COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

“...This time, exam is very simple in terms of its content and rules.” Even though Suzune’s eyes were complicated when he used her words, she still explained honestly, “But I think important thing is to make choices. Also, once everyone makes a unanimous decision, school will implement it, so too quickly may lead to some hidden dangers. So I made a deal with Kushida-san. We don’t know the test questions yet, but in order to prevent whole class from getting a bad result, once the test questions come out, she will choose first option and I will choose second option.”

“• •”

“This ensures that exam questions will proceed to discussion.” Suzune has grown up both in terms of flesh and brain, “I don’t know what happened, but Kushida-san has become very cooperative over the months. I think we are “Friends” you wanted to make after coming to this school.”

She gave him a smug expression.

Hachiman’s lips twitched after this kind of dilemma, felt like he needed to teach her a new lesson, “Well, have you ever thought about making some money from this exam?”

“Is it profitable...” Suzune put the book down completely, her previous proud look evaporated.

Because she still has a big task of 16 million assigned by Hikigaya-kun. Her current savings is only 3.6 million.

There is still a long way to go.

“Of course you can. If you want to earn points, start from the school’s rules, from exam rewards, or even from the scarcity of others.”

I see....After Suzune thought about it, she immediately understood what Hikigaya meant by making a fortune.

For this uncertain exam, there was a certain class that wanted to get through it safely.

Even the few points she had might come in handy.

Because it was a special exam that was unanimous among everyone, students only had to participate and answer the questions, and they were not allowed to use any means of coercion, so everyone basically had not made much preparation.

The exam time is from 10:00 to 13:00.

Hachiman was ready to go out at eight o’clock, first to eat, then to return a book to the library, and then to borrow another one.

Then time is about right.

However, just as he was about to open door in the morning, he was standing in porch when he noticed someone standing at his door.

She stood there obediently, raised her left hand as if wanted to knock on the door, but then put it down again.

Then no one left, and situation remained deadlocked.

She wanted to knock on door, but restrained myself.

“Click, click——” Hikigaya-kun chose to open the door.

“If you want to come in, just use the room card.” He said to the cute girl with golden-pink hair standing at his door with a red tinge on her cheeks.

“Good morning, Honami.”

......!

“L-Likewise, g-good morning, H-Hach... Hikigaya-kun!”

’He caught me off-guard, I can’t maintain my composure at all!’

This is the recognized archangel in school, Ichinose Honami, and also his possible engagement partner.

Because Ichinose often comes to help clean and do other things within her ability, Hachiman gave her the card of his room.

But she didn’t use it this time.

Maybe something happened.

“Woo——” Ichinose also seemed very hesitant.

“If you continue to stay here, other students will see you.” Hikigaya-kun said emotionlessly, not even showing anything after saying her name, if to deliberately break her absent mind.

“Mmmmm… I, I understand.” Then, Ichinose walked in like a squirrel with fast legs, as if afraid.

She was already wearing her shirt and uniform.

The shirt is white, but perhaps because of her good figure, it is hard to take your eyes off her.

Of course, Hikigaya-kun is not that kind of person. He invited Ichinose in.

“Are you worried about something For example, whole class will take a special exam in two hours. Like, you might have to drop out of school and don’t know what to do?”

“….” Ichinose’s heart was shaken even more, “Hikigaya-kun is amazing. He knows everything, just like a real esper!”

No.

Because you are such an easy person to identify, because you are an archangel, don’t want anyone to get hurt, you don’t want anyone to drop out of school, but you want to take the responsibility yourself and won’t tell others about your hard work.

You are that type of person.

’Hikigaya-kun is so amazing!’ She is also updating her evaluation of fiance in her mind.

“If option of dropping out really arises. What would you do?”

“The correct plan should be to collect 20 million points.” Ichinose said honestly, a little depressed. “But our class only has 13.234 million points now. Then we borrowed 3.6 million from Horikita-san. But in the end, we are still short of more than 3 million.”

