COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

“This class has nothing to do with me now. It doesn’t matter whether students can pass the exam or not. Everything depends on their own luck. No matter what choice they make, I will perform my duties as the class teacher impartially,” Chabashira used a very official statement.

Hoshinomiya glanced at her, ”Is that so? Although you don’t seem to be able to make such a clear distinction. Otherwise you wouldn’t have...” She paused as if thinking about that day, “Let me take a picture of you in a maid outfit and send it to Hikigaya-kun. Everything proves, Sae-chan, how obsessed you were with class ranking. How wanted to be promoted to Class A. But, don’t forget, Sae-chan, you are not qualified to aim for Class A.”

She made a gritting sound that did not conceal the hatred contained in her voice.

“I can’t forgive you for what you did, so I’m sorry. I recorded the scene and actions when you asked me to take the photo and sent it to Hikigaya-kun. I can report this kind of thing.”

In other words, is Hoshinomiya going to betray Chabashira?

As a class teacher, sending photos to students privately is very indecent. If it is exposed, Chabashira will be punished.

“Whatever you want.” But Chabashira herself didn’t care at all, she said in a very direct tone, then turned and left.

There was no sign of submission in hope this would not happen.

In other words, just as Sakagami said, Chabashira really wanted to resign.

Hoshinomiya stood still, watching her departing back. Her left hand clenched.

“So...how did Sae-chan get rid of it? I’m still stuck in the exam, but she... is completely free. Even some of guilt that was there towards me is now gone. I don’t understand it at all!”

Having said this, Chie took test materials and walked out of office.

“Just now, there seemed to be a very dangerous atmosphere over there with Hoshinomiya and Chabashira.”

In same classroom, other two homeroom teachers had also arrived at the scene.

Sakagami had much free time, and said leisurely to Mashima-sensei.

”Um....I’m going to invigilate the exam.” But Teacher Mashima just picked up materials needed for the exam and walked out.

In this way, Sakagami was the only one left.

“.....” Really?

’Not only Hoshinomiya, but even old guy Mashima ignores me now. Just watch. My class will definitely move up! But this time, it shouldn’t work. Because I had already received five questions for this exam, one of which would limit students’ scores.’

In addition to students, teachers were also in place.

“Well, let’s begin this month’s special exam for all students.  Although I want to say this, considering the long duration of exam, now while there are still 10 minutes, everyone go to the toilet.”

“You are not allowed to leave at will during the exam.” Teacher Sakagami said while standing at podium.

More than 7 people left.

“....”

He was also somewhat surprised to find that seats of everyone in class had changed.

That is new student, Ishizaki Daichi, who was on left side of Hikigaya Hachiman, who changed positions.

He moved his desk to the back, and the cute girl with silver straight hair, Shiina Hiyori, sat in seat originally occupied by Ishizaki Daichi.

This means that to left of Hikigaya is Shiina-san, and to right is Ryuen.

Both Ryuen and Shiina are students in his class who are good at using their brains.

Speaking of which.

In last uninhabited island exam, Mr. Sakagami actually didn’t have such high hopes, but the result was beyond his expectations.

Not only did students in class gain a large number of points, but even...the evaluation score broke record and reached an astonishing score of 525 points.

All of this... is because Hikigaya Hachiman transferred here.

Ryuen had been losing before, and then he bought Hikigaya. It wasn’t because buying an opponent would reduce the number of opponents, but because... could Hikigaya actually come here to lead this class?

That’s true.

The other party led Chabashira’s class that flew past A.

Then let him see how Hikigaya-kun will handle this exam.

Students who went to toilet also came back one after another.

”So……” Teacher Sakagami glanced at the clock hanging above podium. It was 9:59.

“bite--!”

Arrive at 10 o’clock. Exam time is up.

“Well, without further ado, let’s move on to the exam process.” Mr. Sakagami turned on display screen that served as a blackboard.

“First, communication devices such as mobile phones cannot be used, and then. Each of you will take one of these tablets. The content displayed is same as the blackboard.”

“For the convenience of statistics, please answer on the tablet.”

Because it is an anonymous exam, tablet naturally does not need to be bound to student’s information.

So Mr. Sakagami confiscated all students’ mobile phones and also gave each of them a tablet.

“There are five test questions in total. Only when the whole class makes same choice will we move on to the next topic.”

“If there is a discrepancy, even if one student makes a different choice than other students, there will be a discussion period. 10 minutes. And each time question appears, you only have 60 seconds to make your choice.”

