COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

After signing a note to Ryuen, he left the class with Albert visiting Admin of dormitory to get money, and then follow Rika out to complete leaving procedures.

As a class leader, this was his responsibility.

“.....” Hachiman stayed put, well his relationship with Rika is really not okay to go out.

It’s not like he doesn’t trust Ryuen to steal his point cards or something like that.

But, still he felt like....

“During the second round of voting just now, did Hikigaya-kun cast a dissenting vote?”

Oh, this one.

Noticing that Rika seemed to be about to cry, Hikigaya-kun chose to object.

However, there were three people who chose to oppose.

Rika herself would not object due to her personality, so the person who voted against it and gave her another chance to make a decision should be Ryuen, and then... Shiina-san in front of him.

Since it was something he had done, Hachiman did not deny it.

“I see…” Hiyori nodded. ’In fact, I felt a little relieved and updated my evaluation of Hikigaya-kun. Last year, he exploited Ryuen-kun very badly, like a big devil, and now he has joined as a classmate, but in uninhabited island exam, he behaved quite righteously. They even united boys from three classes to take action in response to Komiya-kun’s injury. As a result, now, because Rika-san was in a bad mood, the exam was interrupted. So, I originally thought that Hikigaya-kun was a very decisive person, but also quite rational. Certainly, I was really scared when he decisively proposed to me that he would give me 20 million yen to get married after graduation....!’

“So, what is Hikigaya-kun thinking about now?” Hiyori repeated the question, because this boy still looked in a daze.

“I’m wondering what Class A will choose.”

“Second grade Class A...” Hiyori blinked cutely. ’Hikigaya-kun is very concerned about Sakayanagi-san. Or... is he actually hoping that her class will also get good results in this exam? However, she already has a very high score of 1820 points, but does Hikigaya-kun actually hope that her class can get more points? Is this because he is expecting his opponent to become stronger, or is it simply because he hopes that her class can get higher scores? Ugh!! I am just going in circles!’

Hiyori felt like she had grasped something but also like she didn’t fully understand it, “I think we should be more worried about Ichinose-san’s class.”

She has very few friends, Ichinose-san and Kushida-san are considered two of them.

Of course, she was one who was passively greeted by them and then conquered by personal charm and social skills.

Now we are in second grade Class C, also known as Ichinose’s Eternal Paradise Sect!

Exams are also continuing. It has lasted for one hour and twenty minutes.

However, only got to 3rd question.

Topic 3 - Living expenses distributed every month according to class evaluation scores will become zero, but three students randomly selected from the class to be given protection points.

Or living expenses can be halved, but one student can be given protection points.

If you do not want to choose any of the above options, living expenses of those who rank in bottom five in next written test will be reduced to zero.

“…”

“It’s 3rd round of voting now. There were 6 votes for clearing all students’ living expenses for half a year, 34 votes for halving all students’ living expenses, and 0 votes for clearing living expenses of five students who takes next written test.”

“Since there is a disagreement among the whole class, we will now enter discussion phase. You have 10 minutes.” Chie recited her words, because she is homeroom teacher of Ichinose.

But it’s not that people are divided, but that all students have same idea.

That is it.

I hope that everyone’s income points will be halved, and then a specific person, Ichinose-san, will be given a place to be exempted from expulsion.

The students were stuck on third question. It’s not because of disunity.

“I think we can choose second option. Representatives from other classes have titles that protect them from expulsion, but our class doesn’t. So this is an opportunity now. If half of everyone’s points are taken away, we can let Ichinose-san get protector as well. This school has too many withdrawal exams, so even if we can avoid this one, we won’t be able to avoid the next.” Shibata-kun had a strong presence today.

But his unintentional words made Kanzaki look distressed.

Because he was the one who lost the protective title that Ichinose-san had obtained in class vote to withdraw from exam last year.

It’s just that Shibata’s brain is not usually smart enough, but he agreed with this proposal.

There is something to it.

Because current evaluation score is only more than 1,300 points, it can be converted into living expenses and get more than 4 million per month.

After deducting half of it, you will get more than 2 million from school every month, which means 12 million for half a year.

It is equivalent to buying a dropout protection title for 12 million.

It is quite cheap.

“But this is still too expensive.” However, Ichinose refused like a good person, “Besides, I can’t let whole class pay for me. And now we are still in debt.”

Obviously, Ichinose has 20 million on hand. But this is considering subsequent risks that will be spent.

Now third question is enough to make people feel nervous and should not be taken lightly.

Therefore, 20 million that Ichinose has collected now may be spent.

After that, everyone will be penniless.

7 million of it was even borrowed!

“I think it’s still necessary.” However, Kanzaki-kun said firmly. ’We are now at third question, cannot be sure whether option of dropping out will appear in next two questions. However, if we miss this opportunity to buy a place to be exempted from dropping out at a low price here, we will not have this opportunity again. If you are facing the situation of dropping out of school. I also have a way of understanding. The points accumulated so far will not be used. Even classmates not be in debt!’

However, he said decisively showing good math skills, “Because school will only collect points for half a year, but we will stay for about two years. As for the debt problem, it’s easy to solve. The school will take half of the living expenses, and we just need to pay remaining half for three consecutive months, and it will be solved. And didn’t we already do this after we voted in class to withdraw from exam last year?”

Although Kanzaki was standing on his seat, he seemed to be calling on everyone.

It immediately attracted the attention of companions around.

Huh?

That is to say, considering worst-case scenario, their class is now 7 million in debt, and it will take three months of no living expenses to pay it off.

They have actually experienced three months without living.

Just last year, before election of new student council president, people got to know our seniors in 3rd year class better and ate a free, unpalatable vegetable meal together.

Even Ichinose gained a lot of experience from her predecessors, such as you can bring some seasonings with you, or take ingredients back to dormitory and boil water to scoop them up before eating, which will make it taste much better.

Although life was hard and difficult at that time, still felt it was worth it compared to being able to protect a random friend.

Just by eating wild vegetable meal for another three months, you can buy Ichinose-san a chance to avoid expulsion, which doesn’t seem like a bad thing.

“If that’s the case, I suggest you choose first option.” However, Ichinose, who had been resisting, said foolishly, “If paying half of living expenses is just to give me a chance to drop out, I don’t think it’s necessary. Option 1 is more cost-effective.”

Option one is that entire class will have no living expenses for half a year, and then 3 students can be randomly selected to receive protection from expulsion.

The advantage is that 3 people but chosen by school randomly.

But it’s random so it’s fair. Worthy of all the hard work. Of course, there are some risks.

That is, class evaluation scores may change during six months. It may go up or down.

If grade drops, school will take away living expenses equal to value of their class evaluation scores in accordance with the agreement.

So it was even cheaper at that time.

If price increases, will have to pay more points to school, and cost-effectiveness will decrease.

These are all things of the future.

Ichinose, you’ve been morally blackmailed all of a sudden.

The whole class offered you a spot but you refused to accept it, so you chose 3 random spots that were fair.

But this is what Kanzaki-kun really wants to see.
