COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

The most important thing is that he has just received his share for month.

What he hasn’t received yet is Ryuen’s own share, so Hikigaya-kun is very merciless.

Even started to concentrate on instructions for this special exam.

According to Hachiman’s understanding of Chairman Sakayanagi, who has just returned and may control scores. ’Since previous change of chairman was a transaction, there may be changes. After all, Ayanokoji is still here.....’

“This month’s special exam is more complicated. 2 in tota----”

“Fuck!!”

“Don’t be impatient! First, sports festival for entire grade that you are used to will be held at end of month.” Sakagami glared at this child whose face kept being more horrified.

“The explanation of rules will also be on 20th. So what you have to do is train yourself hard for the first half month, and then make sure you don’t do too badly in exam after you know the rules.”

“Then - Cultural Festival. It has been changed and will be open to public.”

“So it will be open to Outside world, allowing people from various backgrounds and schools to visit non the day of cultural festival.”

“Of course, considering the popularity of our school, only 300 tickets will be given, and guests who can visit the school will also be specially selected.”

’Good job. The school that has always been closed can actually become open. So what price did Ayanokoji’s father pay this time?’ But Hikigaya-kun is not interested in this meager stuff anymore.

’Because if guests are chosen randomly, then I am nervous about whether my sister Komachi will come, but if they are specially chosen by school, then it is basically an internal operation....It can’t be done without background. Then it has nothing to do with me....’ So he began to check rules of the cultural festival displayed on electronic screen.

’Because, since people can be invited in, means that students must organize cultural festival well, and then there will naturally be good luck. In other words, Sakayanagi’s father might do charity....!’ Hikigaya-kun is very easy about free things and rewards.

“On day of cultural festival, we will welcome many guests.”

“Then, you will be asked to compete with all classes in grade for total operating income at cultural festival. You can apply for several performances, but your budget is limited.”

While Mr. Sakagami was still talking, Hachiman had already started looking up the detailed exam rules.

Cultural Festival Overview

1. Each second-year student will be given 5,000 personal points to be used only in preparation for cultural festival of each class, and can use them freely within this range.

(First-year students will receive 5,500 points, and third-year students will receive 4,500 points as initial fees.)

2 Additional funds will be given based on social contributions such as student council services, as well as active participation in club activities.

(The additional amount ranges from 2,000 to 20,000 points.)

3 Initial expenses and additional funds will not be reflected in the final turnover, so if not used, they will be forfeited.

4. Because it is an assessment for the entire school, rewards are relatively rich and strict.

The evaluation is based on total sales from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on day of cultural festival.

Evaluation will be made based on the level of turnover.

The 1st to 4th ranked classes will receive an evaluation score of 300 points.

Classes ranked 5th to 8th will receive an evaluation score of 200 points.

Classes ranked 9th to 10th will receive an evaluation score of 100 points.

For 11th and 12th ranked classes, 300 points will be deducted from evaluation scores.

“…”

As soon as these rewards and punishments came out, immediately attracted students’ attention.

The last-ranked class will lose points, but there are 12 in total, so as long as you are in Top ten, you will get points.

So, security is very high.

The rules are also very simple and easy to understand. The school provides part of budget, and final competition is based on turnover.

The feeling won’t get lost in chaos.

“It feels like an authentic cultural festival.” A student said immediately.

The person who spoke like this was Ibuki-san.

Ibuki is a physically excellent person who has learned martial arts, but she is somewhat lacking in thinking.

But what she said means that she herself can understand questions of this exam.

Hikigaya-kun is not only concerned with these contents, he also looked at notes on the rules.

Note: 1. All participants can spend up to 100,000 points per person on day of the Cultural Festival.

This includes students who are free to go, faculty and staff, and guests from other schools.

In order to register uniformly, school will prepare special banknotes on the day of Cultural Festival.

After this, you can delegate class representatives to redeem points for point cards.

Note: 2  50% of total turnover of each class will be returned to school.

In other words, it eliminates the possibility that some wealthy people want to increase sales and then deliberately donate a large number of points to their own classes.

Restrictions have occurred.

After all, getting a top ranking can earn you 300 points in evaluation.

It is a profitable solution. So, there must be people who want to invest.

But this one is restricted.

However, even so, if a class that already has points reserves arranges the participation or business projects luxuriously, it will be more attractive to people.

For example, ordinary students can only set up a stall outside to sell fried noodles.

The wealthy class can directly prepare a luxurious steak meal and mark the price not too high, then there will definitely be customers rushing to get in.

After all, this is a channel where you can get a bargain.

Note 2 is also very smart. It takes into account there are still students who have points, and even arranges for each person to pay a maximum of 100,000 points.

Then, a bunch of tools can be found to deliberately invest money in their class projects to increase sales.

There is no way to prevent this.

So if you want to get free points from the school, you can.

The school allows you to use your money, but will also take back your points.

