After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 274: Chapter 275: The So-Called Surprise, More Shock Than Joy [2]

She quickly fished out her phone from her bag and, upon seeing the words ”Big Fool” on the screen, immediately pressed the call button.

”Where are you?!”

”Where are you?!”

On both ends of the phone, the two of them asked the question in unison.

”Guess?”

Luo Xiaoqian snatched the conversation with a laugh, her tone clearly holding a hint of triumph.

Hum, this guy, he surely couldn’t guess that she was already at home waiting for him, could he?

”At the hotel?” Leng Zimo asked from the other end.

”Wrong!” Luo Xiaoqian leaned against the door, ”Guess again?”

”You couldn’t still be at work, could you?” Leng Zimo’s tone was slightly displeased.

Luo Xiaoqian chuckled, ”Wrong again, guess once more!”

Leng Zimo was silent for a moment on the other end, his tone tinged with slight anger, ”You couldn’t have disobeyed me and gone wandering about, right? Didn’t I tell you the security there was bad and not to run around? In case...”

”Not at all!” Luo Xiaoqian didn’t want to tease him anymore, ”Alright, no more games, I’ll tell you, I’m now at World City.”

”You’re at World City?” Surprise indeed crept into Leng Zimo’s voice, just as she had imagined.

”Yep, I finished work early and we came back a day ahead of schedule. Isn’t it a pleasant surprise?”

There was silence again on the other end, ”Alright, I’ll be right back.”

Luo Xiaoqian bent down to put on her slippers, ”Have you eaten yet? I wrapped some dumplings and froze them in the fridge before I left, I wrapped them myself, you know...”

”You eat them yourself. After that, go to sleep. I might be late!”

On the other end of the phone, Leng Zimo’s face was somewhat helpless.

”Sir, to which destination would you like to book a ticket?” Behind the counter, the airport staff smiled politely.

”Beijing.” Leng Zimo handed over his credit card and ID.

”Where on earth are you? Didn’t you say you were going to return to the Capital early? Why are you still buying a ticket?” Luo Xiaoqian stopped in her tracks, surprised upon hearing the faint sound from the other side.

Leng Zimo chuckled, ”I wanted to give you a surprise but it turns out you’ve given me one instead!”

”You... You’re in Urumqi?” Luo Xiaoqian almost dropped her phone.

”I had just landed when I sent you that text message. Knowing I was still in Xinjiang, I bought a ticket and flew here on a whim!”

”I’m sorry!” Luo Xiaoqian almost felt like spitting blood with regret, ”I had no idea; I thought... to give you a surprise...”

If she had replied to his text message at that time, this mix-up wouldn’t have happened, causing him to take an unnecessary trip to Xinjiang and suffer through hours of flying, which he must be sick of by now, right?

”Alright, eat something and get some good sleep, don’t wait up for me. I’m about to board!”

On the other end of the line, Leng Zimo received his boarding pass and turned to head for the boarding gate.

Speaking of luck, there happened to be a return flight delayed; otherwise, he might have had to wait several more hours at the airport.

Hearing the chaotic airport announcement through the phone, Luo Xiaoqian was filled with regret, ”Zimo, I’m truly sorry.”

”It’s not your fault, I’m going to turn off my phone now. Don’t wait for me. Eat something and get some good sleep.”

Hearing the dial tone in her ear and lowering her hand to hang up the phone, Luo Xiaoqian wished she could give herself a good beating.

Luo Xiaoqian, this wasn’t a surprise, it was more like a shock, wasn’t it?!

But then, thinking of the word ”surprise,” she suddenly paused. That guy went straight to Xinjiang to look for her, could it be he wanted to surprise her too?

Luo Xiaoqian, you fool, you’ve messed things up again.

Glancing at the time on her phone, she just sighed helplessly.
