After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 283: Chapter 284: Anything You Want【1】

The two of them left the movie theater together, and it was already dusk outside, with the lights just starting to come on. After consulting with Luo Xiaoqian, Leng Zimo took her to Quanjude for roast duck.

After dinner, it was only eight o’clock.

”We still have time. Where would you like to go? Yansha, Wangfujing, or International Trade...”

The movie was watched, dinner was eaten, and the next item on the agenda was shopping!

”Wangfujing!”

Leng Zimo parked the car at the Orient Xintiandi parking lot, and the two of them went shopping together. However, Luo Xiaoqian began to lose interest after only a short while.

It wasn’t that the items weren’t nice, but the prices were just too steep.

Any random item could easily cost five figures, which was beyond what she could afford.

Now, apart from his gold card and the two million in his bank card, the money that truly belonged to her was just a few hundred yuan.

”I can buy it for you.”

Seeing her thoughts, Leng Zimo pulled her aside and said in a low voice.

Luo Xiaoqian turned her face, ”How can that be? It’s something I want to give you; how can you be the one to pay for it?”

”For me?”

”Yeah!” Luo Xiaoqian smiled at him, ”It’s only polite to reciprocate. You treated me to dinner, a movie, and took care of my flower. Of course, I have to show my appreciation in some way!”

Watching her smiling face, he pondered for a moment.

”Since it’s a gift for me, then, can I have anything I want?”

”Of course!” Luo Xiaoqian agreed, adding swiftly, ”as long as it’s within my budget.”

”Definitely within your budget!”

Leng Zimo grabbed her hand and led her away from Orient Xintiandi with quick strides, heading to the New Dong’an Market located underground not far away, inside a store with a signboard ”Unconventional” hanging above.

This was a shop specializing in traditional handicrafts such as clay figurines and sculptures. The shelves were full of colorful merchandise, some as small as a finger, while others stood taller than a person.

There weren’t many customers inside the store, where an old man sat on a chair, moulding a clay doll. He didn’t make any special efforts to greet them as they entered.

Leng Zimo looked around and his gaze settled on the clay doll in the craftsman’s hands.

”I’ll take this one!”

Luo Xiaoqian was discovering such a place in Wangfujing for the first time and looked around curiously, feeling a sense of novelty. Hearing him speak, she turned to see the craftsman’s almost completed clay doll.

It was a chubby doll dressed in Tang attire, with two tiny buns atop her head, and although her face hadn’t been painted yet, by her expression alone, she was bound to have a bright smile.

”How much for this one, sir?” Luo Xiaoqian immediately asked for the price.

”60!” The old man gently blew on the pigment and gave the price.

”Alright, I’ll take it!” Luo Xiaoqian’s heart, which had been lifted with apprehension, immediately settled back down. Sixty yuan was still affordable for her.

She reached into her bag for money, and Leng Zimo didn’t compete with her. Instead, he asked the old man, ”Can I do the painting myself?”

The old man, whose eyelids had stayed down the whole time, finally lifted them to glance at him before handing over the clay doll.

Leng Zimo took a seat, picked up a brush, glanced at Luo Xiaoqian, who was curiously looking over, dipped the brush in paint, and started to outline the features.

With a few strokes, he painted a face that radiated a brilliant smile, resembling Luo Xiaoqian to a great extent.

The brightness in the old man’s eyes surfaced, ”By the looks of it, are you a pro?”

”Just doodling.”

Leng Zimo turned the clay doll around and naturally took Luo Xiaoqian’s hand in his.
