Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1429: Chapter 7: The New World Is a Bit Troublesome

List suddenly turned and rushed to Hill’s side: ”Wait a minute! I remember you gave the Elves a lot of strange bombs, didn’t you?”

”What does that matter? They’re not likely to explode right next to us, are they?”

”Could you close your mouth, please, sir!” List was panic-stricken, unable to maintain his usual butler courtesy, ”Damn it! I need to prepare some supplies and stash them into spatial equipment of various levels!

As long as it’s not a Magic-less Universe, there will always be something usable!”

Hill couldn’t help but tap his lower lip, and with a sheepish smile, he spoke quietly: ”Don’t worry, it won’t be a World Without Magic.

The Universe exists in different ways, and if the opposite side doesn’t accept it, it will be repelled when encountering bad luck... Generally speaking, the reverse can happen.”

”I don’t need you to demonstrate, sir.” List was beyond angry, ”I’m worried about the Half-plane! My Core is still inside!

If by some chance... Damn it!”

He disappeared quickly from Hill’s sight, but Hill already understood what he wanted to say... An existence like Half-plane in a Low Magic World might not work... Even if it’s just an entrance, it requires some energy to open.

And this amount of energy, which barely feels like consumption in a High Magic World, might require a pile of Space Crystal Stones to be consumed for one activation in a Low Magic World.

In the Low Magic World, the demand for energy is high... So basically, only Crystals can be used as means for casting spells. Even an Archmage like Hill, who can cast spells without materials, needs Space Crystals for higher magic, or else it will deplete the Mana and spiritual power in the body.

Mages in Low Magic World don’t have as long a lifespan as those in High Magic World, partly because they don’t have enough energy to strengthen their bodies.

Normally, mages become more valuable as they age... An Archmage who is near death and doesn’t plan to turn into a Lich is the most terrifying, being able to perish together with Deities.

But Archmages in Low Magic World aren’t as threatening; self-destructive moves to take out the enemy along with oneself can only take care of enemies at the same level or lower.

List wasn’t worried that Hill would encounter problems if he fell into a troublesome world. After all, even if he temporarily needs to adapt and can’t cast spells, Hill can still pretend to be an infinitely strong warrior.

But what bothers him is if he can’t get out and doesn’t have Puppets to manage Hill’s life, the hands-off manager Hill might indeed become unbearable.

Not long after, different-level Puppets appeared in the study, each holding several storage tools equivalent to their level.

Hill, who wrongly spoke, could only watch with bated breath as the Tower Spirit ran through the Magic Tower with an innocent look... But List had no intention of looking.

”According to Universal Laws, these unusable items will give you 1 minute to retrieve.” Looking a bit restrained, List finally spoke up, ”Sir, remember to timely return unusable Puppets to the Half-plane! I will instruct them to farm and build houses in the Half-plane!

I have all the blueprints.

Sigh...”

He glanced at Hill again: ”Sir, please maintain your cautiousness in Toril, alright?”

Hill nodded cautiously: ”I will be very, very careful.”

”Purwell... shouldn’t be a problem, right?” List looked up at the tower’s peak, ”Creatures like him only need Magic Power to exist!”

Hill waved the blueprint in his hand: ”I will build a carriage according to the style of that world or... I remember, some worlds are actually at the Steam Magic stage?

Then can I make an armored vehicle?”

List gave a cold laugh, about to speak, when a terrifying explosion sounded right beside them... ”Damn it! It’s really next to us!”

The Magic Tower shook violently, and Hill couldn’t help but look at the situation outside the whale through the monitoring device that was still working: ”Ah! A Dabas rushed in! It’s accompanied by a female elf using Healing Divine Art... They really come together.

They didn’t even look our way and directly charged there! Seems like they know where to find the person they’re looking for!

Has Wendy contacted the Elf Princess inside the box after finding Guan Aioska’s box?”

”Sir!” List suddenly shouted, ”Did you also give the Moon Elves a bomb made from Space Crystals?”

”Eh?” Hill looked at him puzzled, ”With all sorts of chaotic Element bombs, how would I know which one is what?”

”Hmph~” List sneered, ”I don’t believe you didn’t see that the Queen is still throwing bombs everywhere! The maze was already unstable, once the endless Space Blades unleash... You thought about it long ago, right? That’s why you said Purwell’s body wouldn’t be safe!

You... must have known what would happen just from seeing Wendy!”

Hill struggled to keep the chair floating mid-air unaffected by the violent shaking: ”Ah... I just suddenly realized that the bomb types are too complex, even I can’t predict what results might occur... But isn’t there at least a fifty-fifty chance she won’t use them!

