High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2436: Chapter 657: Li Meng’s Report

7:53 in the morning.

That is to say, there are still thirty-seven minutes until the first class starts.

Zheng Qing closed his pocket watch, leaned against the corridor, sitting quietly. After quickly calculating the time in his heart, he quietly let out a small sigh of relief—thank goodness, thank goodness, though the process was uncomfortable, at least he didn’t travel to the wrong time.

Time conversion only changes the time, not the location.

So his current location was still in the corridor outside room 601 on the east of the teaching building, not far from the corner. Only it was the corridor from three and a half hours ago. Now, he only needed to follow this corridor to the end, then go down four floors, and he would see the classroom for Ancient Magic Arts Study.

Two witches from Astronomy Class 08-1 appeared at the corner, one holding the ”Beta Town Post,” the other one holding the ”School Newspaper,” whispering to each other as they briskly walked past the warlock.

”Can’t believe someone is already in the classroom this early!”

Zheng Qing muttered in his heart, gently touching the invisibility talisman hanging from his waist that was still faintly warm, and carefully pulled back his legs to make room for the passing witches—a fierce session of time traveling had just left his legs weak and almost immobile, probably needing at least three to five minutes of rest before he could get up.

This is the difference between a weak wizard and a strong wizard.

He sighed internally.

When the master first fiddled with the hands on the pocket watch, he could clearly feel the process of images reversing; by the time Master Baoyangzi twisted his pocket watch, Zheng Qing only felt dizzy, the scenes experienced were fuzzy, yet vaguely distinguishable; and then when he flipped the hourglass himself, he felt like he was tumbling down a staircase, unable to see anything except for various sizes of light spots before his eyes.

It’s important for one to have self-awareness.

The young wizard rubbed his calves, which were gradually regaining feeling, trying to stand by holding onto the wall, and stumbled forward a few steps. The clear sound of footsteps seemed somewhat abrupt in the empty corridor.

Zheng Qing quickly stopped in his tracks, looking up at the portraits hanging on the walls on both sides, only to find most of the portraits were missing from their frames, and the few remaining figures were sleeping soundly with their eyes covered and ears blocked.

Creak, creak.

A peculiar sound drew the warlock’s attention away from the portraits.

On the empty white wall opposite him, a floating red chalk suddenly appeared, writing swiftly, leaving a hasty message—The portraits don’t start work until 8 o’clock. I’m leaving!

Quickly, the handwriting was erased again.

Zheng Qing blinked, couldn’t help but laugh, reaching into his pocket, only to remember he hadn’t brought any chalk. Seeing no one around, he boldly responded aloud:

”I’m leaving!”

The cheerful voice echoed particularly loudly in the empty corridor.

Whoosh.

The door to Astronomy Class 08-1 opened, and Li Meng poked out her little head, glancing around with a puzzled look: ”Strange, why is no one here... Li Neng, did you also hear that jerk’s voice?”

Below her, a plush bear peeked out half of its body, shaking its head vigorously.

”Hmm, I must have heard wrong.” The little witch muttered, quickly retracting back, leaving the plush bear to give a thumbs-up to the empty corridor.

The culprit had already fled long ago, tiptoeing away under the cover of the invisibility talisman.

...

...

Original timeline.

Phew—

A thick puff of green smoke billowed out.

Old Yao stood there, biting on his pipe, gazing through the layers of smoke at some distant image, shaking his head involuntarily: ”This is just the first time... really, really...”

He ’really’ mulled for a while, eventually couldn’t think of a fitting word, just swaying his head as he returned to the classroom.

In the classroom, most students had finished their curse practice, returning to their seats in small groups. A few pairs who hadn’t completed the task were mostly unable to cast the ’Enchantment Spell’ on their partners.

This was an irresistible factor, and could be tolerated.

The professor contemplated for a moment, glanced at the time, then slowly walked to the podium, preparing to conclude today’s curse course.

Then he noticed a plush bear sitting at Jiang Yu’s seat, flipping through the textbook in front of it noisily. Remembering the scene he had just observed, the professor greeted it with a smile, startling the plush bear into sliding off the seat and hastily stuffing itself back into Li Meng’s backpack, even pulling up the zipper tight from inside.

The professor blinked, rubbing his chin, feeling he didn’t look that intimidating.

”Old Yao!”

The owner of the plush bear raised her arm and stood up, leaned over the desk toward the podium. With her cousin not around, she seemed a bit more reckless: ”Where’s my cousin?”

”Went to a class.” Old Yao replied cheerfully while stuffing tobacco into his pipe.

”Oh!” The little witch revealed a ’just as I thought’ expression, blinked, and lowered her voice slightly: ”Can I report something to you? Secretly!”

She looked serious.

Old Yao put the pipe back into his mouth, slightly raised an eyebrow, raised his hand to erect a small sound insulation barrier, showing a hint of interest: ”What is it?”

”Zheng Zha... ahem!”

At this point, Li Meng cleared her throat, subtly changed her wording: ”I mean, if a student at our academy is morally corrupt, despicable, shameless... how would the school handle him?”

Old Yao lit the pipe, took a deep puff.

Phew—

He looked at the little witch through the smoke, with a smile yet with a trace of anger in his tone: ”These words are quite harsh, does Jiuyou Academy have such students? Well, tell me first how is he shameless and morally corrupt?”

”He messes around with relationships, two-timing, no, three-timing!” Li Meng looked furious: ”I thought they were just rumors, but a few days ago I heard Su Ya... I mean, I have a source who can testify that he got someone else pregnant and is still trying to hit on other girls in our academy! Shouldn’t someone like this be seriously dealt with by the school?”

”Absolutely, absolutely.” The elder wizard nodded repeatedly, appearing to agree wholeheartedly: ”Not only should his scholarship be revoked, but he should also be removed from the ’Magic Wand’ list, and the Academy should suggest to the Alliance to confiscate his Merlin Medal!”

Li Meng immediately showed a satisfied smile.

Only she barely held the smile for a few seconds before realizing: ”I didn’t say...”

”Did you ask the opinions of those witches?” Old Yao changed the topic calmly, interrupting the little witch’s thoughts, reminding her: ”While your report is valuable, without the victims, it’s difficult for the academy to randomly deal with a student, right... So, can you persuade the witches you know to testify?”

The smile on Li Meng’s face immediately froze.

”You can consult with them first, then write a formal complaint report, and I will prioritize handling it.” The professor patiently offered a specific operational plan, then dispersed the sound insulation barrier, smiling as he addressed the other students in class: ”That’s it for today’s class... Dismissed!”
