High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2412: Chapter 633: An Unimagined Plan

”Are you also planning to graduate early?”

Upon realizing Jiang Yu’s intentions, the headmaster of Jiuyou Academy raised an eyebrow, glanced at another class schedule in his hand, and disapprovingly looked at Zheng Qing, muttering, ”Such a troublesome spirit... Old Yi didn’t even mention that we need a new class monitor next semester.”

Professor Yi, who teaches Divination, often ’chooses’ class monitors for some of the lazier advisors at school, and the results are surprisingly good.

However, this time Zheng Qing thought Old Yao was complaining too early.

After all, Jiang Yu is still likely to continue as the monitor of Astronomy Class 08-1 next semester.

Perhaps realizing his slip of the tongue, Professor Yao coughed, removed the pipe from his mouth, and then looked back at the witch with a kind expression and asked, ”Does Old Lady Jiang know about this?”

”The Elderly Ancestor did not oppose,” Jiang Yu replied very cautiously.

Zheng Qing belatedly realized the difference in identity between Jiang Yu and himself.

As Xiao Xiao once told him, for many young wizards from clans, the First University is more like a social venue rich in resources, an experimental platform for accessing cutting-edge magical knowledge, a place of freedom to escape family restraints. They accumulate experience, make friends, indulge freely, and observe the world here, not just study.

But that’s not the biggest difference.

The real difference between wizards from clans and ordinary wizards lies in their lives being meticulously and thoroughly planned by family elders—from divining life risks to avoiding unknown traps and career advice—to ensure these young wizards make the right choices at key stages of life, unlike ordinary wizards who rely on luck and intuition to decide their future.

This planning continues until they become registered wizards.

Mr. Ji Weng described this phenomenon in ”The Last Aristocrat,” noting that in the eyes of most clan wizards, registered and above-level wizards are the true wizards. Below this level, they’re merely tricksters and wizard apprentices, not recognized by ’real wizards.’

In other words, Jiang Yu’s rash decision to graduate early would likely not gain easy support within the clan. Her reckless act might even bring her other troubles.

Like a young runner on a plastic track carelessly leaving the safety zone, following a black cat into a grove, he might luckily stumble into a Wizard University, accidentally step into a hunter’s trap, or completely lose direction in desolation.

In summary, the likelihood of disastrous outcomes far exceeds that of good outcomes.

The headmaster of Jiuyou Academy clearly understood the subtleties involved, tactfully advising, ”Your situation is different from Zheng Qing’s; you don’t need to graduate this early... That rascal is leaving early because he’s caused so much trouble in school that staying means he’d be beaten... Why are you leaving school so early, to go home and get married?”

”Not that it’s impossible,” the witch whispered softly.

Zheng Qing lowered his eyelids, pretending not to hear.

”Does Su Councilor know about your antics?” The professor, evidently not letting the instigator off, glared at Zheng Qing again, with a hint of threat: ”Don’t make me go to the Greenhill Mansion...”

The young cost student chuckled dryly and replied in a similar quiet tone to the witch, ”Jiang Yu has been staying at the Greenhill Mansion recently... Su... Councilor helped draft this class schedule...”

The headmaster of Jiuyou Academy looked speechlessly at the two young wizards at his desk, unsure of what to say for a long while and finally resorted to stuffing his pipe with tobacco heavily.

And then he lit it.

Puff.

The blue smoke curled into a neat cloud around the professor’s head, avoiding exposing the young wizards to secondhand smoke.

”Let’s discuss your class schedule.”

The professor finally pointed to the two pieces of parchment on the desk and said gruffly, ”I see your plan is to take four classes daily, seven days a week? ...That’s insane... Do you plan to drink Energy Potions like water? And this course... Jiang Yu, what are these fluff courses you’ve chosen! Music, dance, and aristocratic etiquette? Do you need to learn these in school? You could be solidly learning some high-level magic knowledge, but instead, you’re letting some people lead you astray, filling your head with fluff... If word gets out, people won’t think you’re inadequate, but rather that the teaching standards of Jiuyou Academy are poor, ruining good students!”

Old Yao took puffs from his pipe, still carrying a hint of anger in his words. Zheng Qing looked at his head surrounded by blue smoke and couldn’t help but think of the term ’smoke from the seven orifices,’ finding it oddly fitting, and his eyebrows arched unconsciously.

This was outrightly provoking a Legendary Boss.

”And you!”

Old Yao bent his fingers, tapped Zheng Qing’s class schedule twice with an undeniable tone, ”Your course content needs to change as well. Choosing entirely Talisman-related courses is too one-sided...”

”But...” Zheng Qing wanted to say that it was the professor who suggested choosing Talisman-related courses to graduate easily.

But the professor didn’t seem to want to reason with him at this moment.

”’Three Mountain Talisman (Symbol Diagram and Talisman Print)’ and ’Symbol Science’ are repetitive, you can just take Symbol Science; ’Sacrificial Study’ and ’Classical Ritual Science’ mostly overlap, you should take Classical Ritual Science; since you’ve selected ’Laws and Regulations Nine Chapters,’ you don’t need to study ’Inviting gods and impeaching ghosts’ anymore. As for ’Spirit charms and treasure charms,’ the content is too superficial and scattered, switch it to ’Manufacturing and Maintenance of Charm Guns’ which is more useful, at least you can repair your Charm Gun yourself later.”

In a few words, the professor cut three courses from Zheng Qing’s selection and finally looked at the warlock with significant meaning, saying, ”Letting you graduate early is not about letting you muddle through; to borrow the words of a long-dead wizard—we set you on this path not because it is easy, but precisely because it is challenging!”

”Where am I supposed to find other courses... easy for you to say,” the warlock silently wailed inwardly.

”I’ll hold onto both your class schedules for now, and I’ll reconsider them, returning them to you after the evening class meeting tomorrow,” Old Yao said, ignoring the worried expressions of the young wizards, then turned to another matter, ”About your class time, though, meeting daily from early to late... It’s too extreme... Have you considered other more ’healthy’ plans? Like Time Conversion.”

The headmaster offered Zheng Qing a path he had never considered.
