After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 282: Chapter 283: A Special Performance for Two [10]

He handed her one and then pulled out the 3D glasses from his pocket and placed them on her face before sitting down next to her.

The lights dimmed, and the opening credits for ”Despicable Me” appeared on the screen.

At first, Luo Xiaoqian thought it was because the showtime hadn’t started yet, so no audience had come in, but once the movie began, she realized this was a private screening just for her and him.

The plot was incredibly funny, yet as she watched, her vision began to blur.

Leng Zimo wasn’t paying too much attention to the movie; due to his work, he usually got to see films before their general release. Noticing something was off with her emotions, he turned to her with a puzzled look.

”Don’t like it?”

Luo Xiaoqian lifted her hand to remove the glasses from her face and extended her arms around his neck in a hug.

”Zimo, thank you, thank you for all these surprises. I’ll always remember this day.”

The first bouquet of teddy bears, the first private movie screening, the first double scoop of ice cream...

She would remember today, for the rest of her life.

Because to her, these were once dreams, and he, effortlessly, made them come true.

Leng Zimo didn’t quite understand her emotions because these things were trivial for him.

It’s often the case that a simple sentence for one person can be an unreachable dream for another.

”If you don’t like it, we can switch to another movie, or go somewhere else to watch?”

He asked gently, holding her.

”No,” she let go of him and sat back in her place, wiping her eyes with her hands. ”This is the first private screening of my life, and I am going to watch it until the very last second!”

Then, she really did watch the movie, eating ice cream and laughing heartily at the plot.

Leng Zimo sat by her side, quietly observing her.

As the light shifted, her face flickered between shadow and brightness, but her smile remained ever so brilliant and dazzling.

”Leng Zimo, look, it’s really funny!”

She waved her hand, shaking his arm.

Leng Zimo turned his face to watch the movie with her.

A plot he had seen before and not found amusing suddenly seemed to have a hint of humor this time.

Smiles began to play on his face too, though not as exaggerated as hers.

Luo Xiaoqian kept her word and watched until THE END appeared on the screen, and the lights came on before she stood up.

”This is the funniest movie I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Leng Zimo, who was always critical and rarely watched a movie from start to finish, also watched a comedy to its very last second for the first time.

As she stood up, it suddenly dawned on him.

There was never such a thing as a perfect work of art; perhaps his pursuit had been somewhat extreme before.

The quality of a movie isn’t determined by how many awards it garners or the honors it achieves; if it can move the audience, make them cry or laugh, that’s enough.

Leng Zimo, who had been discontented with the screenplay adaptation for days, suddenly felt a sense of clarity.

He took out his phone from his pocket and swiftly dialed a number.

”Tell the creative department, I’ve approved the script!” After hanging up, he smiled at Luo Xiaoqian. ”Xiao Qian, thank you.”

”Thank me for what?” Luo Xiaoqian was puzzled.

”Thank you for helping me solve a big problem.”

She helped him solve a problem?

”Me?” Luo Xiaoqian pointed to her own face, ”Are you sure?”

”Yes, you!” He took her hand once more, ”I’m absolutely certain!”
