After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 251: Chapter 252 Sorry [8]

He had lived for over two decades, and even when he was competing for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in his youth, he had never been this nervous and anxious.

Pulling her into his arms again, Leng Zimo’s arms tightened around her.

”I just knew it, you like me, you are mine, Luo Xiaoqian, you must be mine, promise me, that you’ll always stay with me!”

His voice was still commanding, but within that command, there was a deep affection and tenderness speaking out.

His embrace was warm, warm enough to shield her from all the storms outside.

Of this, Luo Xiaoqian never doubted.

For a moment, she nearly agreed.

But when he once again held her face in his hands and seriously asked her for confirmation, Luo Xiaoqian hesitated.

”I... can’t promise that right now.”

”Why?” Leng Zimo frowned.

”Zimo!” she said firmly, looking at him, ”Are you sure, you really like me?”

The man in front of her was too outstanding, and she felt so ordinary, she did not believe there was a reason for him to like her.

Seeing the uncertainty in her eyes, Leng Zimo’s lips lifted, and he smiled.

”Silly girl, of course I like you.”

If he didn’t like her, why would he be so anxious and insecure time after time?

If he didn’t like her, would he have considered her thoughts so carefully?

If he didn’t like her, would he kill someone in a moment of anger?

...

When she heard those dream-like words she never dared to hope for, Luo Xiaoqian wasn’t wildly overjoyed.

”Then what about me do you like?”

Leng Zimo touched her small face, ”I like everything.”

This answer did not bring Luo Xiaoqian joy; instead, it sunk her heart even further.

Like everything?

How could that be possible, when she had so many flaws?

Sure enough, to him, she probably was just a novel scenery that was appealing because it was new, and he would likely grow tired of it soon enough.

”So now, can you promise me?”

Leng Zimo asked again.

”I...” His eyes clearly showed his hope, but she couldn’t agree, because she knew he wouldn’t always like her, ”I’m sorry, Zimo, I can’t promise you!”

Lu Hao had told her he liked her back then, and even said he wanted to be with her forever.

But what happened later? He still betrayed her all the same.

She didn’t want to taste that feeling a second time.

To him, losing her may just be missing out on a view.

To her, once she fell in, it could be another agony that pierced her heart.

She, didn’t dare.

”Why?” Leng Zimo asked unwillingly, ”You like me, I like you too, why can’t we be together?”

”Being together isn’t as simple as liking someone!” Luo Xiaoqian’s chest hurt, ”And can you guarantee, that you’ll always like me? Forever, Leng Zimo, do you know how long forever is? It’s a lifetime, a lifetime!”

Leng Zimo, who had never been rejected in love, how could he understand the thoughts of someone wounded by affection?

He just frowned, ”So what, you haven’t even tried, how do you know I won’t like you forever?”

”I’m sorry!” Luo Xiaoqian bit her lip, lowering her face, she didn’t dare meet his eyes, ”Although I can’t promise you, as long as you’re not tired of me, I’ll always be by your side, until the day you tell me to leave.”

What was she doing?

Was this her way of repaying him?!
