High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2448: Chapter 669: Raising a Toast to the Bright Moon

”...’Gē’ is the most crucial word in the spell formula of the Binding Spell, it must not be written incorrectly. Didn’t the teacher say? As long as you master the four ways to write ’Gē’, any Binding Spell can be done effortlessly!”

”...this usage was taught by the Magic Potion teacher, ’After preparing with magic, place the toad’s hind leg in an ice silkworm silk bag and wear it on the neck; or cut the corresponding part from the toad prepared with magic, crush it and take with rootless water for miraculous effect’...”

”...His name can be written as ’Ymir’, ’Ymimir’, or ’Augamir’. You just need to remember that while He sleeps, Cerothgumir emerges from His lower body, Mimir emerges from His right armpit, and Bèistè Lā emerges from His left armpit. They are the great beings indispensable in researching the origin of the Aesir God clan...”

Even though separated by thick glass, standing outside, Zheng Qing could still hear the conversation inside the room. Most of the young wizards were discussing their homework intensely and nervously — a concept extremely unfamiliar to them — while the quiet conversation between two young witches sitting in the corner caught Zheng Qing’s attention.

”...Can we really become registered wizards?” The round-faced witch stared blankly at the thick textbook in front of her: ”I can’t even keep up with half of what the teacher teaches...”

The companion sitting next to her encouraged her vigorously: ”One must have dreams, what if they come true? Just like two days ago, who would have thought we’d become students of the First University!”

Upon hearing this, Zheng Qing couldn’t help but nod slightly.

Five days ago in the morning, when he was brought into this small tavern by Korma, these seventeen or eighteen-year-old young Northern District wizards were gathered together, ’plotting’ to hold a larger, stronger protest at the First University.

Zheng Qing still vividly remembered those roaring and excited faces.

But it had only been a few days.

These agitated young wizards had already transformed into models of diligent study, from the ’grave diggers’ of the First University to its most loyal supporters.

”Indeed, just a little is enough.” The warlock murmured.

”Did you hear the conversation between Yī fú and Pàkèěr?” The North District Great Wise Person didn’t pay attention to the warlock’s muttering, instead pointing to the two witches sitting in the corner.

Zheng Qing froze for a moment before coming to his senses, giving a very small nod.

”This is the second thing I want you to know.”

Korma was satisfied as she patted his shoulder: ”These children’s foundation is indeed very poor. Those entering the preparatory class have almost never received formal secondary education...Can you imagine a group of young wizards who don’t know ’Armor Bodyguard’ learning ’Wei Shi Yan Yan’ as their first spell?”

Zheng Qing hesitated for a few seconds, then nodded very earnestly, wiping his nose. Perhaps it’s an illusion, but while looking at those studious Northern District wizards in the tavern, he unexpectedly felt like he was smelling the ’mysticism’.

This was a difficult feeling to describe, as if merely through smell, he saw the heavy and long history of the mysticism of wizards, and countless figures who continued to study this history.

”Believe.”

The young teaching assistant came back to his senses, trying to use himself as an example: ”I also never received secondary education in the Wizard World...Before entering the First University, I always thought I was just a little Taoist!”

Korma glanced at him disdainfully: ”If there’s any little Taoist in the North District who can master over a thousand basic runes, I wouldn’t be so worried. Your special case is not representative.”

On this point, Zheng Qing could accept it.

He sniffed, feeling the mysterious aura becoming clearer.

Korma frowned slightly, paused for a few seconds, then continued: ”In short, compared to the approach of other teaching assistants who directly start teaching, I suggest you first do a diagnostic test to confirm their level...How many can fully draw a talisman, how many can’t even articulate how a talisman is divided into parts, how many can’t concoct cinnabar, and so on.”

Zheng Qing lightly sniffed, nodding repeatedly.

Korma’s approach was probably her biggest difference from Professor Montreya. Compared to the professor, the witch had left the First University just a year ago and had experienced many new teaching methods more suitable for young wizards firsthand, naturally knowing which is more suited for Northern District wizards.

But the witch in front of him obviously didn’t understand the psychology of the boy who echoed her, only noticing his strange habit of constantly sniffing; she finally couldn’t hold back, furrowing her brows and asking, ”Are you having a cold? Why do you keep sniffing...Would you like some Sea Monster Langmu mixed with fire dragon blood?”

”Oh, no.”

Zheng Qing smiled awkwardly and looked up at the gloomy sky, pondering: ”I always thought that the mysterious aura in the night was a rhetorical device...But I didn’t expect to feel it today. I can now really smell the mysterious aura in the air. Before today, I always thought ’mystery’ was just a concept. I didn’t expect it to be a scent!”

Speaking of which, he raised his hand to look at the lines of his palm, thinking of the seed deep in his soul and the missing copper bean, hinting uncertainty in his tone as he guessed: ”Or perhaps, has my magic power grown to a certain bottleneck, so I can distinguish the subtle aura between heaven and earth?”

Korma looked at him suspiciously.

But before she could speak, suppressed laughter came from the roof not far from the two: ”Sorry...Your magic power may have room for growth. Moreover, the scent you’re smelling isn’t a mysterious aura, but the ’Under the Moon: Fireflies’ produced by Nina Company for Qingqiu.”

Zheng Qing followed the voice and saw Su Shijun sitting leisurely not far away. As she noticed the warlock’s gaze, she waved very friendly, and an increasingly clear ’mysterious’ aura hit his face.

Zheng Qing was instantly dumbfounded.

”What are you doing here?”

”Watching the moon,” the Upper House Member of the Moon Council leaned from the rooftop, holding a wine glass, raising it diagonally: ”Raise the glass to invite the bright moon, the shadow makes three people...”

Zheng Qing looked in the direction she raised her glass.

Today the tenth, coinciding with the eighth and ninth, but because of the overcast sky, there was no moon. In the lead-black night sky, only a few speckled points of light scattered about, making it hard to breathe just looking at them.

”No moon today.” Korma silently glanced at the big fox.

Su Shijun flipped her jade hand, and the wine glass disappeared in a flash; she sat upright, speaking earnestly: ”Without the moon in the eyes, but the moon in the heart, is a qualified member of the Moon Council...I’m just a passerby who happened to see you chatting here, so I came to take a look...And by the way, ask if so late, would you like to go to the public house to sleep?”

The last sentence, of course, wasn’t an invitation to the North District Great Wise Person.
