After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 270: Chapter 271: Luo Xiaoqian, Keep it Up【7】

”Inside the Arctic Circle, there’s a Santa Claus Post Office that receives letters to Santa Claus from all over the world...”

His voice came through the receiver, ringing in her ears. His tone was actually quite beautiful, a rich baritone.

As she listened to him describe the fairy-tale-like post office, and talk about the reindeer of Lapland, the Midnight Sun and Polar Night, and the gently flowing Kemijoki River, her excitement gradually calmed down after a rollercoaster of emotions, relaxing her mind until sleepiness crept up on her.

Without realizing it, her hand holding the phone tilted to one side, and then she fell asleep.

On the other end of the phone, Leng Zimo listened to the long silence from the other end and slowly exhaled a puff of smoke.

”Good night!”

After whispering those two words, he finally hung up the phone.

She was asleep, but he was not.

Putting down the phone and sitting at the desk, he looked at the blank credit card in front of him. A thought struck him, and he picked up the pen from the desk and started writing attentively.

When it was four o’clock in the Maldives, the phone in Luo Xiaoqian’s room rang again.

The sleeping Luo Xiaoqian stretched out her arm, yawned, and fumbled for a while before she managed to find the handset of the phone and bring it to her ear.

”Hello?”

”It’s four o’clock; time to wake up.”

On the other end of the phone, Leng Zimo’s voice came through clearly.

”Ah!”

Luo Xiaoqian suddenly became mostly alert and sat up in a panic. Moving too abruptly, she pulled on the phone cord, and the handset slid off the edge of the table. She cried out in alarm and scrambled to catch the handset.

”What’s happened?”

Hearing the chaotic sounds coming from the other end of the phone, Leng Zimo was full of concern.

”It’s nothing, I just almost pulled the phone onto the floor,” Luo Xiaoqian explained, embarrassed. With this commotion, her mind, which was somewhat groggy, was now completely alert. ”Why haven’t you slept?”

”Couldn’t sleep, so I took the opportunity to wake you up.”

His tone was calm and natural.

He made it sound easy, but he must have been worried she would oversleep, so he waited until now.

Luo Xiaoqian was moved and felt pity for him, ”Actually, I set an alarm.”

”But your phone is already out of battery.”

She turned her head, grabbed her phone, and pressed a button, but there was no response. The long phone call the day before had drained the battery.

”I’m sorry, Zimo, I’m so clumsy.”

”It’s okay, go wash your face and have a good day at work. The time difference here is three hours behind you; it is only one in the morning, so I can still sleep for a few hours. Don’t worry about me.”

”Then you get some sleep early; I’m going to wash my face.”

”Remember to charge your phone first. And remember, no matter what time it is, as long as you want, you can always call me. Except when I’m on a plane, my phone will always be on. Luo Xiaoqian, go for it!”

”Yes!” she replied with a laugh, ”Good night!”

After hanging up the phone, she energetically dashed into the bathroom.

Half an hour later, when the other staff members gradually appeared in the dining room, they saw that Luo Xiaoqian was already neatly dressed, helping to serve the buffet breakfast on the tables. Despite the slight signs of tiredness on her small face, it radiated an intense enthusiasm.

”Good morning, everyone! I’ve already ordered breakfast for all of us!”

The others looked at each other, all surprised.

Was this girl, who seemed completely out of it just yesterday, really the same person?
