COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

“Katsuragi, what’s the meaning of your behaviour?!”

Machida screeched violently and struggled with blue veins popping on his forehead, this side character was mentally tortured and brainwashed by Takuro Morishige to speak up for his people against main characters, and have more power.

Suddenly his name was called, and Katsuragi Kohei, who was sitting in his seat, nodded, “I did vote in favor. Because I think the chances of getting 400 points are slim, it would be a shame to give up here.”

“Fuck you, Katsuragi!”

Katsuragi Kohei, who was originally thought to be most cautious, turned out to be most radical.

When Princess Sakayanagi chose not to sacrifice students in exchange for points, Katsuragi chose points.

“Bastard, are you dissatisfied with Totsuka who dropped out of class in last year’s withdrawal exam?” Even Morishige came out to give support, when he felt gazes of his kind looking at him sheepishly to voice his opinion.

Just by disrespect he gave, you can realise how much power and say Takuro Morishige holds in class now, “And now you are seizing this opportunity to seek revenge.”

In fact, his current language is a bit extreme, and may even be deliberately misinterpreting Katsuragi’s meaning.

400 points in exchange for a classmate is definitely valuable as long as you are not one who drops out.

This way, Class A can be more secure.

“I support Morishige in this, please tell us Katsuragi. Are you going against Princess like before?”

Of course, more importantly, in order to seek his own stability, even Hashimoto took the initiative to find Hikigaya-kun and prepare to treat him to a meal.

But other party did not accept it.

This made him uneasy.

As Sakayanagi’s subordinate, Hashimoto has personally experienced that Her Highness, Little Princess should be interested in Hikigaya-kun.

So he was worried that something might go wrong, so he wanted to go to Hikigaya’s line, hoping that other party could help him out.

In the end, Hikigaya-kun rejected him.

However, still accepted the 50,000 yen he transferred as a treat and did not return it.

So Hashimoto felt that he was still safe for the time being.

“.....”

But now that we know that Princess Sakayanagi’s option is to oppose sacrifice of her classmates, it is natural for him to be opponent’s enemy and start to behave like a dog biting a human.

He even gave public support to Takuro Morishige.

Moreover, probably many people in class are now his fans, this guy is very growing in terms of power.

Because Morishige is standing up now to give advice to many people who are worried about being abandoned by Princess Sakayanagi.

“I’m just being realistic.” However, Katsuragi seemed very calm, as if to used to being insulted by this guy with spectacles, “I just think 400-point opportunity is very important. And at worst, whole class will have points to keep it for him. This way we also have a chance to get 350 points. It’s like 20 million for 350.”

In fact, it is consistent with his approach.

Katsuragi’s strategy of playing it safe could be to try to ensure that points are not deducted and to maintain the advantage.

Then it would also be necessary to seize opportunity to widen gap with other classes.

“This time, exam is a unified exam for four classes. But it also gives every class oportunity to potentially get 400 points. So if we don’t score here, but other classes get points, then our situation will become unstable.”

Obviously.

In response to Morishige, Machida, and Hashimoto’s recent act of throwing dirty water, Katsuragi justified himself with his own analysis.

It’s like of people with same attributes now sticking together.

We are snake brothers, not afraid of bushing, scissoring around at all!

Indeed, Katsuragi was also very unhappy about Yahiko being expelled from school.

In front of class, he would choose the class and erase his own emotions.

So what he is raising now is what those in a higher position need to think about and decide, “Sakayanagi, what do you think?”

“.....” Sakayanagi looked at this boy whose name Morishige she was forced to remember, because this guy is very irritating with high support from classmates behind, now openly talks shit and dirtying the atmosphere.

What does Sakayanagi think?

If she listens to Katsuragi, she will be abandoning a student.

Ever since exam rules came out yesterday, Princess has been planning for possible questions related to dropping out of school, and even made the decision... to abandon people who have no value.

“So to speak, Katsuragi, now you are just bringing up something that is not relevant. Didn’t you see girl just voted against in 2nd round of voting? Do you want my people to drop out of school? How dare!”

Morishige now didn’t even care to give respect or titles to Sakayanagi, directly used ‘Girl’ because she too is a classmate.

“T-That’s right, K-Katsuragi-kun. So it’s better to shut your mouth and sit down like a good boy!” A girl named Makugo also opened her eyes for the 1st time in class, it’s just her words quite offending with a tremble which is very fake.

???

However, Sakayanagi is looking at another person, who has been trying to show her affection to Kamuro-san.

“What do you think, Morishita-san?”

....ah?

Morishita probably didn’t expect Sakayanagi to ask her, and although she was a little surprised, still seized the opportunity.

“If I have to jump to a conclusion, I would say I am against it. But if I think about it calmly, I think getting a class evaluation score of 400 is also quite important. After all, Ryuen Kakeru’s class got over 500 points in one go. If they can get 400 now, which is very possible for those people to be shameless.”

Then Ryuen’s score would go from 825 to 1225 points.

This progress of scoring is scary.

“In other words, do you think we should get 400 points even if it means your classmates will be expelled?” Sakayanagi looked over with her big eyes, as if trying to understand this girl’s inner thoughts.

In fact, Morishita couldn’t be sure of Sakayanagi’s true intentions.

But yesterday, Sakayanagi said that if there was an exam for expulsion, she would be prepared to eliminate those who were worthless.

