After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 290: Chapter 291: The First Person to Share [8]

The phone only rang once before Leng Zimo’s voice came through.

”In a meeting, what’s up?”

Luo Xiaoqian stuck out her tongue, ”Sorry, then I’ll hang up!”

”Don’t hang up, finish what you’re saying.”

From the other end of the phone, Leng Zimo’s voice carried an irresistible authoritarian tone.

Without letting her finish, he wouldn’t be able to concentrate on his meeting anyway.

Luo Xiaoqian hurriedly said, ”It’s nothing much, just that the press conference went really well and they said the sales figures are looking good. I just wanted to tell you, go back to your meeting, I haven’t called Xu Xia yet, I’ll go let her know.

She hadn’t even notified Xu Xia yet, which meant he was the first person she called to share the news?

Leng Zimo’s lips curved into a smile, ”Okay, see you tonight!”

”Promise not to stand me up?” Luo Xiaoqian asked with a laugh.

Leng Zimo looked up and glanced at the few subordinates at the conference table who had just been sneaking peeks at him and, the moment he looked up, immediately averted their gaze, ”Promise not to stand you up!”

”Then I’m hanging up, you have a good meeting.” Luo Xiaoqian hung up the phone with a smiling face and then dialed Xu Xia’s number, ”Mr. Xu, it’s me!”

”What’s up, superstar? Are you inviting me to have a drink to celebrate, or are you planning to buy me an LV?” Xu Xia’s voice immediately came through from the other end.

Luo Xiaoqian pretended to be displeased, ”You’ve got some nerve, you didn’t even show up for your good sister’s first single release?”

”You know I’m out of town. If it weren’t for that, I definitely would have been there!” Xu Xia stopped teasing, ”Xiao Qian, I’m really sorry!”

If it weren’t for Xu Xia’s commitment to participate in the ”Huaxia Idol” event, she would definitely have rushed to the scene of Luo Xiaoqian’s new song release, which was such an important occasion.

”I’m just kidding with you, I heard about it already. You just work hard and make sure to bring me back a top-three national finish, or else I won’t let you off easy!” Luo Xiaoqian laughed as she stepped into the elevator, ”Alright, I’m entering the elevator now. We’ll talk again when you’re back in Beijing!”

With Xu Xia also being busy on her end, the two agreed to meet up in Beijing before hanging up.

Luo Xiaoqian left Emperor View, put on a sun hat and visor, and casually walked onto the street.

When she passed by a music store, she immediately spotted her own giant poster displayed in the most prominent spot of the window.

Moved, she stepped inside, but after looking around on the shelf, she couldn’t find her new single.

”Excuse me, why don’t you have Luo Xiaoqian’s single CD?” she asked the saleswoman who came over, puzzled.

With her oversized sunglasses and visor, plus Luo Xiaoqian had changed into the most ordinary T-shirt and jeans, the saleswoman did not realize that the person standing in front of her was Luo Xiaoqian, the performer of the single that had just sold out.

”I apologize, we didn’t stock much and that single CD is already sold out. We’re contacting for more stock, and if you really want one you can leave your name and phone number, I can reserve one for you tomorrow.”

”No need, thank you!”

Luo Xiaoqian walked out of the record store, feeling both excited and a bit amused.

She never thought there would come a day when buying a copy of her own CD would be so difficult.

After roaming several streets until dusk, Luo Xiaoqian finally found her single in a music and book store and without hesitation, she immediately paid for it.

Glancing at the watch, realizing there wasn’t much time left until the appointment on the card, she excitedly hailed a taxi and sped off toward the restaurant on the card.
