High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2435: Chapter 656: Befuddled by Those Close to Swine

Zheng Qing originally planned to discuss the Enchantment Spell and the Anti-love Spell with Jiang Yu on the way to see Old Yao, but unexpectedly, just a few steps out of the classroom, the witch’s footsteps suddenly stopped.

The warlock couldn’t stop in time and collided straight into the witch.

”Ah! Sorry, sorry!”

Zheng Qing immediately snapped out of his thoughts, overwhelmed by a fresh fragrance, and quickly apologized: ”I didn’t pay attention while walking...”

The witch in front of him ignored the apology from behind, not even turning her head.

”Professor.” She slightly bowed forward.

Only then did Zheng Qing notice that Old Yao was leaning slantingly in the corner of the hallway, arms crossed, happily puffing on his pipe.

Upon hearing the witch’s greeting, this Legendary Wizard seemed to just realize the arrival of the two young wizards, and waved his hand to disperse the smoke shrouding him, smiling cheerfully and said: ”The smoke is too heavy, I haven’t seen anything... But I can confirm there’s no one else around. Are you sure you don’t want to chat a bit more?”

Zheng Qing’s mind immediately popped up a phrase - disrespect for the old - he urgently wished the old man opposite could read his mind, so he didn’t implement any mental defenses.

But Old Yao deliberately ignored a certain restless mind, firmly pretending he hadn’t heard that phrase.

”Professor!”

Jiang Yu’s tone carried a hint of reproach, eliciting hearty laughter from Old Yao.

Zheng Qing had reason to believe this treatment was only given to good students and beautiful witches, whereas if Xin Fat Man spoke to Old Yao in this tone, he’d probably be slapped into Antarctica.

”Since you guys don’t plan to chat, get ready for your next class.”

While speaking, the professor flicked his fingers lightly, the smoke swirling around him transformed into a network of intersecting thin lines spreading outwards, seemingly stretching the initially narrow corridor with invisible giant hands, making the whole hallway much more spacious: ”Do you remember Master Bao Yangzi talking about the environmental requirements for Time Conversion?”

”All Time Conversion must be in a ’relatively empty’ and ’secret’ environment.” Jiang Yu recited the sentence almost like a textbook.

Snap!

Old Yao snapped his fingers, immediately halting the expansion of the corridor: ”Very good. If this were my class, I’d have to give you two more points... Hmm, this is your first time going to class on your own, I’m only responsible for supervision and protection, if nothing unexpected happens, then next time, which is the afternoon, you’ll have to be more cautious by yourselves...”

”But Professor,” Zheng Qing glanced around, looking a bit troubled: ”By ourselves? I mean, this space-expanding magic seems a bit difficult...”

The witch beside him nodded slightly to show agreement.

More than a bit difficult, even for a registered wizard, it’s impossible to casually change the layout of the school’s teaching buildings to such an extent.

”Who told you to use this!”

Old Yao raised his eyebrows, looking at Jiang Yu, utterly speechless: ”I’m just because I’m still in class and can’t leave the classroom too far, so I conveniently set you up an appropriate place... When you perform Time Conversion, won’t you find an empty classroom or self-study room yourselves? I can tolerate Zheng Qing’s stupidity, but why are you also getting dumber... Truly, being near a fool makes you foolish.”

If he didn’t know he couldn’t beat him, Zheng Qing very much wanted to take out his Charm Gun and give this old man in front of him a taste of his own medicine.

The witch pursed her lips without speaking.

Perhaps the clumsy performance of the young wizards made people uneasy, Old Yao couldn’t help but nag a few more times: ”I’ll remind you again, when you find an empty classroom, be sure to remember, you’ll be going to the classroom three and a half hours ago, so you must confirm in advance which classroom is empty... If you really can’t find one, you can borrow Liu Fei Fei’s chief self-study room, or any professor’s office.”

Zheng Qing nodded solemnly.

He really hadn’t thought of this point.

Old Yao sighed slightly and switched topics: ”...Did you bring everything?”

Although the question seemed irrelevant, it didn’t hinder Zheng Qing’s understanding of its meaning.

He reached to his waist, took out a dark purple wooden box, opened the lid, and took out a small funnel. Inside the transparent glass ball, the semi-transparent Time Sand floated in mid-air, swirling into a cluster, resembling those enchanting star clusters at night.

Old Yao pinched his pipe and asked: ”Do you know which class you should be heading to?”

”Ancient Magic Arts Study, classroom in the West 202 teaching building.” Zheng Qing had already memorized the course schedule and answered without hesitation.

In comparison, Jiang Yu’s response was more detailed: ”Enock Magic, Middle 403 in the teaching building, Professor Edward Dee’s class, teaching content focused on Professor Dee’s recognized ’Original Enoch’, different from the ’New Enoch’ created by Golden Dawn.”

Zheng Qing blinked.

He didn’t know who Professor Edward Dee was, nor the difference between Original Enoch and New Enoch, moreover, he had no clue about Golden Dawn. But he could clearly feel that Jiang Yu seemed much more likely to complete his graduation credits this semester compared to him.

Old Yao glanced at him with a smile.

”Time is almost up, today you can depart a bit early.”

He gestured for the young wizards to turn the hourglass, while repeatedly reminding them: ”Remember, after reversing, recite the spell on the side of the hourglass to reverse time by three and a half hours... Hmm, wait, since it’s your first time, follow the most standard procedure... Wear the Invisibility Talisman when you should... Don’t worry, I can still see you even with the talisman... Since the situation is special today, when you return to class, be sure to wear the Invisibility Talisman at all times to avoid many troubles... Of course, not wearing it is also fine, but if you intersect with others too much on the past timeline, it might cause unnecessary interference with the future timeline. If I were you, I’d never want to encounter such a hassle... to the other timeline’s you, those troubles belong to pure disasters without cause.”

Zheng Qing took a deep breath, turning the hourglass in his hand upside down, and softly recited the encrypted spell inscribed on the ochre wooden base of the hourglass.

He heard the witch beside him let out a short gasp.

Unable to resist, he turned to look, but he only saw a twisted spiraling shadow quickly disappearing into the air. Before he could look again, he felt a sudden lightness underfoot, as if he had fallen off a staircase, spinning and tumbling somewhere, the surrounding light and shadow chaotic and disjointed, Zheng Qing could only make out spots of light of varying size and weight rolling across his retina before disappearing into darkness.
