After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 269: Chapter 270 I’m Happy Too [6]

He walked to the window and gazed out at the sunlit Lapland night, Zimo spoke again.

”Kind, brave, sensible, persistent... sometimes a bit silly and dull, preferring to suffer injustice herself rather than trouble others...”

In the beginning, Luo Xiaoqian was somewhat confused, but then she caught on.

”Are you talking about me?”

”Idiot!” Zimo grunted, ”Didn’t you ask what I liked about you?”

That day when he said ”I like everything about you,” she didn’t believe him, so he had no choice but to list them one by one.

There it was again—did this man feel uncomfortable if he didn’t call her an idiot?

”I’m not stupid!” Luo Xiaoqian retorted softly on the other end of the phone.

”Stupid!”

”Not stupid!”

”Stupid!”

Luo Xiaoqian couldn’t hold it in anymore, ”Not stupid, not stupid, definitely not stupid!”

Hearing the voice on the other end of the phone starting to explode, Zimo smiled with satisfaction, ”I like you like this, don’t always cry.”

On this end of the phone, Luo Xiaoqian went silent.

Turns out, he was deliberately teasing her.

”Alright, it’s getting late. You have work tomorrow, right? Go wash your face now, and then get a good night’s sleep.”

”Should I hang up first?”

”Okay!”

Luo Xiaoqian carefully hung up the receiver with both hands.

She walked into the bathroom, washed her face with warm water, and then returned to her room.

Her face was full of smiles.

The man said he loved her; he was not only not angry with her but also treated her so well.

She approached the bed, looked at the rolling sea outside and spread her arms, tossing herself onto the big bed.

”Luo Xiaoqian, you are so lucky!”

As she spoke, she stretched all fours and rolled on the bed like a child. Turning over, she noticed the still-lit phone by the pillow and sat up in shock.

Damn it, how could she forget not to hang up the phone?

Carefully picking up the phone, she brought it to her ear and held her breath, listening intently.

There was no sound on the other end of the phone.

Good, good, he hadn’t heard.

Just as she was about to move the phone away and hang up, his voice suddenly came through, deep and resonant.

”I’m very happy too!”

Sure enough, he had heard it!

Luo Xiaoqian’s face instantly turned as red as the charcoals in a stove, annoyed, she said, ”Why haven’t you hung up yet?”

On the other end of the phone, Zimo switched the phone to his other hand, ”Now, lie on your pillow, close your eyes, and wait until you fall asleep. I’ll hang up then.”

This girl always thinks too much— who knows if she would worry needlessly upon seeing him hanging up the phone. Besides, if she didn’t sleep, he wouldn’t be at ease either.

She obediently climbed into bed, but the excitement in her heart kept her wide awake.

Glancing at her wristwatch, it was already showing one o’clock in the morning. She would have to get up in just over two hours to shoot. If she didn’t catch a little sleep, she wouldn’t have any energy, but the more she wanted to sleep, the more she couldn’t fall asleep. After tossing and turning a few times, she couldn’t help but reach out, taking the phone from the table.

The call was still connected.

”Are you still there?”

”Yes!”

”Let’s hang up now. I can’t sleep anyway, and I have to get up at four for the shoot. I’m afraid I won’t be able to wake up on time.”

”Then let’s just chat!” Zimo took a cigar from a box, lit it, and took a gentle puff, ”Do you know where I am right now? Lapland, where Santa Claus is from, with many reindeer farms around here.
