Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1404: Chapter 1194: Edna Charging Toward the Stellar Realm

Edna ran through each floor, pushing open the door to every room, imprinting each one deep in her heart, even reaching out to touch the curtains on the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The long corridor with its comfortable sofas, the beautiful side cabinets.

One beautiful painting after another... each representing her dreams.

She once held so many beautiful fantasies about her future, each one quietly gathered here.

She knew she would never see them again... but they were no longer truly within her sight.

No matter how reluctant, time spares no one.

A breathless Edna finally stopped; she gazed at the white rose vines wrapped around the oval archway, taking a deep breath, and quietly entered that open garden filled with purple immortals at the castle’s highest point.

This was Edna’s own isolated little world, only accessible to those she deemed worthy.

She had no need to consider the feelings of others... Hence, only the endless, ever-changing shades of purple surrounded her, with no hint of the Weave’s blue and white.

A droplet slowly formed at the corner of Edna’s eye... but quickly it condensed into a gemstone.

Now she didn’t even have the right to cry...

Holding the crystal-clear teardrop gem in her hand, Edna turned to look at the ’Old Age Striking King’ silently following her.

However, before she could speak, the ’Old Age Striking King’ had already pulled her forcefully to the outermost terrace of the garden.

At that moment, the dark sky suddenly blossomed with countless flowers.

”Look! How beautiful the fireworks are in our sky~ Just watch the fireworks, and before leaving, forget about those troubling thoughts.” The ’Old Age Striking King’ smiled at her, pointing to the sky filled with fireworks, ”Life is like fireworks, brilliant and colorful, fleeting yet eternal.

The fleeting is the time spent together... even if it’s siblings, parents, and children, they are only companions for a part of one’s life.

As for everlasting love, indeed it is precious, but I will bless you with happiness without insisting on your obtaining it.

For some, love is important.

But sometimes, some people feel that a joyful life does not need the embellishment of love.

So, Edna, in our world, we only wish for you to live as you wish; when love comes, seize it, and if it slips away, let it go gracefully.

But memories are permanent, happy memories are never forgotten.

So don’t be sad, live happily every day in the future~”

Edna nodded lightly, revealing her most beautiful smile under the sky filled with fireworks.

She glanced up at the fireworks extravaganza that completely flooded the sky.

Edna understood very well why the Undead Tribe would do this.

The birthday song was a blessing for her, but these fireworks were meant to make her last days in Toril undisturbed by outside influences.

Everyone knew that on the battlefield among the starry sky, every movement heard was a summons for this new Goddess of Magic.

She hadn’t appeared at Heim’s self-destruction... which had actually surprised many deities.

Heim’s death was indeed inevitable.

But as Mystra’s successor, she normally should have witnessed the end of the Guardian God who influenced three generations of the Goddess of Magic.

All gods of Toril have always valued this sort of mysterious ritual.

But Edna did not appear.

Compared to such trivial matters, she thought her castle was more important... if anything were to delay her steps, it would have to be news of Heim fooling around with Cyric again.

Edna thought that in her future days, she must learn from those three powerful Divine Powers who never missed a fun event while sitting in Hill Castle.

She even had an illusion that only such powerful Divine Powers could live long in such a ghostly place as Toril.

Ha~ maybe it’s not an illusion.

Edna blinked, bent slightly, and took the hand of the ’Old Age Striking King,’ gently placing the gemstone in her palm.

The teardrop gemstone seemed to feel the owner’s intent, slowly sinking into the female priest’s palm... finally floating lightly on the ’Old Age Striking King’s’ forehead.

Edna laughed: ”Ah... indeed, I am a very cunning person!

Only wanting to exist in the heart and mind of the Sanda King Sister.”

The ’Old Age Striking King’ touched their forehead with the other hand: ”Ah... is this the blessing of the Goddess of Magic?”

”Edna.” Edna said softly, ”In front of you, there is only Edna.”

The mellow sound of bells struck her ears as the bell tower of Hidden Town’s port tolled the arrival of midnight.

It also struck a chord in Edna’s heart.

The Weave’s call grew ever deeper, the hourglass in her ear, its sand on the verge of pouring its last grain.

Time is truly ruthless, never willing to look back.

”Ah...” Edna struggled to smile, ”I really don’t want to leave!

With twin ponytails, the pretty and cute Sanda King Sister, I’ve just been watching for a short while!

Back in Chult, the first time I saw you, I almost cried!

Really... I don’t want to leave...”

Elvia rushed toward the sky and flew around the castle with Arausato, who had arrived at some point.