Besides, there are the Elf Deity Systems out there!

No one knows if the Moonflower Queen has that madness to take her daughter’s soul back to the Divine Kingdom even if it means mutual destruction!

She really hates the Lady of Pain!

Discovering the effectiveness of the bombs, she doesn’t intend to keep a single one.”

The thunderous sound of explosions echoed throughout the universe, as Hill tried his best to maintain the Magic Tower’s defense... Even if he were thrown out, he had to hear the outcome before making a move!

Fortunately, he still heard it.

First came an angry roar that seemed to ring right by his ear: ”Mark City! No! Charybdis! I’m back alive!”

A cold, metal-like female voice arrogantly sounded: ”Lady of Pain, fears no challenge.

Fool, I’m waiting for you in Mark City.”

A gigantic figure appeared above the labyrinth... The Lady of Pain, with long satin robes swirling in the air, was a dazzling tall beauty.

She possessed exquisite features and a halo of divine serenity. Instead of hair, she bore a ring of sharpened blades, with ink-black lips and determined yellow eyes.

She curved her fingers into black claws, slashed downwards through the air, and countless sharp knives of various shapes appeared within the labyrinth, spinning rapidly, attempting to slice everything in their path into pieces.

The last thing Hill sensed was a piercing metallic screech... The Lady of Pain did not intend to spare anyone in the labyrinth, even as the half-collapsed labyrinth had already cast out countless silhouettes.

Dressed in a white robe, Eosca naturally noticed this as well. With a sarcastic smile on his handsome face, he waved his hands vigorously... Beams of Light Gates appeared inside and outside the labyrinth.

With the Wind God Wendy clutching the cape fluttering behind him, she deftly summoned a gale, sending those unfortunate souls, who were clutching their heads and screaming in agony due to the Lady of Pain’s terrifying howl, into those Light Gates.

Hill, who was tense with defense, suddenly lifted his hand, allowing the gale to blow his Magic Tower towards a Light Gate... Half of its whale-like structure had been thoroughly destroyed when the Lady of Pain made her move.

He finally saw what he wanted to see... The Elf Queen, holding her two lifelike daughters who had been turned into statues, followed Eosca with a face full of sorrow, her clothes tattered, hair disheveled, and both her face and body were covered with countless blood streaks.

There was also a man dressed in splendid robes holding a flower pot beside her—a strange sign floating above his head displaying Eosca’s name.

That should be the only converted Dabas, Mr. Feil, innocent, endearing, yet stubborn.

The only extraordinary priest in Mark City.

It was likely with his help that the Sorrowful Queen survived such a dreadful explosion.

At last, a good ending... Even if those two princesses can only reunite with their father, brothers, and sisters in the Divine Kingdom, and never again touch real plants and flowers, or smell their true fragrance.

Hill sighed. There’s no need to worry for others anymore... Where exactly was he being teleported to?

This long!

The last time he experienced such an extended teleportation passage was when traveling from Teraxil to Gerns... He recalls Coron mentioning that it was a Star Gate that crossed innumerable light-years, through countless universes, over a super long distance.

Could it be... Hill had a bit of self-awareness... Even someone as lovely and non-meddlesome as this kindhearted mage, truly could not find a world willing to accept him?

The Undead Tribe wasn’t really trailing after him!

Coron originally intended to take them to Toril!

The responsibility absolutely was not on the innocent him!

Hill...without mentioning that he might be a plunderer of bald treasures and divine artifacts for AO...was truly very displeased.

Anyway, List already returned to the half-plane, and Purwell remained obediently inside his skull, not daring to move. Hill licked his lips, tentatively speaking: ”Any world will do, as long as there are flowers, grass, and trees... I don’t care about the level of magic power.

Moreover, I promise not to bring the Undead Tribe over!

So, whoever’s willing, kind sir or madam, be gracious and lend me a hand?

I truly don’t wish to drift like this any longer... Oh~

Thank you for your trust, I will certainly keep my promise~”

Hill felt a sudden brightness before him, as a magnificent stone gate bordered with a golden thread appeared in front of the Magic Tower, generously opening its grand doors for him.

The Magic Tower spun and was drawn inside.

Hill couldn’t help but squint, breaking into a smile... Indeed, worlds with earth attributes loved him the most!

Then he quickly froze.

The energy pool of the Magic Tower was depleted by more than half nearly instantly, sealing most of its functions... On the puppets before him, those above the High Level had rings of transparent shields appearing.

Even several Level 16s were no good!

In a flash of realization, Hill tossed all these items into the half-plane, not even having time to give List any further instructions, and could only watch as the light of the half-plane’s gate completely dimmed.
