falsified some things.”

Li Bo did not make a statement, merely asked: ”Xie Huan, shouldn’t you conduct another thorough investigation? Maybe this Dr. Lu indeed failed to diagnose in time?”

”He has the protection of emergency self-defense status, so he won’t suffer any penalties or implications.”
