Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1427: Chapter 5: Purwell’s Blunt Honesty

”She actually knows how to say sorry! Can you believe an Element Lord would use a contract with herself to tempt a mage!

Even when sensing the wind elements’ favor on Sir, she still dared to offer.

What if Sir fell for it? Would she then say that before signing a contract with her, he’d first need to find Eosca to break her Lesser God’s oath?

Tsk, it’s only because Sir knows the God System and has a good understanding of elements that he won’t be deceived. Any other mage would have been done for by now!” List said, not too pleased.

Hill shook his head: ”Elemental creatures are always persistent.

Though her words are roundabout, they’re all truthful.

As long as you listen carefully and aren’t ruled by greed, you can understand them.

Although she indeed wanted to trick me, but...

Forget it, what’s the point in quarreling with an Element Lord already slipping into despair?

As long as she didn’t deceive me, it’s fine.”

Hill flicked his fingers: ”Otherwise, I would have to pile a mountain of Lapis Crystal Iron mixed with Spurious Silver here.

It’s not very troublesome, but the thought that it might benefit the Lady of Pain makes me reluctant to do it!”

List was a bit confused: ”I know Lapis Crystal Iron can bind wind and sound waves, but what’s the use of Spurious Silver?”

”When she cries for help, the sound emitted by the wind element becomes a psychological sonic shock, causing all kinds of fear in those who hear it.

In this labyrinth, the most likely effect is seeing the Lady of Pain, isn’t it?

People who don’t want to die will turn away directly, even if they discover the peculiarity of the mountain.” Hill chuckled, ”Even if this labyrinth rarely encounters anyone, didn’t we just run into it?

Daring to deceive me, ten thousand years wouldn’t be enough.”

List couldn’t help but smile: Teraxil has indeed brought various troubles to Hill, but it also brought some benefits.

Hill finally understood what level of combat ability he had in this fantasy world, and gaining much more confidence is the best part.

Second, he started to realize that his kind nature should only be shown to those who deserve it.

Hill still insists on his way of doing things, but after being influenced by a world like Teraxil, where even kindness can be terrifying, he no longer uses factions to determine whether the opposite side is worth his smile.

”But... how did you all figure it out?” the Little Whale, unable to hold back anymore after pondering for a long time on the side, asked, ”I didn’t hear anything at all?”

”Uh...” Hill glanced at the Little Whale, who dared to trust even the Evil Faction, and said a bit helplessly, ”Well, for starters...

When she introduced herself, she said her name was Wendy, which is obviously not an elemental’s true name... An Element Lord’s name is always made of Runes, even if it’s just a character, it would at least sound with three syllables.

So, such a simple name is obviously for the convenience of those who don’t speak the Rune language to call her, and it might even have been given by Eosca.

The moment she woke up, she spoke in Runic when she first spoke, but when introducing her name, she used the common tongue name Wendy... This proves that she cherishes this name more.

Therefore, she couldn’t possibly not care about the God of Portals who gave her this name.

I have a wind elemental creature friend, who I’ve nurtured from a flying sprite to a lord!

But even after becoming a lord, although he used the syllable I gave him, he just incorporated that syllable into the Rune language.”

To Hill, Kais is always Kais, but when introducing himself to others, he uses the full name, Kes Panaggio.

If even the Kais, who sees Hill as a brother and father figure, wouldn’t do that, why would the one claiming to not care about Eosca, Miss Wendy, do so?

Then Hill couldn’t help but sigh with some pity in his voice: ”Though she’s still in a green neutral stage, her eyes are beginning to deepen... This shows she had fallen into despair before she went to sleep.

If she truly didn’t care about Eosca’s death as she claimed, she would not be so desperate.

Think about the consequences of elemental despair, like the Winter Maiden in Teraxil.

Great Fairies, in certain aspects, are quite similar to elemental creatures.”

List glanced at the Little Whale and added lightly: ”Wind elemental creatures in a Kind Alignment are transparent white, neutral is light green, deep green, or even green turning black signifies evil.

The first to change is their eyes.

Normally, the color of the eyes should be lighter than the body... If it’s the other way around, it means they are in the process of transitioning.”

Purwell suddenly understood: ”Oh... so the moment she opened her eyes, Hill quickly retreated to a place more convenient for combat?”