So all you have to do is follow Princess Sakayanagi’s wishes.

That’s why Morishita continued being aloof and cold, “No... I won’t say that. I just wonder if it’s really okay to let go of this 400-point opportunity.”

In this way, Morishita just wasted everyone’s time, and didn’t say anything meaningful in the end.

Because the one who actually made the decision was Sakayanagi, “If this is campus life where competition has reached its final stage, I will also be forced to give up my classmates. However, our class is currently far ahead. It would be ridiculous to expel a student just to get a 300-point class evaluation score.”

We are talking about 300 points here, because even if you choose not to drop out, you can still get 100 as a reward from school for answering the questions within specified time.

100 points is definitely achievable.

Then maximum you can get is 300 extra points.

“Of course, I also recognize the importance of 300 points, and don’t want to regret it in the future.” Sakayanagi’s voice was quite clear, it’s just people didn’t know what this girl is thinking inside her brain, making her a very scary person, “And the reduction in number of people is also a disadvantage. Even if you think about it simply, total amount of personal points that can be obtained each month will decrease, which will also make class morale low and cause distrust. If you want to use a more interesting method, you can deliberately select dropouts and then raise 20 million personal points to help. According to the rules, you will get 250 points. And private points that our class just received for uninhabited island exam are 13.5 million. Compared to 20 million that would have waived expulsion penalty, each person would have to pay 166,600.....”

In other words, everyone invests all points earned in the past two months, and then pays for one month’s living expenses, and can get 250 points.

It doesn’t look like a big loss.

“Similarly, points obtained will be distributed by school as living expenses in the future. 250 points will be worth 17.5 million by the time we graduate. It doesn’t look like we have much to lose. Although there is a way to gain class evaluation points without any sacrifices, once class’s point reserve is depleted, it will affect future exams.” Sakayanagi concluded her thoughts, too much detail it makes people’s brain crash.

Another advantage of being a student in Class A is that you have more financial reserves than other classes.

So now is time to consider risks. Whether to spend existing capital reserves here.

There is also another option.

That is, Sakayanagi now has a protection quota for expulsion. If removed, class can still get 250 points.

Then you can even give all 250 points to Sakayanagi-san as reward.

But... no one would make such a suggestion.

Unless you feel that you didn’t drop out of school fast enough.

“So, what should we choose next? Since reserve points of class are not safe, then only option is to kick people to get points.”

It’s really brutal, Morishita-san.

In other words, this girl is even more ruthless than Katsuragi, directly chooses to have someone drop out of school and then takes points.

These random people behind Takuro looked at Morishita with ugly expression on their faces.

“Morishita-san, you are too radical.” As the most radical leader, even Sakayanagi sighed heavily outside, “And you didn’t understand question either. Getting points is one way. It can make class’s position more secure..But do we need to sacrifice students to do this? I said yesterday that when there is a withdrawal exam, those who are useless to class will be kicked out if necessary. But it’s a pity, like my classmates and now-missing Totsuka-san, I will not abandon my companions who are willing to act for me. So if I have a choice, I won’t give up on you. Because I think any one of you is worth more than this 200-point class evaluation score.”

oh oh! Oh!

It was first time that students around her heard Sakayanagi even say such a good thing.

Seems that people’s uneasy heart has calmed down.

“As for what K-Katsuragi-kun is worried about, Ryuen-kun’s class will take off with this exam. Did it take off in past year? And now they are flying, I think you should know the reason. So compared to gains and losses of these current scores, I am focusing on how far Hikigaya-kun can go after joining Ryuen-kun’s class. Because there is only one plan that can truly make Class A safe, right? Prepare 20 million. In 3rd year, at the latest in 2nd semester, buy Hikigaya-kun over here.”

Please, don’t stop!

“And faced with this kind of exam, Horikita-san’s class would probably be at a loss. Koenji-kun has a title of expulsion protection from uninhabited island exam. Once he is sacrificed, he will not be able to stay in the original class. And Kito-kun also reported that he saw Chairman’s agent find Koenji-kun privately. So it’s very likely that he has paid funds so that he can finally graduate in A. But he didn’t change classes right away. Maybe it would be safest to do so when he was about to graduate. If we show him that our class will definitely graduate from A, he might come early. So, I think our funds should be spent wisely.”

I see. Everyone suddenly understood.

Compared to watching one or two exams individually, it is indeed safer to turn the guy who can score points and...look dangerous from an enemy into a teammate.

Sakayanagi said this and looked around her class. She is representative.

This girl is also student council president of this school.

Standing at top of students.

Even Katsuragi-kun was able to stay in student council only because of Sakayanagi’s approval.

So, in this case. There was no objection at all.

Not even Katsuragi.

Because this structure is indeed what Class A should have, and it is even excellent.

If Hikigaya-kun, who can threaten Class A, and the monster-like Koenji were really brought in, then probability of graduating from Class A would be almost 99%.

During 10-minute discussion, the students in Class A had already prepared themselves mentally.

Third round of voting.

There were 0 classmates who were in favor of dropping out of school, and 39 classmates who were against.

“Since everyone agrees, congratulations on passing test.”

“You can get 100 points for class evaluation.”

Throughout whole process, this responsible teacher just listened in, leaving time and space for students to perform.
