High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2405: Chapter 626: Basic Procedures

Early Sixth, Friday.

Rainwater solar term.

Two days until school starts.

As usual, the school used the corresponding meteorological orb during the appropriate solar term. Early in the morning, a drizzling rain began to fall from the sky, the raindrops cold and dense, landing on the windows as if they were a swarm of feeding silkworms, creating a rustling white noise.

It made one drowsy just listening to it.

Zheng Qing suspected that Poseidon, who was doing arithmetic in the study next door, was napping because she hadn’t deliberately made any noise to show she was focused on studying for quite a while.

That day, Zheng Qing did not continue to study the ”Qingqiu Secret Law” and the ”Detailed Explanation of Talisman Construction,” and Jiang Yu did not hide in the study to preview the courses she had not yet taken.

After breakfast, the two of them, under Su Shijun’s guidance, began filling out various application forms related to early graduation, calculating their credits, and preparing for Sunday’s course selection.

”... For truly outstanding students of the First University, early graduation is not a new term.”

Su Shijun leaned on the sofa, holding Jiang Yu’s fluffy bear in her arms, and with a book titled ”On the Spell Tension of Non-dimensional” in her hands, her voice sounded a bit lazy amidst the rustling rain outside the window:

”Just like Doctor Duzem, whom you all know, also graduated from school in their sophomore year... Not only did the school not let him go, they even built him a brand-new laboratory... Korma in the North District, as well as Zhang Huaigu, your Fu Lu Class teacher, both completed their Registered Wizard advancement ceremony by their junior year... It’s just that Korma was a bit luckier and found another way to advance to Big Wizard after becoming a Registered Wizard, while Zhang Huaigu was relatively unlucky, staying on as an instructor and not yet accumulating enough resources to become a High-level Registered Wizard...”

”Becoming a Registered Wizard doesn’t count as graduation?” Zheng Qing, who was filling out application forms, couldn’t help but look up at the witch on the sofa upon hearing this.

”That’s what you’re doing now.”

A fluffy bear head poked out from behind the sofa, shaking slightly as if indicating she was looking at him while talking: ”Graduates of the First University are Registered Wizards, but Registered Wizards haven’t necessarily graduated. The difference between the two lies in the procedure... Becoming a Registered Wizard means you can apply for early graduation at any time, but even if you are not a Registered Wizard, you can still apply for early graduation as long as you meet all the assessments and requirements set by the school.”

These words were a bit convoluted but not difficult to understand.

Except when the witch spoke, most of the warlock’s attention was drawn to that plush bear.

Though similarly played with, Zheng Qing noticed the plush bear looked blissful at the moment, completely unlike the lifeless look it had when in Li Meng’s hands.

He couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

”Have you finished filling out your ’Qualification Review Form’?”

Jiang Yu interrupted the warlock’s distraction by speaking up, pointing her finger at a spot on Zheng Qing’s application form, asking: ”Here... what did you write for the highest education level?”

Her slender, pale finger fell in the middle of the Qualification Review Form, her pink nail polished neatly and smoothly, devoid of any edges, making it hard not to take a few more glances.

Perhaps aware of the pressure in the warlock’s gaze, the witch’s fingertip retracted slightly.

Zheng Qing finally came back to his senses.

”High school, Pingyang Middle School, 2005-2008.” The warlock cleared his throat, quickly moving his gaze to the parchment. However, he felt his answer might not help Jiang Yu much, who grew up in the Wizard World.

”High school... does it mean advanced middle school?” The witch murmured, a rare troubled expression appearing on her face: ”What should I do if I haven’t attended advanced middle school? I started at the family clan school from the beginning, and my family never issued me a graduation certificate...”

Ah, this blissful pretentiousness!

Zheng Qing immediately recalled the scene when he first met Thomas.

”It doesn’t matter, just write ’Zhongshan Jiang Family School’,” he grabbed a sour plum from the fruit tray next to him and popped it into his mouth, confidently answering, ”As long as the application form clarifies our identity. I think rather than worrying about whether you’ve attended high school, it’s more convincing to write down your college entrance exam scores... I remember you scored 475 points right?”

”Just a tad worse than you.” The witch puffed her cheeks in slight dissatisfaction.

”That’s pretty high, the total score is only 500.” Zheng Qing grinned, perhaps worried the witch might think he was flaunting his advantage, he coughed lightly and immediately changed the subject: ”Who are you planning to ask for a recommendation letter?”

”Well... how about Professor Yao? After all, I served as the class monitor for him for two years, didn’t get any credit rewards, there should be some other compensation... what about you?”

”Me?”

Zheng Qing hesitated for a few seconds. Initially, he also planned to find Old Yao—currently, Old Yao was the closest and highest tier wizard with whom he had a relatively good relationship, considering the other legendary Big Mouse he knew still didn’t know where it was hiding.

But since Jiang Yu had already chosen Old Yao, he was a bit hesitant in case both choosing the same recommender might affect the qualification review.

”His recommender is me.” Su Shijun’s pleasant voice rang out nearby, startling the young warlock and witch engrossed in conversation.

Turning around, Zheng Qing then noticed that the Upper House Member of the Moon Council had somehow appeared beside the desk, holding the plush bear and looking at him with an aggrieved expression.

”Having a great chat, huh?”

She stared at Zheng Qing, twisting the bear’s ear several times before turning to Jiang Yu, speaking politely yet firmly: ”I’ve already written his recommendation letter... Have you completed all your application materials?”

Jiang Yu pursed her lips without speaking, laying out the stack of materials under her hand one by one—”Application Form for Early Graduation of In-school Students of the First University’s Jiuyou College,” ”Early Graduation Plan,” ”Course Arrangement Plan Application Form,” ”Qualification Review Form,” ”Transcript of Previous Years,” and an application letter to the School Works Committee requesting proof of no ongoing sanctions.

”Well, that should be enough.”

Su Shijun nodded slightly: ”Graduation thesis, ’Thesis Defense Application Form,’ graduation practice, these items can wait until after the final exams. I think it won’t be a big problem for you two to pass the qualification review. The most urgent thing now is to calculate your credits clearly, so you’ll know how many more courses you need to take and how much more you need to pay.”

”How much more to pay?” Zheng Qing first learned that early graduation costs extra money.

”Additional courses needed for early graduation do not enjoy current scholarship discounts,” the Big Fox raised a forefinger, waving it in front of the warlock’s eyes: ”I remember you both are scholarship students... It’s not much, at most twenty jade coins, which is nothing to you two.”
