Chapter 2404: Chapter 625: Early Graduation Strategy (Part 2)

Bang!

A firework blossomed in the night, helping Zheng Qing ease the tense atmosphere in the room.

The warlock turned his head to look out the window, only to see the image of an elder in splendid attire slowly emerging from the blooming fireworks against the pitch-black night sky. He wore a crown, draped in a red robe, with a long white beard on a towering figure. On his head was a golden tree branch laden with jade coins, and he held a round treasure basin filled with gold beans and gemstones. Green dragon-shaped fireworks led the way, while white tiger-shaped fireworks protected the rear, accompanied by golden ingot-shaped and jade ruyi scepter-shaped fireworks on either side.

Just one glance made Zheng Qing keenly aware of how insignificant his monthly income of seven hundred and fifty jade coins seemed.

”They must be welcoming the God of Wealth!”

The warlock suddenly remembered today was the festival date, sighing with a touch of sentimentality—indeed, even wizards share common emotions with the commoners—and then he cautiously withdrew his gaze, his eyes wavering beyond the figures of the two witches, pondering how to continue the conversation earnestly.

At this moment, someone with a keen sense should step in to help transition the conversation, allowing the warlock to continue. But at a glance, neither of the two witches seemed eager to be that perceptive person.

Dong dong.

The head maid knocked on the half-open door, carrying tea, pastries, and fruit plates into the room. Without uttering a word, she properly arranged the refreshments, then quietly bowed and departed.

”After chatting for so long, everyone must be thirsty, right? Have some tea, have some tea.”

The warlock finally seized upon a suitable topic, hastily pouring a small cup of clear tea and holding it up. After hesitating for a few seconds, he handed the cup to Su Shijun.

The Big Fox smilingly accepted the tea, took a sip, and glanced at the other witch.

”Have some fruit, have some fruit.”

Zheng Qing thickened his face, forked a candied hawthorn, ignored the large swaying fox-tail shadows on the wall, and steadily handed the hawthorn to Jiang Yu’s mouth.

The witch lowered her eyelids, bit into the hawthorn, and began to chew unhurriedly.

Then, Zheng Qing picked a cream puff from the pastry plate, popped it into his mouth, mumbling but with a resolute gaze towards Su Shijun: ”What are the requirements to apply for early graduation?”

Since the Upper Senator wasn’t planning to tell him ’what materials are needed to prepare for early graduation,’ he could only change his question. Moreover, he conveyed with his eyes to the witch that he would keep asking.

This time, Su Shijun finally stopped pretending not to hear. She reached out her fair hand, waving it before the boy, and the first finger she folded surprised Zheng Qing.

”Firstly, you need a recommendation letter.”

Su Shijun provided the first requirement for the application: ”With so many students at the school, if every Tom, Dick, and Harry applied for early graduation, the old guys at the School Works Committee and the Professor Joint Meeting would be exhausted... Generally speaking, the higher the rank of the recommender, the greater the chance of approval, but most people can only get a recommendation from a professor they know... If you can get the principal to write a recommendation letter, maybe the school would issue your diploma directly...”

She glanced at the boy with ill-intent.

Zheng Qing lowered his head and honestly poured himself a cup of tea. During the entire festival period, there was no one at the San You Bookstore, and based on experience from over ten years, he no longer expected the teacher to show up again before summer.

Su Shijun seemed slightly disappointed as she folded her second finger: ”Then there’s the academic performance. Including credits and GPA. If it’s Jiuyou Academy, the total credits need to reach two hundred, and the average GPA needs to be above 3.5 to qualify for early graduation applications.”

This requirement did not take Zheng Qing by surprise.

And it was a bit more lenient than he had imagined.

Credits are proof of academic achievement obtained by students after completing a subject. Unlike other schools, First University calculates credits by semester courses, for example, 3 credits for curse studies in the first semester of the first year, 3 credits for curse studies in the second semester; as long as the final exam is passed, the six credits can be obtained, otherwise, no credits are awarded.

As for GPA, it relates to the specific grade of a subject. Simply put, if the final exam score for curse studies is 100, then five GPA points are awarded, 90 would be four GPA points, and so forth. A score of 50 results in zero GPA, but at Jiuyou Academy, any GPA below one is considered failing, and the related course needs to be retaken.

Zheng Qing did a simple calculation.

Up until now, he had been at First University for three full semesters without failing any subject. His lowest grade was 79 in Alchemy in the first semester of the first year, but even so, it met the minimum credit requirement, which means he earned credits in all the subjects he completed, totaling eighty credits over three semesters.

As for GPA, the average GPA was 4.15 for the first semester of the first year, and 4.2 for the second semester, far exceeding the requirement of 3.5 needed for early graduation applications.

Having calculated this, he glanced at Jiang Yu—if his credits and GPA met the requirements, then it was no problem for the witch.

Jiang Yu seemed not to be paying attention to Su Shijun’s words.

She was intently observing a firefly resting on her fingertip. The chubby bug, not knowing where it had climbed from, was extending its slender, curled mouthparts to lick the fruit juice residue on the witch’s fingertip, its nearly transparent belly contracting and expanding with the mouthparts, emitting a faint jujube red glow.

The warlock heard a soft hum in his ear.

The Upper Senator of the Moon Council seemed to have lost patience, quickly listing the remaining requirements: ”...The third rule, no failed courses; the fourth rule, a minimum of two years of study; the fifth rule, no ongoing school punishments for the applicant.”

Thus, five fingers closed into a fair fist.

Zheng Qing had a strong feeling that the next second, that fist was going to smash into his nose.

”I still have a school probation!”

He almost shouted this out, startling both witches; Jiang Yu’s attention moved from the firefly on her fingertip, and Su Shijun’s fist hesitated, not coming forward.

Zheng Qing quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

”Your school probation should have expired at the end of last semester and was automatically revoked, so it won’t affect your early graduation application.”

As the monitor of Astronomy Class 08-1, Jiang Yu was evidently more aware of the situation than others present, comforting the warlock, but with a turn of phrase, she sternly warned:

”...However, given your history, there’s still a high chance of receiving school punishment next semester... If you accidentally blow up a school building or injure a classmate, then there’s no hope for early graduation.”
