High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2403: Chapter 624: Early Graduation Strategy (Part 1)

The fifth day of the Lunar New Year is February 18 (Thursday).

And February 21 (Sunday) is the day for registration, reporting, and paying tuition for the new semester—which means if Zheng Qing is determined to graduate early, he has less than three days to make further plans.

From applying for early graduation, to credit strategies, to class schedules and daily time management, Zheng Qing had only vaguely heard of these concepts but had never really dealt with them. Now, calming down and thinking carefully about it all made him feel overwhelmed and at a loss.

A headache and dizziness were the only feelings he had after considering this issue.

It was as if he had been thrown from the sky into an endless dense forest. Besides the daytime sun and the starry sky at night providing a general direction, he had no idea where to go next.

For the first time in a while, he pulled out the copy of ”Entering First University” he had bought before entering school in his freshman year’s first semester, and read it earnestly. But aside from a brief mention in some Chapter that ’...students who meet the school’s graduation requirements, upon their own application and school approval, are allowed to graduate early, and their academic status will be incorporated into the current graduating class...’, he found no other details.

The ”First University Campus Management Regulations” didn’t have it either.

Xiao Xiao hadn’t returned to Buji Island yet.

The library wasn’t open to the public yet—though the start of the semester was only a few days away, it hadn’t begun. And in Beta Town, perhaps only the Wandering Bar could provide relevant information, but after Su Shijun had beaten up the bar owner, Zheng Qing didn’t dare to inquire there.

After dinner, Su Shijun had not returned yet.

Zheng Qing dawdled behind Jiang Yu and slipped into her study.

”Is there something you need?”

Seeing the warlock sneakily standing at the doorway, the witch seemed startled, unconsciously clutching the thick hardcover reference book on the desk. But instantly, the force in her fingers relaxed again.

Zheng Qing naturally didn’t see the small gesture behind the desk.

With his hands behind his back, he laughed awkwardly, glancing around the house. His footsteps finally paused at a calendar on the shelf: ”Only three days left until the semester starts!”

The warlock’s tone carried a hint of emotion.

At the moment he saw the calendar, Zheng Qing suddenly felt a bit dazed. He felt he hadn’t had the chance to enjoy his second winter break at university, yet the long five-week holiday had already been consumed.

”Knowing that the semester is about to start, and you’re still standing here wasting time?” A grotesque face struggled to emerge from the calendar, facial features blurred, voice shrill: ”Don’t tell me about ’doing it tomorrow’; don’t you know that ’tomorrow and tomorrow’s tomorrow, all things become delayed’?!”

Woosh!

A white handkerchief flew out from behind the desk, landing on the calendar and covering the grotesque face, blocking its subsequent gibberish.

”A gift from Li Meng before the New Year. Occasionally listening to it perks me up a bit, so I keep it there.” The witch explained dryly about the origin of the bad-tempered calendar.

”Ah? Oh... indeed quite invigorating, quite interesting... quite good.” The warlock waved his hands, responding vaguely, finding it amusing that the usually extremely disciplined witch also needed ’external pressure’ for assistance, and couldn’t help but smile.

Jiang Yu’s cheeks blushed slightly, glaring at him fiercely.

”Why have you come to see me so late!” Her tone immediately turned colder, and the thick hardcover reference book on the desk was clutched tightly again.

Zheng Qing hurriedly restrained his smile.

”I wanted to ask about the arrangements for early graduation.” He admitted his purpose honestly.

”Arrangements?” The witch’s delicate brows furrowed slightly, seeming puzzled: ”Isn’t it just about earning enough credits? As for the more specific details... aren’t you handling that?”

”Me?”

”Yeah, you and I are in the same class, and I’m the monitor. The application forms and other materials for your early graduation should all go through me, right? Just copy-cat when the time comes.”

When she mentioned ’copy-cat,’ the witch’s tone suddenly weakened, perhaps recalling something.

Zheng Qing didn’t catch the slight change. He was shocked by the witch’s hitchhiking plan—he had always been the one taking advantage of others, never expecting a day when someone would draw wool off him.

”Can you really do it like this?” The warlock found it both funny and annoying.

”Time is tight; it’s not enough even for studying... Isn’t this all trouble you brought?” Jiang Yu snorted lightly, yet her face showed no trace of helplessness, appearing perfectly justified.

”But I don’t even know the process...”

”Why do you want to graduate early!”

”Because he also wants to get married sooner.” A sudden voice came from the side, and the two of them turned around, only to find Su Shijun, standing unbeknownst at the bookshelf opposite the orrery, lazily sliding her finger on the surface of Mars.

Noticing the expressions of the two young wizards, she cheerfully waved at Zheng Qing: ”Good evening! I’ve been looking for you for a while... What are you two talking about? Planning something naughty, perhaps!”

As she spoke the last sentence, she also glanced at the other witch in the room.

Jiang Yu’s brows knitted tightly.

”You should knock before entering; it’s basic manners.” She caressed the weighty reference book under her hand, her tone a bit cold: ”Or is it that the Qingqiu Family is fond of eavesdropping on others?”

Zheng Qing finally noticed the threat emanating from that brick-like reference book.

He braced himself, risking hospitalization before the semester starts, and unusually took a step forward, inserting himself between the two witches. First, he turned left to Jiang Yu, earnestly explaining: ”Graduating early isn’t related to marriage; it was Professor Yao who suggested it to me. I thought it made a lot of sense, so I wanted to try.”

Then he turned right to Su Shijun, a bit helpless: ”Please stop making such jokes... We were discussing the early graduation process...”

”Such jokes? Do you mean getting married after graduation, or you two doing something naughty?” The Big Fox chuckled lightly, interrupting the boy’s defense first, then turning to Jiang Yu with a slightly mocking tone: ”As for ’eavesdropping’... That word is too bad... This is Greenhill Mansion, and I am a Big Wizard. Even if I close my eyes and block my ears, the mansion would still report all the big and small things happening here to me.”

”I recall you also graduated early, right?” Zheng Qing looked at Su Shijun, striving to reduce the temperature in the room before sparks turned into fire: ”If we wish to graduate early, what materials would we need to prepare?”