”Don’t forget me!” Edna suddenly shouted while slowly fading in the blue and white flames, ”Even if I never return to Toril, don’t forget me!”

The ’Old Age Sanda King’ clenched her fists and helplessly lowered her head.

Edna’s enormous reflection appeared in the sky, and below her was Toril’s most famous White Dragon Queen. Behind her, soared the Ancient White Dragon Arausato and a faintly visible Ghost Silver Dragon.

”I, Edna, the Goddess of Magic, inherit the will of all past Goddesses of Magic, and in Mystra’s name, protect the Weave and guard Toril.”

The Ghost Dragon plummeted rapidly, rushing toward the Immortal Welcoming Castle, with blue flames burning on its body.

As it crashed into the spire on the right side of the castle, blue and white flames began to rain down over the Hidden Town, still resplendent amidst the sparkling of fireworks.

The ’Old Age Sanda King’, head down, looked in shock at the mass of blue and white flames roaring toward her, instinctively stepping back a few paces.

The flames that had landed directly on the terrace blazed fiercely.

A pretty little face slowly emerged from within, struggling intensely for a while, before slowly walking out.

”Edna?” The ’Old Age Sanda King’ looked bewildered at the girl who had returned to being 12 years old.

”Ah...” Edna ran over lightheartedly, hugging the ’Old Age Sanda King’, who was half a head shorter than herself, tightly, ”Oh my~ I didn’t expect to succeed!

I thought I couldn’t separate this piece of soul before entering Josse Garden!

Luckily, I succeeded.

This is, Edna, the Mayor of Hidden Town~

Although I can only live in the Immortal Welcoming Castle, still! According to the agreement, Hidden Town is mine!”

”Wait a minute! Let me go!” The ’Old Age Sanda King’ finally realized what had happened and suddenly flew into a rage, ”Edna! You little brat! Give me back my sorrow!”

”No~” Edna hugged the Sanda King tightly and said in a very serious tone, ”You see, even though it’s Edna hugging you, it’s no longer herself!

Edna~ is such a selfish little thing that she even gets jealous of herself!

Don’t be fooled by her wielding the Magic Sword to cut down Dandell; she’s actually watching over here, angry!”

The ’Old Age Sanda King’ couldn’t fathom what was going on with these deities no matter how she thought about it.

But at this moment, she was sure that even if one day she truly never returned to this damn place, Toril, she would never forget Edna, that naughty little rascal!

She was really almost in tears just now!

Hill did not stay in the Immortal Welcoming Castle.

After seeing Edna off into the starry sky, he directly boarded the Pulvey Ship and returned to his Floating Castle.

However, he was surprised to find that Shaer, Celene, and Lansendel were still there watching the grand scene.

Then he quickly realized: ”Dimogogan is still there?”

”Better! Manks has returned.” Lansendel quickly replied, ”He charged aggressively into that Dimensional Space and is now thrashing the two-headed worm.”

”Hmm?” Hill quickly returned to his old spot, his eyes fixed on the huge screen, ”Where is Safras?”

”Probably in Manks’ stomach,” Shaer replied softly.

”Wha... what?” Hill questioned in disbelief.

If the God of Prophecy of Toril was swallowed by the Lord of Devils, why are you so calm?

”There’s no need to be so surprised,” Celene said leisurely, ”You see, if he continues as the Lord of Devils, then AO naturally has no way to intervene.

But he consumed the power belonging to Toril... The Soul Shard of the Tablets of Fate within Safras’ soul isn’t a fake.

So this Great Devil, at least until that Soul Shard is extracted, is considered a harmless creature in AO’s eyes.”

”Can you... not be so disgusting?” Shaer turned to look at her sister, ”Do you love Rose that much?”

”No... I think it’s a flavorful topic, can we skip it?” Lansendel couldn’t help but speak up, ”Look at Manks’ nimble little feet! Kicking so precisely, right between the two heads!”

”Demons... they all have foot odor, don’t they? So it must stink.” Celene inexplicably added.

Hill looked helplessly at the Silvermoon Maiden, unable to escape that bizarre line of thought... She was probably referring to the smell of Hell.

Lansendel looked despairingly at Celene, completely unable to understand why someone would make themselves sick on purpose... Normally, shouldn’t you disgust others to amuse yourself?

Shaer’s voice was filled with suppressed fury: ”Celene, shake the water out of your head!”

”Ah...” Hill deftly interjected, ”How are things going on the side of the new Goddess of Magic?”

”What else?” Celene spread her hands, ”Dandell is about to become snake soup~”
