After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 263: Chapter 264: The Most Complex and Elusive Species [10]

After receiving Zhuo Yannan’s affirmative response, Leng Zimo finally hung up the phone.

”Zimo!” Xu Xiaoyang approached from not far away, ”Remember to write me a postcard later, with your autograph and some good wishes.”

”Teacher Xu, what are you doing?” Leng Zimo asked, puzzled.

”One of my little friends is your fan; she knew I was with you and even called to ask about you,” Xu Xiaoyang said with a smile. ”I really admire this girl. Do you want me to introduce you to her? You’re not getting any younger, work is important, but don’t neglect your personal life too much. When I was your age, I was already a father.”

Anderson, seeing the two of them chatting, walked over curiously.

He couldn’t understand Chinese, so he asked Xu Xiaoyang curiously what they were talking about.

”Nothing much, I’m just preparing to introduce a girlfriend to Zimo,” Xu Xiaoyang said with a smile.

”Really?” Anderson smirked, ”You don’t need to worry about that; Mo already has a girlfriend.”

”No way?” Xu Xiaoyang was surprised.

”Really, I’ve met her,” Anderson shrugged. ”A very beautiful Chinese girl, quite special.”

”You’ve met her?” Xu Xiaoyang grew even more surprised and curious. ”Zimo, that’s not right of you. How come Anderson has met her, and I don’t know about it?”

He and Leng Zimo had collaborated many times before and could be considered close friends despite their age difference.

Leng Zimo felt helpless; at this moment, he was in no mood to discuss Luo Xiaoqian with them.

However, since both men were much older and considered his seniors, it wouldn’t be appropriate to treat them as casually as he would Leng Zirui and Huangfu Ao, so he could only shrug and steer the conversation back to work.

”Gentlemen, shouldn’t we go scout for locations first?”

Anderson and Xu Xiaoyang were seasoned observers and naturally had sharp eyes. Although Leng Zimo was good at covering up, they still guessed some of the subtleties.

”Mo!” Anderson put a hand on his shoulder, ”I’m telling you, with girls, you can’t be as cold as you are with work. You have to be passionate, passionate...”

”Right, I agree with that!” Xu Xiaoyang nodded in agreement, ”Women are the most complex and elusive creatures in the world; you need to be patient with them.”

Leng Zimo gave a wry smile, ”Can we get back to work, gentlemen?”

Xu Xiaoyang and Anderson looked at each other, one spreading his hands and the other shrugging.

The three then walked back together to continue the location scouting work.

Maldives, hotel room.

Upon hearing the knock, Luo Xiaoqian shifted her gaze from the sea view and walked over to open the door.

Yu Tong entered, holding a mug of hot milk, ”You’re still awake?”

Luo Xiaoqian invited her in, ”I slept too much on the plane; now I can’t sleep.”

”Well, here’s your milk,” Yu Tong handed her the hot milk, and they both sat down on the chairs on the balcony. Yu Tong looked at her complexion, ”Xiao Qian, are you troubled by something?”

”No, nothing,” Luo Xiaoqian said lightly, holding the milk.

”Still pretending?” Yu Tong chuckled, ”Your face is all troubled, and you’re not eating well; this isn’t like the Luo Xiaoqian I know.”

Luo Xiaoqian took a sip of her milk, ”I’m sorry for making you worry.”

”I’m not going to force you to tell me, and I’m not good at comforting words, but they really value this MTV filming. During our meeting just now, Zhuo Yannan even received a call, although he didn’t say who it was, based on how respectfully he spoke, it must have been someone high up from Emperor View, maybe even Leng Zimo himself. Right after he hung up, before the meeting could resume, he sent me to check on you...”

See you at dawn.