“A class that completes 5 test questions within 3-hour limit will receive a 100-point class evaluation score. If it fails to complete the test within the time limit, 300 points will be deducted.”

The blackboard display lit up.

Options also appeared on students’ tablets.

The first of five test questions appeared on electronic display screen that served as a blackboard.

Task 1- Choose which class you will compete against in the final exam held in first semester of 3rd grade.

Option Class A (+100 points) Class B (+50 points) Class C (+0 points)

Then are prompts below.

Note: 1 Even if class rank changes, this choice will take priority.

Note: The numbers in 2 () are additional class evaluation points that can be obtained when winning battle.

“This option is a special exam held at end of the first semester of your third year to determine your opponents.”

“As mentioned in supplement, suppose everyone unanimously chooses the current class A, which is Sakayanagi’s. Even if her A falls to class D before end of first semester of 3rd year, opponent will be Class A when this option was voted, and the additional class evaluation points will not change.”

“Because exam questions are exactly the same for all four classes, if you all choose different opponents, then school will randomly select them. If you choose Class A where Sakayanagi is now, and then Class A where Sakayanagi is also chooses you, then you will get 100 extra points in final exam of first semester of the 3rd year.”

“But Sakayanagi’s class will not receive any extra points.”

The choice now displayed is Class C, which adds 0 points, and Hachiman and his classmates are in Class D.

Logically speaking, as the lowest class, Sakayanagi could not receive any extra points.

Hachiman noticed that although Mr. Sakagami had just mentioned some detailed rules, such as only giving 60 seconds to answer each voting question.

But now he is still bala bala.

That is to say, teacher will give an explanation when question appears.

After all, if students are required to choose a question within 1 minute after it appears, some students may not even finish reading the question.

So how to answer?

Do shit.

But this teacher is still very inclined.

Because example he just gave was that Class A, where Sakayanagi was, fell to D.

He really dares to think.

But people should have ambitions, and Hikigaya-kun agrees with him.

Just like he used to dream that someone would be willing to support him and he wouldn’t have to work.

And now this ambition seems to be coming true.

Apparently, after the question was given, Hikigaya-kun was daydreaming.

“Well, let’s start first vote. The time limit is sixty seconds. If you exceed, you will enter the penalty time. You will be deducted 5 minutes of exam time.”

The total test time for 5 questions is 3 hours, which is 180 minutes when converted into minutes.

If time is deducted every time, it will become perverted. So naturally no one will continue to be distracted.

Began the answering.

“Since everyone has voted, the results will be announced next.”

Because an anonymous tablet was used, electronic system compiled the results immediately.

The results of first vote were:

Class A 20 votes, Class B 19 votes, and Class C 0 votes.

The votes are concentrated in Class A and B, which can receive additional evaluation score rewards.

This was not for the purpose of obtaining class rating points in future, but was the result of an agreement Hachiman had made with students in his class yesterday.

If your student number is odd, select the first option; if your student number is even, select 2nd option.

“Since there is no consensus among the audience, we will set up a halftime break. It will last for 10 minutes.”

“Phew----!’ The classmates breathed a sigh of relief.

Obviously, as a house full of bad guys, there are many people who are not smart enough.

Although Mr. Sakagami has just explained it, there are still some people who failed to understand the question.

“Hikigaya-kun”

Even Hiyori-san looked over. She chose to sit here today in the hope of better communication and making strategies.

“There should be no objection to this question. According to the requirements, we are asked to choose between playing against Sakayanagi, Horikita, and Ichinose. Although we can add the most points against Sakayanagi’s class. However, the overall strength of hers is very strong, and the exam questions for 3rd year are unclear, so I suggest you go for Horikita’s class.”

“Then I’ll fight Horikita.” The corners of Ryuen’s mouth curled up slightly.

Hachiban knew very well that although the tyrant could not cheat in this exam, he was certain Koenji would definitely leave Horikita Class.

Then in 3rd grade, they can bully Horikita class at will, as they have lost two generals in a row.

Obviously, Ryuen has not changed his weakness and is still confident.

Ryuen might have thought that if Hachiman left the class, then Koenji would also leave, and combat power be greatly reduced.

As someone who came out of that class, Hachiman knew very well how many problem children there were, how many of them could act, and how strong some of individual soldiers were.

’Especially, there is a sleeping big boss in that class. So Dragon boy’s full confidence may be hit. But by then I will be in third grade, and will have made enough money, and may even be bought by Sakayanagi, so it doesn’t matter if Ryuen makes a fuss.’

Hikigaya-kun thought to himself.