”Although you, ah, and that little Otherworldly Whale, might not be meticulous enough to detect issues from what others hint at, you should at least manage to avoid evil or evil-leaning creatures, right?” List advised seriously, ”Though you Otherworldly Whales embark on your journeys always prepared to be deceived, learning more common knowledge can prevent many problems.

Other Otherworldly Whales don’t have this chance, but you do!

Don’t always think about playing, wouldn’t it be good to read more books with that little one?”

Purwell froze right inside the Light Ord.

If Otherworldly Whales have a love for learning... then the various deceit records gathered in the Sea of Clouds World should be enough to alert most whales!

Yet they still prefer to grow through deception, the best of them only remembering to have less dealings with humans!

List looked at his disappointing demeanor and couldn’t help but sigh, ”Sir, I think Purwell might not be like what you imagined, leaving you early to fly freely.

Maybe he’ll have to go back to Teraxil with us.”

Inside the light orb, Purwell uneasily flicked his tail.

Hill laughed, ”That’s not bad either~ Who can have such a fine steed?”

Purwell immediately started happily spinning inside the light orb, only realizing after a long time, ”Are we not looking for an exit?”

Hill tugged at his long hair and sighed, ”I once heard that the Lady of Pain’s labyrinth has an exit that appears only once in a century, even she can’t let anyone out before that.

I thought it was an exaggeration!

For a maze matrix to take shape, there must be an exit... a labyrinth that takes so long for a random exit to appear truly requires formidable power to achieve!

I can’t even dare to imagine.

Ah~ When will I be able to do such terrifying things~”

After muttering for a while, he suddenly continued to answer Purwell, ”Clearly, the labyrinth currently has no exit.

Though I don’t know how long it will be before it appears, it must at least exceed 20 years.

So... we can only hope this Wind God will quickly find Eosca.

That one, how is he not the Master of the Universe ~

As long as we’re not in Mark City, he is quite powerful, at least enough to make this labyrinth temporarily ineffective for a period, sufficient for us to leave.”

”So... are we going to watch a drama again?” List laughed.

”That’s not the same.” Hill stared expressionlessly at the direction Wendy disappeared, ”The existence of this labyrinth is no different from the Universe.

You should remember what it was like when Toril exploded.

Without the protection of Puzzle Lock, relying solely on Purwell’s body to withstand, I don’t know how long it will last, or if any danger will arise.

So, List, store the things inside the whale’s belly into the Magic Tower and half-plane first!

The flowers, grass, and trees as well.

Anyway, the pinnacle of the Magic Tower also protected Purwell’s skull, even if Purwell’s body can’t be preserved, as long as the Magic Tower remains, it can be rebuilt.

However... it’s just, Purwell’s fish bones probably will also...”

”That’s alright!” Purwell suddenly shouted happily, ”I heard you and Master Fran discussing that kind of transformation, the vehicle usable both at sea and air?

Because of me, Hill didn’t want to hurt my feelings, so no specific management Intelligence Core was made, right?

But my fish bones are too large and sturdy, not suitable for transforming into those foldable vehicles.

I actually also quite like it~

But I can’t bear my whale bones.

But if due to external forces, it’s not protectable, then I just need the skull, after all, even if rebuilt, whether in sky, sea, or Universe, I can maintain a whale form, right?

Then I wouldn’t mind becoming a carriage! Or a giant ox with four legs, that’s quite interesting too!”

Hill pressed his forehead and laughed helplessly, ”That is a concept proposed by the Undead Tribe, grandfather found it interesting, so he made a few prototypes.

It’s not very mature yet!”

”But Hill...” Purwell’s small light orb lightly rubbed Hill’s face, ”Hill doesn’t mind wasting materials, right?

Even if I keep changing bodies, I’m okay~

Just, can I choose my own color? We Otherworldly Whales are all pale white~

When in whale form, of course, I hope to remain white, but if transforming into a vehicle... I want to try other colors!”

”So why are you convinced this whale body will surely break?” List calmly reminded.

”But... Hill is an even more terrifying jinx than Snow Old Dog, especially when it comes to cursing himself this is particularly effective... It’s not what you, List, said yourself?” Purwell frankly exposed.

Facing Hill’s deadly stare, List awkwardly laughed a few times and swiftly vanished into thin air, leaving only a sentence, ”I’m going to tidy up the internal affairs!”

Though somewhat angry, Hill, after staring for a few seconds, still muttered, ”Then, Purwell better quickly return to the skull!”

At least, the defense can double.
