After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 253: Chapter 254 His Indifference【10】

He hadn’t slept all night, yet she could sleep?!

In his heart, was he truly worth so little to her?!

”You have ten minutes to pack everything up. I’m waiting for you in the car!”

After dropping the command, he turned and walked into the villa.

Luo Xiaoqian dared not dally, bustling into action.

Dismantling the tent, putting away the plates...

It was only after a dozen minutes that she hurriedly ran to his car and sat down in the passenger’s seat.

As always, she was still unable to buckle her seatbelt.

Leng Zimo noticed this detail, his hand reaching out again, only to retract midway and press down hard on the accelerator. The car surged forward violently, causing Luo Xiaoqian, completely unprepared, to sway and hit her head against the side window.

It really hurt.

Yet she merely raised her hand to rub the spot and then sat up straight to fasten her seatbelt.

She had expected him to scold her, but there was nothing.

Turning her head to look at his profile, Luo Xiaoqian hesitated several times and finally spoke up in a soft voice.

”Zi...”

Beep!

She had barely uttered a word when he pressed down hard on the horn. The car instantly accelerated, squeezing between two trucks to merge onto the fast lane.

Knowing that this was his way of expressing displeasure, Luo Xiaoqian bit her lip and dared not speak another word.

From Beidaihe River all the way back to Beijing, Leng Zimo didn’t utter a word, nor did he glance at her once. It was as if there was no one else in the car, as if she did not exist at all.

Compared to his usual domineering ways, this disregard made Luo Xiaoqian feel even worse.

If possible, she would have preferred him to yell at her or even to bite her. His current attitude was really heartbreaking for her.

But Leng Zimo never did.

The car drove straight into the underground parking of Emperor View Building. Leng Zimo opened the door and got out without so much as a glance at her, headed directly towards the elevator.

After getting out of the car and watching his figure disappear into the elevator, the tears Luo Xiaoqian had held back all along finally began to fall.

After closing the car door for him, she turned and walked towards the exit of the parking lot.

He had not yet approved her proposal, and going to Asia View now was completely meaningless. But where could she go?

It was after nine o’clock, peak time for people to go to work.

Luo Xiaoqian stood in the blinding sunlight outside the parking lot, surrounded by people rushing to their jobs. No one looked at her, and every face bore a similar indifference, everyone busy fighting for their own lives, for their own reasons. Who would care about a stranger passing by?

She walked aimlessly until a car came out of an intersection in front of her. As she continued to walk forward, the driver finally honked the horn. Luo Xiaoqian, startled, hastily made way, only then realizing she had unwittingly arrived near World City.

Just then, her phone in her bag suddenly rang.

Luo Xiaoqian took out her phone, saw Zhuo Yannan’s number on the screen, and immediately answered, ”This is Luo Xiaoqian.”

”Xiao Qian, hello, this is William!” a somewhat familiar male voice answered.

”William?” Luo Xiaoqian did not recognize him at first.

”Oh, I’m Zhuo Yannan. Since my name is similar to Teacher Ya Nan’s, most people call me by my English name!” Zhuo Yannan explained with a laugh over the phone, ”The thing is, I’ve just received notice that your proposal has been successfully approved. If you don’t have anything particularly important right now, come to the office. We can discuss the work plan.”