So, more you increase your turnover and invest money in it, the more you will eventually submit to school.

For example, if turnover reaches 40 million, school will directly take away 20 million.

Therefore, in the end, a class can only get a maximum evaluation score of 300 points, and only earn 1.2 million from school per month, and it will take nearly two years to make a profit.

In order to compete for rankings and continue to increase sales, more and more money has to be paid to school.

For senior students, it is really a shame because they may not even be able to make back their investment.

So at most it is only useful in terms of class evaluation scores and battle.

A certain degree of fairness has been stabilized.

Although Hachiman was sitting in his seat, he had already fully confirmed this was the work of Sakayanagi’s father.

As for 50% that will be confiscated, Hachiman thinks it is not that simple.

It should be used to subsidize guests from outside school. Since they invite others in, it is difficult to restrict their consumption.

They will definitely bring money with them, so it is fairer to directly use another kind of currency, 100,000 yen prepared by school.

But you can actually buy things with these coins, so this part is still a gap needs to be filled.

Each off-campus guest gets 100,000 yen, so 300 of them would be 30 million yen.

Then school takes 50% of students’ turnover.

As long as turnover reaches 60 million, which is an average of 5 million per class, loss can be offset.

Of course, turnover cannot be just this much.

’For this exam, it seems there will be a lot of points rewarded for participating, but last two will have a lot of points deducted, and taxes collected by school are extremely high, so overall, they did not actually spend much of budget. The person who planned this cultural festival is really a genius....’ After thinking it through, Hikigaya-kun felt that he had learned some inappropriate lessons.

Mr. Sakagami was still talking.

“Also, securing a location on campus will be a very important factor. For example, if you want to set up a stall near the main entrance where guests will definitely pass by, you will have to pay school a venue fee.”

So everyone took out their tablets.

In addition to electronic display screen that serves as a blackboard where rules and venue introduction can be seen, everyone’s tablets also received same information.

This is probably because they consider this is the first time Advanced Nurturing High School is open to public, so they hope students will take it seriously.

So, provided part of the funding, and also what seemed to be good points rewards, and now even provided the venue.

But it’s not completely free.

A good venue costs money to rent.

The tablet displays a map of campus, marking the locations where stalls can be set up.

Then click in and you’ll see price.

For example, place closest to the main gate that Mr. Sakagami mentioned just now is written as “Main Gate 1” and venue fee is 10,000 points per day.

If the location is far from main entrance and is not visited by guests, there seems to be a free place.

Hachiman clicked on empty first floor of special teaching building.

The marked price is 100,000.

Moreover, rental is based on the number of days used, 100,000 yen a day.

If you want to rent it in advance, you have to pay on day you get key.

Really don’t know who is the sucker who would rent there.

“It is very likely that place where you want to set up a stall will overlap with other classes or other grades, but one place can only be used by one class.”

“If there is a duplication, an auction will be held, and class willing to pay a higher price to rent venue from school will obtain the right to use it.”

Hachiman, on other hand, thinks this school is actually quite interesting.

Students were not allowed to work before.

But current stall setting and bidding method really provide students with experience in opening a store.

“Then here’s what I personally want to say.” As Class D... no, current Ryuen class has returned to C.

So, Mr. Sakagami straightened his chest.

Of course, as a teacher in Ryuen’s class, he always tries his best to pass on his assists to students.

It is still same now.

“Until day of cultural festival, it will not be announced which class will present what kind of performance and where stalls will be set up.”

“Even if school doesn’t leak information, we can’t cover students’ ears, so you should be careful about this. If information is leaked, other classes will take ruthless measures - it’s better to think about it this way.”

This means that you are worried that your class will be targeted or even plagiarized.

But Hachiman doesn’t think it’s a big deal. Because this class is best at using dark tactics.

At this time, Hiyori raised her hand.

“Shiina, you say.” Sakagami was in a good mood, so he encouraged this quite girl to speak.

This class is indeed thriving.

“If there are some things in project chosen by our class that cannot be prepared on campus, can we apply to purchase them from outside school?”

“That’s allowed. I even recommend you do this!”

Um...As expected, this is very Sakagami-sensei.

His opinion is correct.

In order to obtain sales, apart from forcing each student in class to spend 100,000 points, and eventually school takes half of sales, what is needed is to obtain sales from other faculty and guests.

The faculty and staff, like everyone else, are locked up in school, so they can usually taste what is available on campus.

At the same time, because money of students or faculty members on campus is exchanged by themselves, they cannot treat money as nothing like guests from outside the campus who receive it for free.

So, Sakagami’s afraid only things that are new and come from outside school can make them spend money.

The total number of students is more than 400, and number of faculty and staff plus those working in shopping street is about 1,000-1,200.

This number of candidates is also worth competing for.

“Then class meeting time will be left to you.” Teacher Sakagami had just kicked Ryuen off the podium before making announcement, so now he returned it back to him.
