COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

’There is a confirmed love partner. Unfortunately, it was my Hikigaya-senpai. But President Sakayanagi seems to be unrequited love. But even if it’s that, cannot be treated lightly. Because my true love is a difficult person or someone who is easy to deal with. It seems that he doesn’t believe in things like love, more in that can be seen and touched. So, even though I tried very hard, other party did not show any intention to marry me. Because Hikigaya-senpai not only has a good relationship with me, but also has a good relationship with stupid seniors like Kushida.....I tried to follow her several times but found that she and Hikigaya-senpai were dating in shopping district. In other words, he can completely accept someone like Kushida...senpai. After all, his criteria for choosing a partner is just that he wants to be a househusband, and the partner can support him, they just need to have a decent life. If Hikigaya-senpai didn’t have that many points and couldn’t exchange them for much cash, he probably wouldn’t have chosen Kushida-senpai. But in reality, he only has that many points....which can be burned easily if lifestyle is exotic.’

So even though Ichika worked very hard to improve his quality of life, when choosing a restaurant for tasting food, she deliberately chose one with high prices, hoping to keep him spoiled and have higher quality of life demands in the future which cannot be fulfilled by someone like Kushida-senpai.

However, even if he chose the not-so-good senior Kushida, he can still live a good life.

Because he got a lot of points from this school.

This is a school where strength is paramount, and being able to gain money here is a manifestation of strength.

This makes him look very good, but it’s also a pity.

After realizing that Hikigaya-senpai wasn’t on patrol alone with Sakayanagi-san, Ichika prepared to leave.

Because...President Sakayanagi is a more suitable marriage partner for Hikigaya-senpai than she is.

Unlike Kushida-senpai, she gives the impression that she will become dangerous once girl breaks through something.

As for others, they shouldn’t pose much of a threat.

So, Ichika decided to work hard!

Other side.

Hachiman and Asahina came to the chairman’s office together.

“It’s a rare occasion for a member of student council to come visit me.” The chairman, who is worthy of being Sakayanagi’s father, said something similar like his daughter.

“But I’m not rejecting you. As chairman of board, I also hope to communicate with students. After all, this will provide better feedback on whether our school is doing its job well.”

In other words, Chairman Sakayanagi is impartial in his work.

“Chairman.”

“Can I ask for information about the guests of cultural festival? To be precise, will you invite students to enter?”

“Students?” The chairman pushed his glasses, and focused on this orange haired-girl.

Hikigaya-kun added in her words, “Specifically, will you invite people who dropped out of our school to come in?”

Chairman Sakayanagi understood.

’The person next to Hikigaya-kun is a 3rd-year student this year. She is Asahina Nazuna, who was promoted from Class B and is Nagumo-kun’s childhood sweetheart. And before that, she was the one who came to entrust exchange of points and then sent cash back to Nagumo-kun. Here it comes again. In other words, she is worried that he will come back and cause trouble....’

“If you’re talking about Nagumo-kun. I personally recognize his individual ability, but unfortunately, our school also has to consider risks and system that puts strength first. So his withdrawal is a fixed matter. After all, we can’t abandon an entire class just for him. Besides Nagumo-kun is also controversial. Some of the guests invited to cultural festival are quite important people. So, we don’t want to cause any disputes.”

That means Nagumo will not be invited back.

After hearing what Chairman said, Asahina-san breathed a sigh of relief.

Then he looked at Hikigaya-kun.

He didn’t think that boy would directly accompany other girls to come to him. ’Since you really want to ask about the list, can just ask little Arisu. She had just sent me a text message asking about this....’

“Well then.” The chairman looked at another person who came here,“Hikigaya-kun, what have you applied for this time?”

“I want to ask if I can buy guest list... To be more precise, if I am not allowed to see list, can I pay points and buy one or two invitations?”

Chairman Sakayanagi smiled.

’It turns out that this Hikigaya-kun... never plays by rules. This school believes in strength above all else, many rules and exam rewards are related to points, so it can also be understood that points are paramount. Well, in principle, as long as you have enough points, you can buy anything.’

Chairman Sakayanagi again looked deeply at Hikigaya-kun from behind his glasses.

“Do you have anyone you want to invite in?”

“.....” Hachiman. “Well, I kind of want to invite my sister to come in on the day of cultural festival.”

’Um. If you want to see your sister, you can pay points and leave school temporarily. Although the points are expensive, you can afford it, Hikigaya-kun....!’ Although Chairman thought so, as an elder, he already understood that Hikigaya wanted to invite people related to him in, probably hoping to show them his current achievements.

“About inviting people from other schools in. You can buy this permission by using points. However, unfortunately, this cannot be done because someone has already bought out this quota in advance and submitted points. This person, you should all know him.”

’Both....? The one who can invite foreign aid in advance...Nagumo? Probably not. If it was him, would have probably rushed over immediately after his points were converted into cash. Then person could only be...’

An image of a serious, yet very serious and reliable man emerged in Hachiman’s mind.

Then he recalled the time when other party left school and asked him if he wanted to earn another 1 million points.

However, when other party graduated, did not exchange much cash.

He did not seem like someone who would write a bad check. In other words, once had 1 million, but spent it when he was leaving.

So idea should be to come back as a foreign aid when necessary.

“Is that so? Then there is no solution.” Hachiman sighed inside his heart, but didn’t show it on face.

But Chairman Sakayanagi went on to say, “This time invitation list was selected in a fair manner. One part is to invite people from the government, one part is to invite some investors who support government’s work, and another part is to invite students’ families. The invitation list is fair. So, I don’t think you need to fight for this opportunity to play.”

In other words, it is not necessary.

Then, Hikigaya-kun and Asahina-san left Chairman’s office together.

“Just now……”

What Asahina wanted to confirm was whether Nagumo would come, but the reply she got now was that he could not come in.

Then she felt a little relieved.

On the one hand, she rejected Nagumo’s last chance to save himself, and on the other hand... as Nagumo’s childhood sweetheart, she already had a junior named Hikigaya, and it would seem strange to contact Nagumo again.

She is also a 3rd-year student, and if doesn’t work harder, she will graduate and leave.

But if Nagumo comes in and causes trouble during this cultural festival, it will bring trouble to them.

So, Asahina wanted to avoid it.

Thinking about how hard she will have to work...

“Um....” She looked at the person beside her.

Today’s junior is wearing purple glasses frames.

She had also seen him without glasses by chance, but it was undeniable that he looked rational and capable with it on. ’However, he wears glasses with frames in so many colors. There are black, purple and green ones. If he wants to collect all seven colors, then maybe I can get extra points by actively giving him others?’

When the words came to her lips, she said, “Regarding this cultural festival, many students will probably go to visit and participate in projects of other classes. So, if you’re free then... well, if you’re free, how about going for a walk together?”

Originally, she thought it would be easy to say, but when she actually said it, Asahina found herself a little nervous.

But, finally got the words out, so what Hikigaya-kun will say in response...

“I’m probably busy.” However, this sweet crush Kouhai of hers declined her offer directly, “Because I should be busy that day, or even performing.”

Is that so?