Is that so? The total also has a decimal point.

The whole class should have been emptied of money. Even living expenses were raised.

As expected, this is Ichinose’s class.

“That means we are still short of nearly 6 million. So you are here to borrow money?”

“Mochi…Mochi! That’s not the case!” Ichinose said quickly to deny her greedy motives, “I’ve thought of other ways.”

Boys don’t be fooled!

“Another way?” Hachiman thought of something, touching his chin for a moment, “Are you prepared to sacrifice yourself? For example, place in Class A that I bought for you earlier. That should be enough to offset the expulsion penalty.”

“That’s definitely not what I meant.” Ichinose shook her head quickly, as if to prevent Hikigaya-kun from misunderstanding, “That’s different. It was a private agreement between Hikigaya-kun and me.”

Is that so? Hachiman was really worried for just a second.

But he was in a good mood now. After all, although he admired Ichinose’s character, would be angry if his efforts were used by the other party like this.

“Actually, we have a plan. If we can’t borrow the money, we will give the 16 million points to student who dropped out. We will draw the lots fairly. Then, selected student will drop out, but 16 million will be given to students as compensation.”

Instead of simply spending 20 million to ensure there is no shortage of people, Ichinose’s class is now able to compensate the students.

So girl came to see Hachiman, actually to ask him for a favor.

If a student in her class was expelled... then hoped that he would use his authority to exchange points for cash.

It can be considered progress.

After all, they are not Horikita Manabu and cannot be as strong.

There aren’t many points to fill gap.

Ichinose now understands that although it is painful, when you are not strong enough, can only make choices.

From this perspective, she passed her exam. Have learned to make choices.

Compared to Ryuen’s desire to make Suzune’s class fall, Hachiman thinks it would be nice if he could pull Ichinose up.

“It’s also a problem. 16 million, are you going to set this a standard. What about next time?”

“Eehhh Woo....I-I uh.”

Her face looked pitiful.

There is a scent of citrus in the air, besides Hachiman doesn’t know if it’s always like this but Ichinose’s buttons were left open than usual.

Her monster-like cleavage is visible to naked eyes. It might be just his imagination too.

So he made a proposal.

“You can actually continue to maintain 20 million exemption plan, because difference is only a little over 3 million.”

“So Hikigaya-kun will lend us points?” Ichinose looked over with some surprise.

“No.” But he cruelly shook his head.

’Ah this....Although other party did not lend money, I also knew that my class had been living a life of debt. It does look unreliable. In fact, I have already approached Sakayanagi-san, but was rejected with a cold face. So is Hikigaya-kun still willing to lend it to me now?’

“Your thing is a bottomless pit. So I can’t keep lending it to you. This should also be given as a lesson to you, otherwise you will be taken advantage of in the future and face difficulties. As your marriage partner, I feel worried.”

“Eto...hehe!” She let out a nervous laugh as if to fan her face, it’s getting a bit hot or just her?

“In fact you don’t need to pretend to be cute, I will say it. I know someone who has some points. Although she still couldn’t get 20 million points in the end, difference was not that big. I bought you this promotion spot before, but it wasn’t for 20 million. It was because Acting Chairman Tsukishiro was short of budget, so he sold it at a low price. I bought the spot with 16 million points. And since the place for promotion can be negotiated, then...”

Hachiman paused.

But Ichinose already understood.

Then perhaps the price for exemption from withdrawal can be negotiated.

“So...uh, Hik---Hachiman, who is this girl you are talking about? You must be very close to know this, right?”

After her problems were solved, and heart calmed down, Ichinose gave him a big smile that could only said to be very sweet.

But Hachiman was scared out of his mind, and neck hair directly stood up!

So, he forced Ichinose out of his room instantly who kept looking back at him suspiciously, “Ara Ara~! It’s not fair at all!”

This is what happened when Acting chairman Tsukishiro went to work in his office, but found that it was surrounded by students from Ichinose’s class.
